Before the context is lost in a few years, YOASOBI, the band, has been a sensation in the world of J-Pop for a while, not only leaving a humongous fingerprint on the Japanese pop scene, it also in the Anime medium. They have been slaying every other song they do, only bangers and never a miss. But I feel like Idol was the moment they really took over the podium and are as close to being the Anime song face in the industry, and I think that’s still an understatement of how influential and popular this song got. The whole context of this opening is someta in nature, as it doesn't touch on the whole “Idol” topic with a blend of melancholy and dark undertones whilst also remaining very upbeat and lucky feeling, nailing the style that YOASOBI is known for. Enough about the song itself, as I’ll never do it justice trying to paint it as the main star when it’s even bigger than that. the visuals were stunning, amazing, and head-bopping as well, it almost tells a tale on its own, I could watch it on mute and still hear the beat inside my skull.

The animation and the song are just masterpieces. Most definitely one of the best songs ever created by yoasobi. The lyrics are spot on which really describes the dark side of society which almost all famous people go through. It really shows an entire story on its own. People say "The rap part is bad" or what not but the rap part is required for it to really hit hard. The animation is simple but the simplicity really makes it stand out because it shows everything it needs to and most of the story telling is done through the music. If you dont like it,go watch the anime or read the manga, then go read the english translation of the song while listening to it. Its great.

One of the most important things for an anime opening/music video is arguably the music. Considering the fact that this song managed to top the global (excluding US) billboard, this is about as good as you're going to get in that department. It's also kind of poetic that the song about the most popular idol was this popular. You don't need to watch Oshi no Ko to enjoy this song but watching Oshi no Ko adds a lot to the animation and lyrics. Overall the animation in the music video is good and pleasing to look at. The lyrics are entirely about Hoshino Ai andthere are several great references to things that happen in the anime, characters, events and what the anime is fundamentally about. I honestly doubt it's possible to make a more suitable anime opening/music video. Overall this song is definitely worth listening to considering how insanely popular it managed to become. Watching Oshi no Ko makes the song even better since you'll understand what the lyrics and animation are about.

It was mid, But also as with everything its subjective. I went into this expecting a good anime op, and for the the visuals is really did a great job meeting that. Though i don't really think it differ much from other yoasobi tracks it doesn't really matter. In the end the animations, visuals and pacing is good. The same could not be said for the song itself though. The writing, in my opinion is fine. The lyric has multiple reference to the anime story, mentioning the character names, calling out how they act according to anime n stuff. Overall this fits pretty well with the visuals. Howeverthe reason i don't really like this track as the anime's opening is the melody. The chorus is fine, typical j-pop imo. But i don't really like rap-trap ish of the intro and verses, It just feels out of place for this anime and even for the song itself. It gives me conflicting feeling and not in a good way like yoasobi's other tracks. To recap, lyric is fine, visual is fine, Hated the trap-rap of the verses. Still did put it in my playlist but I'm not gonna put it on repeat like Tsuyu or yorushika though.

This review will be short. But I got nothing to say much since this is a ~4 minute music video. The entire song is catchy, but overall, the lyrics and themes are boring and generic. Like come on, can you get more creative than saying that being an idol is nothing more than lies or the fans are being fake with you? So many other previous songs have already been created about these themes and this song only gotten popular because it got played in the anime's first episode and being its OP. There are plenty more better songs than this.

I have watched the MV "Idol" and I must say, the animation is incredibly generic and uninspired. The movements of the characters lack creativity and the overall visuals do not stand out at all. I have seen better animation from underground authors with no real budget. As for the music, I won't comment much on it as it sounds incredibly generic and lacks any real originality. The overall production is a complete goyslop, and I cannot say that I am impressed by it at all. It's unfortunate to see such a lack of creativity and originality in the anime industry these days. Regarding YAOISOBI, I must saythat their music is not to my personal taste. In fact, I find their music to be quite brain-damaging and lacking in artistic merit. However, I understand that taste in music is subjective, and what may not appeal to me may be loved by others. Ultimately, it's up to each individual to decide whether or not they enjoy YAOISOBI's music.

I want people to remember this is based on the song and video not the anime, I see many reviews bombing the anime. First it’s a yaosobi song so immediately extra points. Second, the song has meaning to it behind the show and novel which adds onto it more which also gives extra points for me. Third of all, the animation and art is amazing. Finally, the songs just good. I don’t understand this being marked as a series but hey the music videos pretty good and I recommend checking it out for yourself!!!!!! It’s not perfect. No captions is one thing and non fansmight not get it so a point docked for me but overall 9/10. Stop reading this go watch it!!!!

A nice AMV, but nothing to listen to on repeat for 13 hours a day. The visuals are top-notch, and every scene seems animated with love and affection. On top of that, many of them show some hidden meaning and convey the soul of the story pretty well, so there is not much to discuss there. Now, it is the music what brings me conflicted feelings. In its base is a mixture of jpop with some rap-ish segments which do the job of not making it feel repetitive and hype up the chorus part; however, if you are a strong rap detractor like me, these kill thevibes of the whole song and make it harder to relisten to. Other than that, the song has a (very) catchy chorus and well-done high vocals (sasuga Yoasobi) so you should definitely give it a try. In the end, as with most things anime, it depends on your taste.

Literal visual eye candy. Every second is a blast to watch, and every beat of the song is entrancing and sparkling (much like the titular character Ai Hoshino). A must-watch for Yoasobi fans, AMV [Animated Music Video] fans, and "Oshi no Ko fans"! There's something for everybody in this music video, and the 23+ million views on YouTube (as of April 20th, 2023) are much deserved. I can't wait to see what else both Yoasobi and "Oshi no Ko" have in store for the anime and music worlds! The flashiness was the only aspect of the music video that may be off-putting to some viewers.
