Synopsis
Sergeant Sousuke Sagara returns to Jindai High School to protect the precious war asset, Kaname Chidori, from any threat. However, his lack of social skills and real-life experience result in comical yet dangerous situations, endangering the peaceful school life Kaname longs for. As Sousuke continues to bring a wide range of weapons to school as a means to solve threats—real or fake—Kaname struggles to fulfill her duty as the student council vice president all while keeping him in check. To ensure a successful mission, Sousuke is occasionally forced to use the costume of a famous amusement park mascot called Bonta-kun. With his technical expertise, he eventually transforms the exuberant uniform into a cutting-edge exoskeleton that has only one dysfunction: the voice translator can only produce the sound "mofu." Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu depicts the adventures of Kaname and Sousuke as they try to live their normal school lives despite the chaos they inadvertently cause. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

Nota:-Full Metal Panic(ambas temporadas): 6 -FMP?,Fumoffu: 8

FMP? Fumoffu This is totally different from the real stories, this is like a spin off, one that is aimed to be full comedy without an specific storyline and i got to point out this is much better than the original and the Second Raid and much more enjoyable than both combined. Story Well there's no actual linear storyline but more like episodic stories in which every episode has two funny ''stories'' or daily life moments in which Sousuke finds himself and other ones in trouble triggering funny moments, that's it, expect to laugh a lot and Chidori this time has justification for her violence towards Sousuke andis less violent than in the other two adaptations in which it was unjustified over the top non sense violence and i hated that but here it's justified and even funny, sometimes she's a douch but not like in the other two adaptations. Art & Animation The art style is very good, sometimes is deformed and some episodes the quality of the animation drops but considering the time this was made it is pretty good and has a very good animation, better animation value than others of that year or years later. Overall very good. Sound The music background was good, the OP was good, fitting with the slice of life theme and the ED was ok but what i liked the most was that this time the VA was great and i think they felt compromised to do a great job and make everything funny, enjoyable and on point with the funny actions specially Sousuke, so serious and yet so funny, that's why i think the sound in general was great. Character The improvement of the characters is great, maybe it's because of the comedy slice of life or how well the chemistry of the characters is, but for sure the characters were great in Fumoffu and that chemistry is what made everything funnier and better. -Sousuke is not aware on how to socialize with people at all, and that's what makes it funny, tho he seems more stupid than unaware of logical things. -Chidori is more likeable in Fumoffu than in the other two adaptations, in which she was the worst character, she's one of the best here, tho i still prefer Tessa. Just with these two the things are great already, but we have a bunch other support characters that makes it slightly better but still great, like people from Mithril, Kurtz, Melissa and Tessa, funny moments with them as well. Enjoyment I didn't thought this was gonna be great, i didn't have high hopes for this anime but it surprised me and that come from someone who scored the original with a Six and the Second Raid with a Seven and i wasn't going to watch it but i decided why not and i'm glad i gave it a shot and my enjoyment was great.

Fumoffu is actually an aside season of the FMP universe. Whereas the main FMP universe is pretty dark and is filled with serious action, FMP is filled with unrelenting humor. I actually watched Fumoffu before watching FMP or TSR so I can attest that this hilarious piece about a military soldier attempting to blend in with Japanese society and high school life. Though knowledge of the base FMP show is helpful at times, this can actually be watched standalone. Fully enjoyable without knowing anything about the characters from FMP. This series is purely a delight to watch and a great show to entertain guests with. Animation: Crisp andcolorful, Kyoto Animation did a great job with this one. The characters are all drawn very nicely and the overall look is very pleasing; this is definitely among the best for it's time. And Bonta kun is just classic- fumo-fumo! Sound: The OP/ED are both above average for me and the BGM is extremely well done. Voice acting is the same as FMP and TSR, all excellent. Story: This is not a plot-driven series. It's all about short, humorous clips (some last as short as half an episode) from the day to day school life of Chidori and Sosuke. I typically don't like fillers but this is definitely an exception. The humor in itself is enough to keep the viewer intrigued. Character: In terms of development, well, there isn't much of it. There are a few Sosuke-Chidori moments but nothing significant enough to put a romance label on this. The series does introduce a few new side characters that are quite interesting but are totally nonexistent in TSR. The real point is just an explication of what it means to be out of touch with society. Sosuke's antics never grow old. Value: When humor is in dire need, Fumoffu answers. This is definitely good for re-watch as the humor is still just as funny, all in a short package too! Years after watching this, it is still a delight to watch- especially with those who haven't yet seen it.

Fumoffu takes place immediately following season 1 of FMP, while FMP isn't exactly required, I'd recommend watching it to get the backstory of fumoffu, and honestly it was pretty good for a mecha so you'll probably enjoy it anyway. Anyway, at its core, this was a slice of life comedy, it took all of the best moments from season 1 and created a spin off series based on it. It stars Chidori, a normal high school girl with a special background explained in season 1, and Sosuke, a highly trained military soldier who lacks any personality beyond his vast military background, who was assigned to protectChidori in season 1. The story basically explains what happens on a day to day level after season 1 wraps up, and it leaves you incredibly satisfied. The characters are where this show really shines. While Chidori is kind of just a typical tsundere, being paired with Sosuke is a match made in heaven. He's completely dense and paranoid, treating almost anything as an act of war, and just straight up over-reacts to nearly everything. The two have an excellent chemistry that really plays out well, and they support each other throughout the show. The remainder of the cast is supporting, they aren't over-used and they even have pretty well-developed personalities too. As others have said, the theme songs are not as good as season 1, but the sounds during the episodes were about the same. The "Fumoffu!" said by Benta during the episodes is hilarious regardless. The art is more or less identical to the original. The sheer brilliance of this show is leagues above nearly every other comedy anime I've seen. There's an episode involving rugby that was easily the funniest episode of a TV show I've ever watched. You also see bioterrorism, raids by a group of giant stuffed animals, exploding lockers/classrooms, and nearly anything else you could imagine involving a military otaku and a school. I think this is honestly one of the few shows that pretty much anyone can enjoy. It is mindless fun, while at the same time addressing real agencies and having some slightly deeper plots if you look hard enough. It easily earns a place near the top of my list, so definitely give it a shot if you want a good SOL, without all the loli and moe crap.

Ok so this will be my first review ever so I'll try my best! Firstly if you haven't seen full metal panic(first season) I suggest watching that before this. Now let's get down to it, this anime was just great I was literally on the floor laughing the whole time because it's all about the COMEDY!! sousuke sagara is gotta be one of my favorite characters of all time because he so oblivious to everything and he shows it the most in this season. So grab some popcorn and enjoy the laughs Bc It's a masterpiece 10/10

For a lot of people, their favourite parts of Full Metal Panic were the goofy side stories involving Sagara blowing stuff up in a school environment and Kaname getting mad at him for doing so. To appease that fanbase, and to keep the main storyline more serious and consistent in tone, they took a whole bunch of those stories and compiled them into season 1.5: Full Metal Panic Fumoffu. While it helps to have the experience of the main story to know the characters, Fumoffu works perfectly fine as a stand alone dumb comedy, such is the disconnect between it and FMP regular. The issue isabout 75% of the joke of Fumoffu is Sagara shooting something and then Kaname getting angry and hitting him for doing that. That joke wasn’t particularly funny in FMP regular, and repeating it 100 times does little to improve it. If anything, it also starts to degrade the joke of Sagara’s military fetishism, because the jokes become so predictable. I wouldn’t have thought that solving every problem by shooting someone in the face would ever lose its charm, but I’m sure even an avalanche of kittens would eventually grow tiresome. The new characters don’t add much to the story either. The nature of Fumoffu means the jokes have little in the way of depth or weight, and what’s there comes as baggage from the main series. Even when they bring over characters from the main FMP, they lose a lot in transition to goofy comedy. Tessa in particular is pathetic in Fumoffu. There’s no real satire on display here, when almost all the jokes are slapstick of someone applying military logic to real life situations. It’s the lazy webcomic artist method of humour. Apply video game logic to real life situations with hilarious consequences. So, repetitive jokes and bland characters. “But I heard Fumoffu was really good” I pretend to hear you say. “And you really like Full Metal Panic, so what’s going on here”? Well, my theory here is that it comes down to selective memory. What I described above is about 75-80% of Fumoffu. The remaining part of Fumoffu is a bit more diverse and a touch insane. My current running theory is the guys tasked with writing and storyboarding Fumoffu were locked in a room together and told they couldn’t leave until the entire show had been planned out. For the most part they just made a generic romcom with a military nerd lead. However, as they were forced to spend so much time together, slowly they started to go mad. When the producers finally opened the door to let them out, they were a shrivelled gang of deranged lunatics, talking about trapping prostitutes in cages, repeatedly shouting quotes from Full Metal Jacket at each other, and with one guy huddled in a corner muttering the word ‘pony’ under his breath over and over again. When you start breaking down the themes and layers behind these jokes, this side of Fumoffu does not have nice things to say about humanity, nor the people who made this show. Humans will crawl over each others dead bodies, whether fuelled by hunger, lust or simple self-preservation instinct. Practically every episode involves someone threatening to sexually assault Kaname, and in the case of things like the Pony episode, you get the feeling the sympathy lies with the Pony man. The tone frequently swaps into slasher horror-mode, and the results are as frightening as they are funny. It’s hugely imaginative, laugh out loud funny, and the kind of humour that definitely sticks with you. But insane in a slightly worrying way. If Fumoffu was a person, they would be the kind of guy who you heard ‘stories’ about, but seemed like a perfectly nice guy in person until you went on a night out with them. Fumoffu is the kind of person who would suggest re-creating scenes from The Wicker Man, and be deadly serious about it. Fumoffu is the kind of person who would tie an old man to a cross and do tribal dances around him while yelling “this is so much fun”! Fumoffu is the kind of person you wouldn’t remember what happened on this night out with them, except that the next morning you found yourself in an unfamiliar bedroom with only a decapitated gorilla for company.

Before I begin: You have to be at least acquainted with the FMP series and its basic background if you want to appreciate this series.(Oops! I already began) Sousuke,a military nut who has spent almost all his life upto now surrounded by terrorists and war has to guard Chidori, normal Japanese girl and act within the 'common' common sense. Yeah, so how hilarious can it turn out to be.. not much? Wrong! Trust me, you'll hardly get a greater dose of humor elsewhere. This story just goes on to incredulously display how dangerous and dumb and droll it can be to have a man whose mind isa 'combat-oriented manual' live a normal high-school life. The abundance of humor utilizing normal, usual situations and satire directed at inane military attitude coupled with the absence of sexual innuendos and ecchi references makes this anime a really rare one (Though you will find censored 'terminologies' in an episode. And I don't loath ecchi humor btw). In my opinion, although a side-story, this anime is undoubtedly excellent and displays the ingenious talent of the team to create fresh humor from simple, sometimes inconspicuous, situations and some truly insane ones. And if you liked FMP, you'll more than like this. Most of the plot basically moves around the school life of Chidori and Sousuke and their friends. The episodes are independent events (some episodes have two independent stories) so there's hardly any link or depth throughout the series. But each of the individual events has been skilfully crafted from the aspect of location, situation, dialogue and timing. Love-letters, confessions, dates, school lunch, beach holidays, Rugby death-matches and bacteriological weapons - the diversity of situations it utilizes is really good and the impact it creates is even better [!!Spoiler: Who the hell would fire a real gun at a shooting arcade, Just how much dumb do you have to be that you really 'capture' the girls and train players like recruits, How dangerous can a deranged caretaker become and Question: How do you split watermelons?.. with a shotgun of course!.... XD -- just imagine the impact]. So irrespective of overall plot development or depth or whatever it scores for being witty and clever and hilarious and I'll give the story a 9/10. (btw I do not think that a central developing storyline is essential to a great comedy, not anymore :D) The art and graphics of Fumoffu are quite similar to the FMP series, the exception being that there are no mechas or intricate artillery displays (but guns and bombs are used a lot)-- the characters are well designed and proportioned similarly, the coloring scheme is also similar but some different areas are explored by introducing new locations (school clubs, playground, cafeteria, hospitals, recreation parks, hot springs etc.) and characters. The motion is fluid and some of the scenes like that of Sousuke escaping the patrol car on bicycle, battling the butler and the battle at hot springs are stunningly well depicted. The music choice in Fumoffu is.. good, I think. The OP "Sore ga Ai Deshou' is beautiful(I so love it) but doesn't seem quite apt due to a serious sort of theme, the ED is fine. The BGM frequently has some serious or throbbing tones which are meant more as a mockery than otherwise and the romantic tunes are also great but those actually meant as comedic are not spectacular. So to say other than the soundtracks that explicitly convey laughs the choice is better than standard, thus even though the BGM is great its not very appropriate. The synchronization and timing are good. Fumoffu fully exploits the well-developed character base of FMP while also introducing its own cast. The characters of Sousuke, Chidori and Tessa are extebsively used but hardly developed and maintain a status-quo ( They're not inanimate but they are static). But the Student council president, school staff and students (Ono-D, Tsubaki etc.) along with others like Yakuzas, Police lady and most notably Bonta-kun are nicely introduced and characterized. Bonta-kun is one of the most hilarious and enticing characters of the series and you'll see why if you watch. I love the series so I'll give a slightly biased 8/10 to the characters. This is one of the most enjoyable comedy series I've ever watched- it doesn't resort to stale or recycled humor or cheap tricks or gap-filling fan-service and not even ecchi humor and still manages to provide a great entertaining experience. The events are brief and hardly any time is wasted on developing a central storyline or theme, the conversations are concise and comprehensible, the sense of satire is modest and a quite a few scenes are like - OMG! OMG! and you clench your stomach twisting with laughter.. What this means is that you get a show with nearly 100% comedy since almost every bit of time is utilized in doing so. A value for your time and laughter for your heart.. You've gotta see this one.

What a geniality. "Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu" is the second season of "Full Metal Panic!", but the plot has a different approach. Instead of being a serious story with nice jokes -like the previous season-, this is a romantic comedy with a little emphasis on parodies, especially of "Full Metal Panic!". The story mix together the pacific days at school with the zero-common-sense of Sagara Sousuke, so imagine the result. With the comedy there are also some interesting plot twists. One good new is that character designs were improved. I think there aren't many changes in sound effects (compared to the first season), I can say that musicimproved. I was amazed with the relation between music and plot, especially with a couple of piano plays to put tension. The personalities of characters are pretty much the same, and in this Season you will get to know a little more about them. There are, also, new characters. Ah, and I can't forget to tell you: as it must be, Fumoffu is full of fan service. So, if you liked "Full Metal Panic!" and like comedies, you have to see Fumoffu.

First up, it should be noted that this is NOT a sequel, but it should be watched after you've seen a bit of the main series at least, just so you know what the characters are like. This is like a "companion" series consisting of funny short stories that happens in the school life part of "Full Metal Panic", and it runs in parallel against the events of the first series of the franchise. "Full Metal Panic: Fumvlkvo" (I haven't bothered learning how to spell the title of this anime correctly) is a very easy watch due to the total light heartedness and bite sized formatof the stories. The short length of each story (they're generally last half an episode each) helps to sustain its entertainment as each one will finish before attention starts to wander. These mini stories tend to be very imaginative and clever, and although most are episodic, a couple of events do have a follow up later on. The comedy itself mostly involves Sousuke making a fool of himself by being a military nerd trying to blend into the school. It's essentially the same comedy distilled from the original series but taken to new level. For many people, this is probably the pinnacle of anime comedy, and it's pretty much why Sousuke is such a legend. Even I probably prefer this to the original series as the original series sometimes takes itself too seriously but didn't have the substance to back up its serious themes while "Full Metal Panic: Fnmvlp;l" doesn't bother trying to be much more than a shallow comedy and succeeds admirably. But in between all the silliness, there are some softer moments where the anime found time to develop the relationship between Souske and Chidori a bit, which is good. The only low point that I can think of is when Tessa turns up and started to annoy me all over again. God how I hate that character... Presentation wise, the animation style of "Full Metal Panic: Fmvvufn" is mostly the same as the original series, but without the action sequences. The artwork is gorgeous, at least as good as the original, and in fact is probably better. The new characters that gets introduced are all nicely designed, whilst the old ones looks like they've been refined slightly. I love the opening and ending themes, and the background music and voice acting are pretty good as well. If you love anime comedy, you can't afford to miss "Full Metal Panic: Fufdnfh" - it's likely to be one of the funniest anime you're ever likely to come across. Even I found it to be very funny, which is damn high praise considering my usual attitude towards anime comedy.

ok this is one of those series that you cant miss. even if you haven't watched full metal panic series you will fall in love with fumoffu. well at least for the poeple who has humor sence! story: nothing there is no story so i cant judge this. it is just a complitation of hilarious situations. art: 9/10 the art is good but still some flaws i didnt like. mostly because of the old school drawing maybe. character: 10/10 well also there is no character development but all the character are hilarous and each of them fullfill his roles so good...enjoyment: 10/10 OMG! i laughed so much my stomach hurted me. even when i rewatched it couldn't stop laughing just one of the best comedies ever. overall: 10/10 totally recomended even you havent seen the series. you dont need to know about their background to laugh at them do you? :P

I just love this series I wish that would make more 12 episodes just isn't enough I just wanted to enjoy moreof Sagara's adventures at a normal school after spending his entire life in military organisations and activities. its just so funny how unadept he is in adapting to school. For example blowing up the shoe boxes just because someone had opened his box and put a love letter inside, and then further confusing the lovely hand writting and sweet words of the remains as a challenge letter. Therefore he gets all camoflaged with a sniper rifle, hidden for 6 hours, watching the girl. the show is justso funny, and I just loved every bit, I was laughing my head off through most of it, and just couldn't believe how amazingly funny and well executed it was, the rugby team's transformation, the onsen, the photography and the dojo. its just all so perfect. I loved it and will recommend this to everyone. Just the things he does is just so funny. you will be laughing your head off, though its recommended that you watch the first full metal panic series first.

I am very skeptical about giving 10 as a score simply because achieving perfection IS NOT POSSIBLE. The thing is, every now and then I come across something that does what it is supposed to do SO WELL that whatever minor mistakes that it have pale in comparison to the rest, and the result is truly a 10... Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu is one of those rare cases. ---------------------------------- Story ---------------------------------- This will be a bit brief, but not because there isn't any, simply because the show exists of short bursts of story development instead of a coherent big arc, this makes for a "non continuum" world but atthe same time help flash out one of the best aspects of Fumoffu, it's randomness. You never know what to expect from the next minute of the show, and when they manage to keep this feeling untouched for twelve episodes it's hard to complain about the plot or the lack of it, specially because this characteristic puts the mood on the exact pace and you are never confronted with one dull moment. On any other show, I would count this as a bad thing, but since this works so wonderfully in the context , here, it is actually one of the strongest selling points. ---------------------------------- Art & Sound ---------------------------------- Art wise it is on par with what you would expect from an anime from 2003, but don't mistake this comment as an average one because backgrounds are done beautifully and the animations are simply gorgeous! There is one particular episode where the subject is rugby when the animation really got me breathless, it's VERY good. Now, when we take into consideration the style of the show we can up the bar a couple of notches, specially on the characters. Each one of them have a special care with expressions, and when we consider each character is rich and detailed, the fact that so much attention went to portraying each one specific characteristics really shows a well rounded job. It is so good that from time to time I had to rewind a few scenes just to take a closer look on their faces, specially Sagara's ones (him jumping on the pool specially comes to my mind right now). The sound does it's job, and while I didn't like much the theme songs I can't build up a strong enough case to complain about them either, sure enough, it keep up in terms of quality with the rest of the aspects of the show but never outstands on its own. Now, one thing that the audio department does really well is the VA's. The voice in this show is unparalleled, and even with the insane amount of uniqueness the art manages to portray for each character, the voice of them is never behind and the synergy between the two is really really great. Anyway, taking detailed backgrounds with smooth animations and astonishing character expressions makes up for a near 10, and since the audio while nothing astonishing in it's own merits (aside the voice actors) manage to keep up, it's hard not to be amazed by the level of quality the show achieved on this category. ---------------------------------- Characters ---------------------------------- Fair enough, some characters might fall on stereotypes every now and then (moe) but the fact is, each one is unique and vibrant enough to be excused from these moments, specially when the other 90% of the time they are simply groundbreaking. From Sosuke with it's uneasiness caused by all the attritions between himself and his surroundings to Chidori and her love / hate affair with his actions, going all the way trough Tessa with it's cute and yet somewhat extreme attitudes toward everything (especially Sagara) all of them worth a few paragraphs of text to explain how great each one are, and how much attrition everyone goes by (without exceptions) always being thrown around contexts that doesn't suit them... it's like trying to fit a square peg in a round hole all the time, it's just priceless! Luckily since all the characters (main and support) are simply so good I can save some time and resume everyone with one word: outstanding. Even if all the other aspects of the show are top notch, the characters alone are what make Fumoffu so damn good! ...and I don't even have to take my time talking about Bonta-kun, all you need is a picture of him and you will understand why he is so freaking cool!!! ---------------------------------- Enjoyment & Value ---------------------------------- It's a show to have a blast the first time you see it, and even after a couple or runs still find amazing! Not only that, but it is so damn good, that the roughly 24 minutes of each episode are not enough, and I constantly got myself re watching scenes to take notice of small details I missed on the first way trough. Sure, it is not a serious anime, but it is probably the best and funniest fanservice anime I have ever saw, and use the term "fanservice" with caution because todays iterations of it consist nothing more then slapstick and tons of unnecessary sex... Fomoffu takes a more elegant and yet much better route while also keeping violence, sex and FUN to extreme levels. It's addicting, and not only that, but one of the rare series that you will end up watching again and again and again but never getting dull or repetitive, and still after your twelve run or so still giggle from it's jokes, still relate to the characters and still want to watch it again by the end of it!

After watching all the FMP seasons I have to say that, without a doubt, Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu is the best one. FMP F are just spin-offs, side stories that take place right after the first Full Metal Panic! and before Second Raid season. If you are looking for a good laugh this is definitely one of the best options around. Does this anime really have a story? Almost every episode is divided into two sub-episodes parts, which equals two stories per episode. Mostly one has nothing to do with the other episodes. Now if Fumoffu doesn't have a story why is so good? Easy: Inthe first season the anime focuses, almost all the time, in the belic conflicts that "Mythril" has with different terrorist organizations. But the thing is that they've created amazing-over the top characters, characters they have to show off in another way, in a theme that accentuates more the masterwork they've done: a comedy theme, and not in the serious-storyline theme that characterized the first season. This is called fan service my friends. Now which place is the most popular for an anime to take place and to develop? The answer is simple: school. This ambiance is used now in almost all animes simply because is part of the formula, a formula that is successful. This season is made mainly because of the lack of that "school development" that the first season has. If you watch Fumoffu carefully, you'll notice that almost every single thing is school-related. In the end, no story at all, only fan service, very well done fan service. The art and design are not that different from the original Full Metal Panic! The characters keep looking good and smooth. The only thing that changes is the locations that, this time, are more detailed. In Fumoffu the school location is a lot more detailed: new sub-locations inside the school are shown (club rooms, school council room, principal's room, etc.) and new characters are introduced to complement the roles inside the school. Note that in this anime you ain't seeing Mechas (well if you can count Bonta-kun as one xD!). Regarding opening-ending and BGM's, I have to say that FMP is superior to Fumoffu. However, Fumoffu does take voice acting to new horizons. The voices of Chidori and Sagara are a lot more relaxed and funny. Also, love the Fumo!!! Fumoffu! sound that Bonta-kun does, it may seem childish but in the end, it's really one of the most hilarious stuff this anime has to offer. Nice sound but as a "sequel" it doesn't outstand its predecessor. Full Metal Panic! has always characterized by having one of the best casts of characters around. Well, Fumoffu does really make these characters look better, if possible than the original FMP. The way Sagara and Chidori go to school every day, Sagara's paranoia and Chidori's violent personality do help Fumoffu reach the pinnacle in comedy anime. I mean is obvious if you watched the first FMP that the characters are just unique in many ways. I definitely enjoyed this anime from the first minute to the last one. FMP F offers 100% guaranteed entertainment, even if you know nothing about FMP this anime is a must-watch. Fumoffu is almost at a masterpiece level, the only problem with this show is that it can be VERY random but, then again, that is what makes it funny, isn't it?

First of all, the only reason I gave the "Story" category a grade of "9" is because Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu isn't actually a story. It's more of a compilation of mini-stories or events and mishaps of our high-school couple. The artwork is astounding. You'll feel every facial expression as if you were really there, the figures are all proportional, the color is vivid yet simple at the same time, and the environment is rich with detail, with next to no flaws in anything. It sounds great. The OST is perfect; the OP and ED themes are strongly reflective of the complexities brought about in thelives of teenagers. The Voice-Acting is amazing; you'll feel different emotions with every word. Kaname's voice goes from calm to angered to saddened with perfect transitions and matches perfectly with what you'd expect from a 16-year old girl such as herself. Sagara's voice isn't to be overlooked either. His sincerity and seriousness are perfectly accurate in terms of the war-obsessed soldier he's designated to play. And everyone else always has a full glass of emotion with their speeches so there's never really a dull moment. The characters are awesome. The two main characters have come to be two of my favorites, because of what an amusement they are. Their compatibility speaks for itself, and though they don't develop too much, Kaname, Sagara, and the rest of the Jindai High School staff and students will keep you happy and fruitfully amused. If you need something to enjoy; something to be happy about, look here. FMP? Fumoffu has so much humor involved, and the characters are well-rounded while equally unique from one another, and when thrown together like this, make combinations that will have you on the floor, and even rewatching the series entirely. It's a relatively short series, so even if you're pressed time-wise, its manageable 12-episode count is neither shorter or longer than it needs to be; the perfect length. I found the series just next to flawless, therefore earning a well-deserved 10. Hopefully you enjoy the series as much as I did. ;]

I dont write reviews so often but i figured for one of my favorite anime i could make an exception. STORY like all comedy anime FMP Fumoffu has no real story like its parent story FMP! but it still kind of shows some advancements in the relationship between kaname and souske but other than that the story line moves around in all directions. ART the art is fantastic i think the animation in very good and i think kaname is one of the cutest anime girls ever along with tesa. SOUND this anime has the best opening i have ever seen ... the song is great and the opening videois so good that is was worth watching it entirely for every episode. CHARACTER The characters are very nice and easy to fall in love with... i love kaname and tesa... tesa's personality is so warm and cute while kaname is your typical hotheaded female lead and then you have him... souske... he is nothing like any other character i have ever seen... the characters are awesome and very well animated ENJOYMENT I loved this anime!!!! this says it all ... i laughed a lot and found my self rewinding parts i found very funny :}

The reason that this comedy succeeds where so many others have failed is that it's primarily based on character-driven humor, and from what I've seen most other comedies rely on the standard "random cute girls do random cute things, repeat ad nauseum" nonsense. I don't understand why that sort of stuff gets aired all the time, but luckily, the humor in Fumoffu comes from the plausible yet wacky situations that the characters get themselves into, and their reactions to those situations. The show mostly revolves around the kind of "fish-out-of-water" type scenarios that result when a dude from a shadowy mercenary organization (andsometimes his friends) ends up in a Japanese high school. The highlight is probably the rugby team episode, which features a hilarious segment lifted straight from the Kubrick movie Full Metal Jacket. Switch to the dub for that one. Although the premise seems repetitive, the cast of diverse characters and their rather eccentric personalities prevents Fumoffu from feeling tired and drawn-out. The art and animation seem fine and appropriate for this kind of series. And I could swear the ending theme rips off Santana's Game of Love. But I digress. Fumoffu's lots of fun and has endless replay value.

Okay, first things first. One: If you haven't watched the original Full Metal Panic! series, watch it beforehand. Knowing the characters *will* make the humor better. Two, if you didn't like the part of the original series that was about Sosuke and Chidori's everything but normal high school life, turn around, because that's all Fumoffu is about. Okay, let's get to reviewing. The story in Fumoffu follows, as mentioned, Chidori and Sosuke's wacky high school life, and has none of the mecha aspects that FMP! had. This means that there is room for tons of comedy - given that you liked that part of FMP!You'll see everything from bacteriological weapons to flirt contests in this series, and not to mention, Sosuke's total lack of "street smarts". There is no continuous story from episode to episode, except two episodes which were tied together. Some of the episodes also feature two mini-episodes at around 10 mins. each instead of one full-length episode. While this system wouldn't have worked with, let's say, FMP!, it works perfectly for an all-out comedy show like Fumoffu. I see some people rate the story with a 4 because it's really no story (and I kinda agree with them on that), but I'm giving it a 9, because I consider what happens in each episode as well in my rating. The artwork is as great as it was in FMP!. The coloring is better than most series out there, and other effects are okay. And while above average overall, it's nothing really spectacular, and so it ends up on a 9. The soundtrack isn't much to brag about, and the worst aspect of the series, if you ask me. I hardly noticed it was there, and when I did, I can't say I was impressed. The only exception is the OP/ED themes, which were great, but not good enough to raise the music to a score of 8. The characters are the same old people I learned to love in FMP!, and that love was enough to cover up for the big lack of character development - they were the same old characters throughout the 12 episodes. But then again, I didn't really expect much character development since it's a comedy show. The side characters that were introduced were really hilarious, especially that crazy police woman. I'm stuck on an 8.5 here, too bad MAL doesn't have the ability to put in X.5 scores >_< All in all, I enjoyed the show a lot, and I laughed almost all the time. To summarize: If you liked FMP! and it's characters, and most importantly, the comedy aspects of the show, you have to watch Fumoffu. To 'Not Helpful' voters (and you 'Helpful' voters too): Feedback greatly appreciated =)

Full Metal Panic: Fumoffu (FMP:F) improves on its bipolar predecessor by focusing only on comedy. FMP:F is essentially a collection of filler episodes that could of been taken from the FMP story line. Therefore, there is no plot or character development or AS (Arm Slaves) fights, just the antics of Sousuke and the rest. So those fans looking for a continuation of FMP are not going to find it in FMP:F instead watch Full Metal Panic: The Second Raid. A nice thing about FMP:F is that you don't have to watch the first series to enjoy this. There aren't manyreferences the first Full Metal Panic and all you need to know is Sousuke has live all his life as a solider and for the first time in his life he has to adapt to normal Japanese high school life. This time around instead of GONZO animating FMP:F Kyoto animation took the job. Most of the comedy does rely on Sousuke's inability to adapt to normal Japanese life. With this type of catalyst FMP:F runs the danger of being repetitive. Thankfully it never does as there are a variety of situations and characters. Hell some of the characters are just as crazy as Sousuke. The scenarios we encounter are pretty standard for a HS based anime. However, the FMP:F take on these scenarios are absolutely hilarious. They take seemingly normal situations and exaggerate them to the point of complete hilarity. Also, they seem to take the insanity far enough to be funny but not to the point of absurdity and stupidity. This is a very delicate balance that far too many anime titles fail to get right. One of my favorite parts was the variety of homages or parodies FMP:F has, from "Your under Arrest" to "Goldfinger." The FMP:F take on sports anime was a personal favorite. A stereotypical sports anime would be something like this. We have a group of losers that’s about to be disbanded if they don't win. Of course the team is missing a critical player. However, a coach comes and magically turns the team around and finds the missing player. I guess I'll let you use your imagination as to how FMP:F work with this idea. I guess my only real complaint is that some of the earlier episodes were a bit weaker than the later episodes. Yes they were funny but not as funny. The further development of Sousuke and Chidori relationship felt weird within the context of FMP:F. FMP:F is an episodic series with no real story or continuity. So it follows the format of, stuff happens, development, and reset. However, admittedly if FMP:F were to be taken as lost filler episodes for the first Full Metal Panic then maybe it works, but not within the context of FMP:F. There’s not much else I can say about FMP:F besides that its one of the few shows that still make me laugh after repeated viewings. Hell its one of the few shows that makes me laugh period. Sure there are a few weak episodes but what anime doesn't?

I felt it was necessary to write a review thats not blinded from fan bias of the entire series. If you've seen the first season you already know the main plot, spunky school girl has a mysterious power and is being protected by a secret military organization; specifically by the 16 year old Serious Military Nut, Sousuke Sagara. This series takes place between "Full Metal Panic" and "Full Metal Panic: The second Raid." If you have watched the first season you recognize the plot progression was an awkward mix of Comedy and action~ with the occasional dash of drama/romance.... this is where Fumoffu makes ahuge drift from the first season. Story: As if to spare fans the mediocre mix of Action/Comedy Fumoffu has no real action what so ever; It seems that the Action element of this series was saved for the 3rd installment "The second Raid" Which I highly recommend. Without action the story focuses on cliche comedy that for the most part was already touched on in the first season. I have nothing against comedy, and one or two episodes were truly humorous, but in comparison to other series Fumoffu is below average in originality and it ignores the real plot. If anything this entire season feels like one long filler... there are 1-2 events that roll over to the next season... but they are clearly explained and insinuated so you could skip all 12 episodes and still make sense of the Second raid. (I accidentally watched them out of order myself... the title "The second raid" was misleading) Art: The first seasons was mediocre and it seems they made no effort to increase the quality in Fumoffu. Sound: It had a cute opening, and nothing was wrong with OST... there's was nothing outstanding about it though. Character: They kept the same characteristics... no important new characters and very little development besides Teresa; who had stayed a mysterious character in most of the first season. Enjoyment: 90% of Fumoffu made me cringe; it was just so cheesy in the worst ways, it had not real point, there was no drama or action. This season is the manifestation of everything that was wrong with the first season and more. Do not let Fumoffu scare you from "The second Raid" though~ it is nearly a Masterpiece; what the first season had the potential to be times 2... but Fumoffu probably was just used as a cash cow in between...

If you are not aware already, Full Metal Panic Fumoffu is a spin off of the more serious Full Metal Panic. It seems to be set in point somewhere halfway through the series. Unlike its big brother, it contains no arm slave battles and only a few hostage situations. Instead it focuses on the high school lives of Souske and Chidori and is overall very lighthearted. Full Metal Panic Fumoffu is probably the funniest anime I have ever seen. It routinely places Souske\'s vast military expertise and relatively little common sense into the spotlight. This show is filled with explosions, rubber bullets and misunderstandings. No matterwhat the problem is, it can always be solved by a combination of Chidori\'s level headed approach and Souske\'s arsenal of wacky weaponry. Speaking of wacky weaponry, this show also introduces my favorite anime character, Bunta-kun: a six foot tall, heavily modified and armed theme park entertainer. This show is way out there, very funny and a must see for any military otaku. I would recommend watching the first two or three episodes of Full Metal Panic before seeing this, but it is not necessary.
