Synopsis
Aside from her deep passion for eating cakes, the clumsy Ichigo Amano has never been successful at anything. After an encounter with Henri Lucas, a famous patissier, Ichigo's amazing tasting abilities—although unbeknownst to her—are discovered. Recognizing her talent, Henri offers her the chance to attend St. Marie Academy, a prestigious culinary school which specializes in desserts. In spite of the fact that she is a beginner lacking skills, thanks to Henri's recommendation, Ichigo is placed in the topmost group with the "Sweets Princes." The princes, famous throughout the school for their magical treats, are Sennosuke Andou, an expert in traditional Japanese sweets; Satsuki Hanabusa, with a flair for candied flowers; and Makoto Kashino, a gifted chocolatier. Ichigo and the Sweets Princes, each accompanied by their "Sweets Spirits"—fairies who make patissiers' dreams come true—all work towards their goals in the competitive world of sweets. I have known about this show since I was 11 years old and even now as an adult, I find myself rewatching it almost every year if I have caught up with new anime episodes. The show is intriguing to me because of how hardworking and passionate the characters are towards their dreams. The bond of friendship between the characters is really nice, and the mistakes made by the main character and the team are very realistic, just like in real life. The many competitions in the show are captivating and will keep you on your toes. The visuals of the cakes are also well-done. Overall, Ireally enjoyed this series and highly recommend it to both younger audiences and adults. It has made me more passionate about my life as well. :)

I'm rewatching this anime for the first time since I was 12-13 years old. At that age, I was an infurious romance anime searcher, the reason why I encountered this anime in the first place. However, I remember how the anime trapped me with the grand prix festival arc, and all the beautiful and imaginative sweet designs. This anime may not have the most amazing plot, but it is really enjoyable and perfect for the mood "chilling with series". The story: The story is nothing from the other world. Ichigo, a girl who loves cakes because of how many emotions can they make you feel (happiness overall),meet one day Henri Lucas, a teacher from the St. Mary academy. This, surprised by her palate and imagination, invite her to transfer to the St. Mary Academy to become a Pâtisserie like her grandma. It is going to be a long journey of failing, getting up again and trying, and growing. A lot of chapters are focused on the development of the characters, their growth versus adversities and enemies. Things go quite more interesting with the Grand prix festival arc, but all the chapters before that are actually pretty enjoyable. The art: Well, don't expect super fancy art and fast scenes. I mean, this is a shoujo anime about making cakes. However, the cake designs are amazing, and you really end up thinking if such a cake is possible to made in real life (most of them are though). The characters design is not bad neither (like old fruit basket style, since they are from the same moment) The sound: Nothing really remarkable, except the ending and the opening. The opening is going to eat your brain, it is extremely sticky. The characters: Ichigo is such a great character, and such a good inspiration for anyone. She's a clumsy, happy girl, who really cares about the happiness of others, and want to make sweets to make people smile and feel good, just like how her grandma did. However, that desire stumble to the fact that she transferred to a high elite pâtisserie school without even baking once. But she doesn't run away for the sake of her dreams, and try harder every time she falls. Really an inspirational and beautiful character. Ichigo may be the centerpiece, but the sweet princes are important main and support characters who grow and help Ichigo grow over the chapters. Every one of them has chapters where they fail, where you can see how frustrated, disappointed they are, and how they fight versus those feelings. They are not paper thin characters, and their development isn't a lot, but it is enough for you to gasp how they are and why they are like that. All in all, enjoyment is granted (maybe not in all the chapters, but surely in most of them). A perfect anime to wind down and relax, and maybe, it will impulse you to start baking sweets or to bake sweets with more care.

The story line obviously wasn't one of a kind but it was i can not lie very enjoyable as you can see by my profile pic I became a huge fan and I love it still obviously the characters are amazing and there is romance in there just lil sprinkles of romance and I cant lie I loved vanilla and chocola they where cute Overall the story line is great the sounds the characters are awesome and the characters you can easily get attached to. There are many different feelings you can get from this anime i believe it was pointed out to be for kidsbut to say the truth I think many adults took a interest to this anime and i totally understand how they feel cause i love this anime.

A sweet surprise Especially for me, as a confectioner, this anime is extremely enjoyable and actually really rich in information. Within the Kodomo genre, this is a masterpiece. Characters: Personalities are common but likeable and fits perfectly within the anime, from the clumsy protagonist to the little fairies named after sweet flavors Story and enjoyment: Each episode becomes more addictive, especially after the characters begin to participate in contests, that make you get involved with the themes and solutions they come up with. Art: the sweets are gorgeous and the fairys are very cute. Although the art is not particularly striking, the colors, designs and creativity compensate.

Yumeiro Patissiere is an anime which you would have watched during your childhood days. It targets primarily at children in elementary school. The theme of this anime would probably be chasing your dreams and overcoming challenges which are really what children really want to do. Personally, I would always come back to this anime when I have completed all animes that I am interested in that season, but only specific episodes which I vividly remember (basically the interesting bits). There's romance in this anime and it's really cute to see those sweet moments where you ship the couple really hardthe openings of both seasons really much!

This story is really geared towards a younger audience. The themes that they show are very sweet and educational. The MCs teach the audience how to work together, how to fail and try again, how to enjoy what you have, etc. The story was great. It was cute and fun to watch. The characters weren't boring and didn't have similar traits at all. They all had their unique personalities. As for the sound and art, I'm not really a good judge of that. All I can say is that I have no complaints. It is a really enjoyableanime to watch on your leisurely time. It is fun and quite long but the story doesn't get boring at all. It isn't the type of show that shows a similar repeat like pokemon or other competition based type shows. Even though they do go into multiple sweets competitions and have multiple competitors, but each one shows a different scenario, different sweets, different new characters, etc. Overall, I would recommend it if you have the time to watch this anime.

Yumeiro Patissiere is an interesting anime that got me hooked up in the first few episodes. It tells about how a clumsy girl, Ichigo that doesn't know anything about being a patissiere achieving her goal and becoming one of the best patissiere in the academy. She achieves her goal with the help of 3 princes in her class which has the best grades in that year. Ichigo even has her own Sweets Spirit on her first day when she arrived at the academy, the 3 princes also has Sweets Spirits that help them become better Patissiere. Overall, I really enjoyed the anime, I was interested onhow she was trying so hard to achieve her goal as a Patissiere so she can go to Paris and study at that academy. I really like how all the sweets in the anime look so cute and delicious making me hungry.

I have a huge amount of things to say about this anime. In my opinion, most annoying main character EVER. And the storyline was just so unrealistic it bothered me. First of all, how the hell does an amateur get into a high-end baker school. It's just not as simple as giving a good impression. It was unreal how Amano could become so skilled at baking so quickly. It just doesn't happen like that in real life. Something that just PISSED me off about Ichigo was how she wasn't able to take any kind of criticism. For example (kind of a spoiler I guess) The episodewhere the two guys tell Ichigo she has to work very hard for the next competitions and that it won't be easy any longer. And then she gets angry and runs off into a forest because she was that mad and causes trouble for everyone. like.. what the hell .. I was just so annoyed by how selfish and ungrateful she was sometimes. If she couldn't even take criticism like that, might as well not even be in the school. She was lucky enough to have been chosen to be in such a high class school. Aside from the annoying personality of the main character the story was pretty uncreative and kind of stupid. And the romance was just all too cliche. I'm going to end on a happy note. Even though I kind of hate this anime with a passion, for some strange reason it inspired me to bake, and I've been baking ever since. So thank you, yumeiro patissiere, for inspiring me but at the same time, I hate you for bothering me every time I watched an episode.

Yumeiro Patissiere was one of those animes that even though they aren't even that great, it was enjoyable. To be fair, I'm not very picky when it comes to anime, certainly not critical with it, but in this case, I think Yumeiro Patissiere is one of those animes that you can look past the imperfections and really just allow yourself to enjoy it. Story: 8/10 Almost no anime now-a-days has an original story line, so I think it's fair to say that while Yumeiro Patissiere doesn't have a very original or particularly strong story line, it deserves a decent score of 8, because at least it waseasy to follow. Yes, there were many fillers, and yes, the excessive amount did get annoying at times, but some of the filler was almost like a look inside the characters' minds! Just seeing how they interacted within filler episodes shows how they act, regardless if anything important to the plot is going on. The plot itself is basic, Amano Ichigo, a girl with no talent what so ever transfers to St. Marie, a prestigious school for sweets making, and well, of course she isn't very talented, so nothing particularly good can happen! However, learning to overcome obstacles (like the Cake Grand Prix) is what this series is all about, and that's all it really takes! There's the plot. Simple. Sweet. Easy-to-follow. It doesn't require much thought, which in itself is great, because it doesn't overwhelm your mind and you can just enjoy watching the series. Art: 7/10 Let's be reminded that this anime is intended for the viewing of children. I watched this series about 3 years ago, in 2010 and I was about 11 or so. I loved the art at that time! It was cute, sweet, and oh so adorable. As I rewatch the series now, okay the animation isn't the greatest. Many of the frames are plainly drawn, and only the actual animate objects in the frame are in immense detail. That's okay. Your eyes are supposed to be drawn to the main point on the scene anyway. Regardless, Yumeiro Patissiere demonstrates an intensive amount of work in their backgrounds/scenery, which helps set the atmosphere and obviously the enjoyment. Sweets are animated with care, which just showcases the whole point of the anime in the first place. Sound: 9/10 I have to be honest, the soundtrack to Yumeiro Patissiere is very well done. In my opinion of course. The OST is done beautifully, with about 30 tracks of different background pieces. The composition is very pleasing to the ear, and matches the anime correctly: soft and emotional during the slow parts, and adamant and upbeat during the intense, happy parts. The main theme song "Yume ni Yell! Patissiere" by Mayumi Gojo has an almost sparkly feeling, which suits the anime well. No less, "Ichigo no Miracle" by Sugihara Yukina is a repetitive catchy tune to close each episode. Character: 7/10 The characters of Yumeiro Patissiere follow the same pattern most shoujo anime take. Depending on your type of anime, this can be a good or bad thing. Amano Ichigo is they typical happy-go-lucky, always so darn optimistic, clumsy, dense heroine. She overcomes obstacles through hard-work, though sometimes it seems almost magical that she can actually pull stuff off. Like usual, she's got guys falling head over heels for her, and she can't tell. Ichigo suffers from being the ultimate stereotype of anime; which in a sense can get very repetitive and annoying. The sweet princes are fairly stereotypical as well, though thankfully, the anime does try to get into their past and family life a bit. Hanabusa Satsuki is the typical "prince" character, or the one that the heroine is should like more, but never ends up growing so close to the point of falling in love. He's on the verge of narcissistic, showing concern toward his own appearance. Though, he is very sweet when it comes to Ichigo, treating her very kindly, because of his self-goal to be kinder to women. Andou Sennosuke is the second sweet prince, probably the one who's character depth is the least explored. He's calm, often trying to prevent fights. He's the typical "geek" character, but less of a geek and more of just intelligent. Finally, Kashino Makoto, who personally is my favourite character in the series. Kashino is that prickly "jerk" character that the heroine always hates. And to be honest, it's quite obvious why. Kashino is rude and insensitive at the beginning of the series, often scolding and teasing Ichigo for her mistakes. However, his character does develop, and it becomes obvious that he plays an important piece in a 'wanted-to-be-but-didn't-work-out' love triangle. Despite their over-stereotypical personalities, your heart can seem to connect with the characters in some way, which is the whole point of their existence. Thus, the appropriate scoring is given to them. Enjoyment: 10/10 Okay, so maybe this is a little bit of a stretch; especially biased for me, since I watched this maybe 3 years ago and I was a child. I still am, basically. Yumeiro Patissiere was one of those animes that grew on me, partly because I had to sit on my hands and wait every Saturday for the newest episode to come out. I'll admit, Yumeiro Patissiere had me on the edge of my seat during the exciting bits, feeling empathy towards the characters, cooing over the cute moments, and overall just left me with an immense feeling of joy when I watched them. Thus, the perfect score. Overall: 8/10 Overall, Yumeiro Patissiere is a very light, fun, anime; suitable for anyone who's just looking for an anime to watch between a dark or ongoing anime or even just as a series to watch. It's sure to make you smile at least once, so go on, enjoy it! :)

Do you love baking? Do you love hints of romance? and more importantly, do you love sweets? If you do, you'll love this anime. Story: 8 The story was really enjoyable to see and was really cute, but nothing completely different from several other cooking/baking animes. The protagonist has a goal and want to achieve it, nothing completely new. Art: 8 Art isn't the best and it's honestly decent. I personally loved the art because it made them look cute and the sweets look gorgeous. Sound: 8 The voice actors fit the image of each characterEnjoyment: 10 I gave enjoyment a 10 because it was really cool to watch how to bake certain sweets. I liked how the anime is really just about making sweets for other peoples enjoyment which I find adorable. I re-watched this about 3 times already and it will never get old for me WATCH IT!

The main character-Ichigo, found a dream that was to make cake. Along the story, they met many rivals and challengers. Ichigo and her partners ( You will find out when you watch it ) all have "sweets spirits", and the "sweets spirits" have a queen...

If you are a shoujo and comedy fan, this is definitely for you. Although this is a cliched story line, you shoould still watch it-because this is the only subbed anime I know revolving around yummy sweets. This anime is about a girl who goes to achieve her dream, and meets tiny sweet spirits that help her. I have to say, this is quite disappointing. The spirits don't instantly make her a professional, but it is really ONLY the spirits that let her turn into an amazing patissier. I mean, without them, she would so be failing. And, here the maincharacters relax and get help from spirits and the other background characters have to work super hard without them? Although as the story progresses, you totally forget about most flaws... Also, the characters are cliched also. Amano Ichigo, our heroine, is the typical clumsy, peppy, work hard, dumb girl. However, it is because of this that there is good comedy, so I would let it slide. The others are fairly interesting. Hanabusa is a narcissist, which I don't see often. Andoh is the quiet kind and Kashino is the meanie who is often surprised by Ichigo's stupidity. The art is good, though. Although the eyes seem a bit big at times, it's decent for people wanting good art. Nothing like bokura ga ita or the wallflower. THE SWEETS LOOK BEAUTIFUL!!! So yummy. You actually learn stuff too. The music was average too. I actually downloaded the op. It's nice and fluffy, and not super repetitive like Pretty Rhythm's songs. I liked the sound effects. They made me laugh more!!! The voice actors quite matched the characters. The background music was really appropriate for their scenes. There is one more delta. The problems. Some of them are ok, but sometimes I think that the problem's reactions are too exaggerated, or maybe it was just not explained right. I couldn't empathize with why the characters were making a fuss sometimes. Also, there were some fillers. But the comedy was really good. Not stuff to make you ROFL, but decent enough! Plus, the Grand Prix makes it not a bunch of little problems, but new themes and new opponents and new obstacles. I loved seeing them overcoming them with creative yummy designs. Overall, this is a cutesy anime for shoujo fans. For most shoujo fans, this will be the close-to-perfect anime-good art, good comedy, inspiring storyline, the slightest touch of romance. Despite its flaws, I still recommend this. Its flaws are, despite how they seem, minor, and you find yourself smiling and laughing as you walk with a girl's journey to achieve her dream. It is very touching and makes a bullseye to your heart.

Yumeiro Patissiere. It's not exactly the most orginal storyline nor is it really that outstanding when you look at the plot. You may think; "Oh, just another typical anime" but let me tell you this, you've got that wrong. Okay, so the storyline might be a bit cliche. Okay, it's a bit girly and childish with fairies and magic and the main character always winning the competitions but honestly it's hard to stop when you start watching it and you can never get tired of watching it! Story: 8/10 Like I said earlier, it's not exactly the best storyline but it has it's perks! It getsreally interesting as the series progress. Just got to have some patience! Also, keep in mind that this anime targets children viewers, not adults therefore they need to keep the storyline simple so children don't have a hard time following. Art: 9/10 The art is awesome! It's fluent and well drawn. It brings out the childishness of the audience and keep in mind the targeted age group are children so it fits. Characters: 8/10 Most characters do develop in the course of the series with their personal backgrounds revealed and personalities clearly portrayed. Although, I would've liked to see Makoto-kun's feelings for Ichigo develop more. I wanted Makoto to show his love for Ichigo more! I wanted romanceee (kyaa~) But yeah, it's a kids show so i'll cut it some slack :) Enjoyment: 10/10 I absolutely enjoyed it! It was funny, cute and the I was really in to the baking and the making of sweets! I loved almost everything about the anime and I can't stop re-watching! I truly enjoyed this anime 100%! Overall, I gave this anime 10/10 because not even the lack of unique-ness of the storyline can make me unlike it. I might have re-watched this anime more than 10 times. It's just really that enjoyable. Plus, it made me want to eat sweets and learn to make them! GAVE ME INSPIRATION! So definitely 10/10 overall :)

this anime series will probably make you hungry when watching it. so i suggest that when you watch it you must be eating..XDD Yumeiro Patissiere is 50 episode anime that will give you the means of friendship and love. Story : 9 the story of yumeiro patisiere is not quite unique.. there are some anime that somewhat the same like this but this anime is the best.. the story of yumeiro patissiere is all about ichiog found her dream.. and that dream is to become a patiessiere.. so she entered st marie academy and she met a lot of friends.. Art : 10 the art of this anime isgood i love the eyes of every chara and it gives the modern type of art so you'll not be bored.. and the art of every sweets thet make is exactly what is the food in real life. Sound ; 9 the sounds and the background music is good and normal.. Character ; 10 the characters are well made and the idea of "sweet princes' is also great.. they have their own special abilities on making sweets... and also the fairies are all so cute.. ^^ enjoyment : 10 i really enjoyed this anime series.. it makes me want to go around the world and taste the sweets of all countries..XDD and i will really miss this series.. and of course all the characters..

Yumeiro Patissiere is not a series with a unique storyline but it is definitely enjoyable and you would not regret watching it. In my opinion, the first time I watched it, I find it a tad bit boring because this movie contains A LOT of fillers but the story progresses as you watch more episodes so do watch MORE episodes cause they will definitely get you hooked onto it. Story: 8/10 It was a so-so story, not an original story (Think: Gakuen Alice) A girl who has no talents in cooking except eating but she does has an incredible palate comes into the story, recommended by a famousPatissiere and she goes to school and tries to get accepted. But the story does get interesting as you watch more - to me, the part where they joined the Cake Grand Prix was REALLY interesting. It was so intense that I sometimes shudder at the thought of who won and who lose cause it is SO unpredictable that it makes the viewers wonder what will happen next. There is a little romance in the series which makes it really cute! At first, I thought the addition of the fairies were a little silly since all they did was just chant a few noises here and there but eventually, I noticed they do play an important role in cheering the Team up. I liked the chibi fairies and they were really cute especially Caramel-desu! Love her! And Cafe-kun of course. The concept of the Sweet Princes were interesting as well. Sound: 9/10 I LOVE the songs for the opening and the ending but I have to admit, the ending was more catchy :D Don't you DARE forget the background music (OST) They were INCREDIBLE. I loved the background music the most. Probably the best part of the series. You should take note of the background music from time to time asit really fits the mood. For example, the sad ones would be really sad. Try listening - it has a soft melodic touch to it. Sometimes during the competition part, they play those "nervous" music which is really a nice touch to the nervous mood of the episodes. Art: 9/10 I like the art. They were clean and crisp and the background is really nice. I'm a sucker for nice background art and it's important for them to look good. As for the desserts - DUDE, have you ever watched Yumeiro Patissiere and NOT get hungry? Cause I always tend to get hungry when I watch them. And I crave for chocolates - A LOT. Damn, these series sure makes me crave for sweets a lot even though I'm more of a fan of savoury. That proves the art is great ;) Character: 9/10 Amano Ichigo is very much alike as most female protagonists - optimistic, cheerful, tries her best in everything although she has no skills - they're quite cliche aren't they? But I love them because in my everyday life - each time I'm about to say "I can't do it" I would always think of these characters and wonder to myself - if they can, I can as well. So these characters are a really great addition to the story. The Sweet Princes - The characters are alright - Kashino being very mean spirited and all but that makes him really cute :3 Did I mention how much I love Hanabusa-kun's character? He is SO darn funny. Watch the series further to know more of his character. You would definitely love him. As for the rest- the sweet spirits, they were really cute as well! Cafe-kun is super adorable. Koshiro-san - one REALLY annoying girl that you would probably hate yet love because she's a great supporting character in the series. Enjoyment: 9/10: Overall, it's a great watch which makes me happy because looking at how hard someone works just to be on top and even though it ain't reality, it's always good to step out of reality once in a while and enjoy yourselves watching light-hearted anime. Overall: 8/10 Decent storyline but interesting as you progress. Definitely worth a watch ;)

A clumsy girl with no talent discover that she indeed have a secret talent and her life changes, does this sounds familiar? You can find the same plot in a lot of shoujo animes. But the question is: What makes Yumeiro Pâtissière such a enjoyable anime to watch? STORY (6/10) The story isn't something great, but let's face the reality: 90% of the animes aren't original, they all use a plot which has been used before and some try to innovate it by adding some plot elements that weren't used before... And I have to say that while fairies, reverse harems and boarding schools have been useda lot before, it's rare to see food and sweets as a main theme in a series. ART (9/10) The character designs are the same to all shoujos: The girls are well made but all boys are bishonens, this is already expected. The charm of this series are the sweets. Yes, the sweets that were projected by a real pâtissièr and can make anyone pause the video to eat something at the kitchen before watching the rest of the episode. SOUND (7/10) Music is a key point at any series, be it anime or not. As expected from a shoujo anime, the opening is sugary and have a catchy tune. The opening theme, Yume ni Yell! Pâtissière isn't the best single of the year, but cleary isn't the worst. The ending theme, Ichigo no Miracle, surprised me. Even tough I sometimes hate and/or skip ending themes, the music grew on me and I hear it regulary. CHARACTER (6/10) Can you spell unoriginal? We have the tipical clumsy sweethearted heroine, the bishonen blond that starts coldhearted love interest, the ambiguosly gay but straight narcissist and the sane guy. We also have other cliched characters like the clingy and jealous love rival and tsunderes. So, is every character boring? No. While you can find characters like them in other series, shoujo or not, they are all easy to like (Except Koshiro Miya, who started as a clingy jealous girl but at the end of the series is a obsessive manipulator and is hated by the fandom), and a character whose backstory and development amused me was Tennouji Mari, meanwhile her love interest, Henri Lucas, is the most unexplored character in the series. ENJOYMENT (10/10) What can I say? This is a cliched sugary series but it's nearly impossible to not love it. If you are a fan os sweets as much as I am, then it's absolutely impossible to dislike this anime. This anime is enjoyable and funny, and one of the best non-magical girl shoujos that I watched. OVERALL (7/10) Lame? Yes. Good? Also. Every anime has good and bad points, some have more better points, while others have more bad points, and while I say that Yumeiro Pâtissière has more bad points, the few good points make this one of the best shoujo anime I ever saw, even tough I can't help but remember Shugo Chara! every time I see the Sweet Spirits (Especially Caramal, who even shares Suu's verbal tic).

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS ANIME! :) Its not just a normal drama, or action anime. Its mostly about following your dream, baking, a little bit of romance, school, and friendship! so if your interested in these, i think youd LOVE this anime as much as i did! This anime really inspired me of finding a talent, and yah. Especially the main character, Ichigo Amano is one of my biggest inspiration now, i want to be just like her. I love her character and i think the story is really good! They made episodes where you can know more about each character's background and you learnmore about them. Every time i finish an episode it leaves me hanging, and i just want to watch more! Ive watched this season about two times and it never gets old! I also love the development between Ichigo and the Sweet Princes! I also really love this anime is also because I LOVE CAKES AND SWEETS in real life! So it also inspired me to bake more, and i hope it inspires you too :D

Spoilers ahead. What are little girls made of? Sugar and spice and everything nice, that’s what little girls are made of. Fifty episodes. Ichigo remains sweet and kind through fifty episodes of crepe-making, dough-kneading, chocolate-tempering mayhem. She is partnered with the Sweets Princes, three boys each uniquely gifted in his own area of sweets-making. Each human is paired with a miniature Sweets Fairy in training. That makes eight members, and eight is the perfect number for a team: Team Ichigo, Happy Happy Macaroon, Happiness Made Go! The problem is that Ichigo is all thumbs, with a proclivity to trip over her own feet, down the stairs andonto her face. But with the help of her Sweets Princes and her Sweets Fairy, Ichigo works hard to build the skills needed to showcase her genius sense of taste and preternatural ability to read people’s hearts (not only is she able to taste FIRST LOVE in a pastry, but she specializes in sweets that make others smile). Faster than you can make Friendship Maccha Gateau Chocolat, Team Ichigo is ready to enter the Cake Grand Prix. To quote Hannibal Lecter paraphrasing Marcus Aurelius, “Of each particular thing ask: what is it in itself? What is its nature?” Yumeiro Patisserie in itself is a pastry. It is the nature of a pastry to be enjoyed. Even Chekhov, who didn’t approve of artists as pastry chefs, might have reconsidered had he met Ichigo. Irascible Kashino is tempered by her warmth. Perfect Tennouji is baffled by her affability. In the end, Ichigo stands atop the baking world with a dream strawberry tart that would make her grandmother proud, and only a real curmudgeon wouldn’t be happy about that. Three obligatory remarks: First, the animation is straight-forward, the backgrounds drawn without much depth, and most frames are suffused with light. The character designs are shiny and flat. Ichigo actually seems to grow taller and less childish by the end of the series. Second, the music. The theme with the whimsical flute playing off the clarinet was fitting, reminiscent of the Dance of the Mirlitons. Third, voice characterizations. Caramel’s voice was adorable. The rest fell somewhere within the spectrum of nasal and high-pitched, with Miya the heiress’s laugh as the tonal equivalent of fingernails on the chalkboard. Grade: C+ but only because Miya’s voice provoked me.

This is a very lovely show to watch. Be warned if you are a girl and you have watched 1, you are bound to watch the rest of them in a very rapid pace :D. The story flows so well. There are short side stories that build up the storie that lasts 1 episodes and some 3, but they all are centered to the main storie: Amano Ichigo wanting to be a patissiere. Really this is a must see!
