My True Self Awakened: There are some anime you watch, and there are some anime you are called to. Some anime you absorb — and some anime that reaches into your soul, rips out the trembling, sticky, honey-stained mess of who you were, and whispers: You were never meant for the bottom tier. You are the genius in hiding. You are the one they’ve been waiting for. For me, that anime is Classroom of the Elite. I wasn’t just watching it. I was remembering. Each frame, each cold smirk of Ayanokoji, each blank stare hiding a superior intellect — it wasn’t fiction. It was a mirror. A prophecy. Anencrypted message delivered from Japan directly to me, a 34-year-old recluse crouched on a creaky gaming chair, surrounded by a circle of unopened Monster Energy cans and three months of dirty laundry. I paused the screen. I leaned closer. “That’s me,” I whispered. “That’s me.” Ayanokoji: My Mask, My Reflection, My Birthright Ayanokoji isn’t just a character. He’s the template. The genetic blueprint of the man I always knew I could be — if not for society, gravity, metabolism, and my mother constantly banging on my door to ask if I’ve applied for jobs yet. Every time he manipulates a classmate, I grin. Every time he lets someone underestimate him, I nod, understanding. Every time a girl blushes in his direction, I pause the screen. I lean in, tracing the outline of her cheeks with a trembling finger on the monitor, and I murmur, “Yes, baby. You’ll be mine. You just don’t know it yet.” Classroom of the Elite is not simply a story of academic intrigue. It is a harem-building masterclass for the patient, the cunning, the overlooked. The anime dares to ask: What if you could outwit everyone without ever raising your voice? What if every girl, even the coldest tsundere, secretly wanted you, but didn’t even know it yet? I watch as Horikita challenges Ayanokoji. I smile knowingly. “Keep resisting, queen,” I whisper. “We both know how this ends.” I watch as Kushida bats her eyes, pretending innocence. “Your secrets are safe with me, baby,” I mutter. “I see you.” I watch as Ichika lounges in the background. “Soon,” I vow. “Soon.” A Show Made for the Silent Kings Critics call Classroom of the Elite “a dark satire of meritocracy,” “a commentary on systemic inequality.” Fools. No — this anime was forged in the sacred fires of wish fulfillment, tempered in the steel of “revenge on the popular kids who never invited me to their parties,” and anointed with the holy oil of “every girl is secretly in love with me, she’s just playing hard to get.” It is the anime made for us: — For the boy who sat in the back of class, hoodie up, headphones in, convinced he could destroy everyone in a debate if he felt like it. — For the guy who rewatches Death Note and imagines himself as Light, but hotter, with more girls, and less “dying at the end.” — For the recluse who scrolls through r/anime waifu tournaments and rants aloud at the “rigged” results while eating cold rice straight from the tub. Aesthetic and Narrative Perfection The visuals? Sharp, clinical, dripping with subtle menace — like a high school designed by a Bond villain. Every hallway glows under fluorescent lights like an interrogation chamber. Every classroom scene crackles with unspoken tension, the kind that makes me pause the episode and imagine what I’d say in their place. The writing? Genius. Every plot twist is a power fantasy surgically implanted into the brain of a horny, bitter recluse who imagines himself orchestrating social dominance while never breaking a sweat. Every dialogue exchange a hidden cue that everyone is secretly in love with you, they just don’t realize it yet. And the girls — oh, the girls. Not just love interests. Achievements. Badges. Collectibles. Each one represents a different flavor of feminine conquest: the icy challenge (Horikita), the bubbly mask (Kushida), the shy follower, the flirty wildcard. A lineup curated like a digital gacha, begging to be unlocked. I don’t merely watch them. I plan for them. I write their names in my notebook. I doodle hearts beside them. I assign dates when each one will fall for me, once I transfer into Class 1-D in my dreams. The Final Verdict: A Shrine to Our Delusions Classroom of the Elite is not just anime. It is a manifesto, a guidebook, a coded message to every recluse, every honey-slurping, waifu-collecting, sweatpants-wearing virgin boy who believes, deep down, that he is destined for more — for power, for control, for the entire harem route unlocked by pure 4D chess-level manipulation. It is the anime made for us, the men too brilliant to shine yet, the kings lying dormant under layers of fat, fear, and Funko Pops. So I watch again. And again. And again. Each episode, my notes deepen. Each pause, my fantasy grows. Each smile from Horikita, my resolve strengthens. Someday, I whisper to the dark screen, someday: “I will be Ayanokoji. I will bang them all. And none of you will stop me.”

Classroom of the Elite review. Plot: (=) Although off to a slow and confusing start, after season 2 started it picked up pace and we saw the rise and developments of not only Ayanokōji the MC but many “villains” and other geniuses in the school. The plot was really interesting to watch, consisting of many different classes battling in such genius ways and many different special tests. This plot was really unique and certainly very interesting. Surprisingly brilliant storyline for a school based anime. However, some may still find the plot confusing and it is arguable that the plot had no overall progression but just the classesfighting. Characters: (+) This one is obvious. Not only do we have the coldest main character Ayanokoji, but many really intriguing characters. They all developed and learned and even the perfect human Ayanokoji learns things throughout the anime. All the characters are very interesting and fight in their own genius ways, but their personality isn’t exaggerated so much and are realistic. Either way all the characters brought their own unique personality and were all interesting to watch. Sound: (=) Since it’s not an action packed anime, there weren’t many places for possible cool sounds. Just normal sounds you would expect to hear from something based around a school, like the sounds of people speaking at a canteen, sounds of footsteps, papers, e.t.c. However, the voice actors were good, great voice acting from all of them which really added and fit to each of their characters. Ayanokoji had a particularly notable voice which really suits him. Art: (+) The art was stunning. All of the school, nature, and characters looked amazing throughout the anime. However, a noticeable quality drop appeared in the art after the second half of S2, but everything still looked fine. It is also necessary to consider the fact that Lelerch are under pressure from many fans urging the production to go faster. Overall, the art throughout the anime was fairly consistent and really nice to look at. Also, in the manga the art was absolutely beautiful. I hope they will have art like those in the mangas. Animation: (=) Again, there isn’t much potential in cool animations for an anime which isn’t revolving around fighting and any action. The animation was smooth, clean, and looked pleasing to the eye. Apart from that there is not much else to say about the animation. It was good. Overall: I think COTE was a really interesting and awesome anime to watch. By season 2 I was hooked and it was really fascinating to see just how smart some of the students were (obviously Ayanokoji) and the different ways in which he manipulated everything left me intrigued and shocked. The anime rounded off nicely in S3 and I look forward to a bright future for COTE with upcoming seasons, they still need to finish Y2 and Y3 for the anime! 2(+) 3(=) 9/10.

Classroom of the elite is an absolutely disappointing dog pile that trample everything it trying to build up.This show is the definition of stupidity diguse as intelligent. It has a very interesting storyline about a school set up as an environment for students to compete each other, which it made to promise about a psychological thriller with high stake battle between people with people but this is where the problem start. The show supposed to show the intelligence of the students but all the strategy it use are really simple and one dimensional with no back up or consequence that make the intelligence not very convincing andalso make the show has no stakes because we know the main character will never lose. And a lot of things the students do just explain as "they predict it" and no more explanation as if the author can't really explain it and just make it to be a cool moment. The show itself is very shallow in the fan service that express through how the camera angle work and the degine of the female character. The character is very poorly-written too The protagonist, Kiyotaka Ayanokoji, is painfully dull. He’s portrayed as an emotionless genius, but his lack of personality makes him more of a plot device than a character. He doesn't grow, doesn't change, and worst of all, doesn't seem to care about anything, making it hard for viewers to invest in his story. His aloof attitude may be intended to create mystery, but it ends up making him unrelatable and flat. The supporting cast isn’t much better. Most of them are one-dimensional stereotypes: the cold, ambitious Suzune Horikita is just your typical "smart but distant" girl, while characters like Kikyou Kushida are written with such exaggerated duality that they come off as cartoonish rather than complex and some character that have no meaning to tehe storyline like Sukura who just make to be the main character crush that slowly build up a slow-burning harem which has in the most morderm romcom has.The power competing between the students are reduced to shallow manipulations that lack real stakes or depth, and the show tries too hard to seem edgy but in reality it know well what it is about not a psychological battle show with many learning about human nature and the harshly reallife but rather an slice of life romcom show that offer no meaning to the things that it trying to set up from the first episode. Visually, the show is competent but nothing special. The character designs are generic, and while the animation is clean, it’s not enough to save a series that’s weighed down by its uninspired writing and overreliance on cheap psychological tricks. The environment is very bad too,a school with point system and a city that have anything you need in real life. That is a cool idea but the author never truly explored the deeper the nature and mechanism of this school to create more strategic potential. This is what the low-skill writer would do, instead of putting the characters straight in real world, they optimised it to be a small world because they don't have enough experience to comprehend how harsh the real world is. Conclusion, this show is just a mediocre psychological show that trying to be something deep with many layers of meaning but turn out to be no more than a guilty pleasure show.

I've been following this series since the beginning, and I've gotta say, it just keeps getting better and better. The characters, the plot twists, the themes... everything is just so masterfully crafted. I've never been so invested in an anime before. Ayanokouji, Horikita, and the rest of the gang are back, and they're just as complex and lovable as ever. I swear, Ayanokouji's deadpan reactions are my spirit animal. And Horikita's growth? Unbelievable. She's like a whole new person. But what really gets me is the way the show tackles social commentary. I mean, it's not just about the education system anymore - it's about classism, privilege,trauma... it's like the show is speaking directly to my soul. And that ending?! I'm still trying to process everything that happened. I won't give away any spoilers, but let's just say I'm ANXIOUSLY WAITING FOR SEASON 4. Like, I need it now. Overall, I'd give Classroom of the Elite Season 3 a solid 10/10. It's a thought-provoking, emotionally draining, and utterly captivating ride that'll keep you guessing until the very end.

Hello as a show I absolutely recommend this. However keep it that way, only be a watcher and don't be a reader. I had the pleasure of reading the LN this past month before watching the show and I honestly ruined the show for myself. The LN is leaps and bounds better where a good amount of things that wasn't animated was animated. It just didn't feel like the show had the feelings that some of the characters should have had, the master plan of each interaction that Ayanokoji had, or just the other views that people had. The new villainalso was pretty rushed, in the LN he was introduced slowly and made more appearances. Im getting offtrack and just ranting about the LN now. Show is still good, however if you want a super in depth thought process of Ayanokoji. Highly recommend the light novel.

This particular season of "Classroom of the Elite" is a big ball of mess, there was definitely development, but that development is very much hindered by the abysmal pacing that have been a reoccurring theme of this show. It has been like this since the first season, but this season made it even worse as it just lacks the emotional attachment for the watchers to the characters, they are not flashed out enough to the point of caring for them, even if there is 3 seasons of this, it feels like watching season 1 all over again. So the story and pacing of the storyis still bad. But what COTE is good at is making openings, the only thing that keeps me of watching the anime is literally ZAQ making the opening for each season as it's really good. Each opening does a good job in making the show more interesting, with the lyrics like "zuqzwang" mentioned, I do really appreciate ZAQ for the annual opening. The art itself is consistent from the previous seasons, but the background is really making this anime bland, it really feels like they have no intention of making this good, even with 3 TRIES. Maybe I should've not expected it to be good, maybe, but I do wish for some changes for the 4th season, but it seems like it would not happen.

It's even difficult to review this season, since I've considered it a bad anime since the first season, but I keep watching because... I confess that I don't even know anymore. This season had some glimpses of quality but they were quickly replaced by the same crude, clichéd and predictable scenes as always. The staff definitely does not know how to work on this anime, as it is impossible for such an acclaimed and renowned novel to have content that is so empty, predictable and often offensive to those who watch it. In addition to the weak direction, the anime's animation is getting worse and worse, with several completely static scenes and rough transitions. Speaking of the narrative, the story advanced a few places until its resolution but it's as if nothing changed, everything continues the same way it started this season (in sensations), even though there were several events that in theory should change the course of the story a little. Perhaps the big event regarding the future of the work and its protagonist was in, literally, the last scene of this season. I can't even convince myself to keep watching anymore, but I probably will because I've already wasted so much of my life watching that now it's become a matter of honor to go to the end.

The 3rd season of Classroom of the Elite was nothing short of amazing, and has maintained its standards after its first and second season. It has met the expectations I had set for this season, in terms of the drama, plots, twists, and of course, the main character, Kiyotaka Ayanakoji (and his persuit to learn more about human behavoiur and his intricit plans to climb up to class A and stay in the High School). More and more students are beginning to uncover Ayanakoji's true abilities, so it will be exciting to see how he goes about getting his class to class A in theupcoming seasons. If you're looking for an anime full of drama and plot twists, intellectual young students battling it out to come out on top, as well as a captivating story line and a quite intriguing main character, I will most definetely recommend this anime. Always a joy to watch Classroom of the Elite and I have no doubt that next season is going to be even better.

This is a binge worthy anime. However, to be completely honest, this show does suffer from the classic fate of most anime with an "unparalleled genius" as it's MC. That is - it's really not that smart. If you're able to ignore that part, and treat it like a soap opera-esq character drama, it's very entertaining. Our MC gets away with pretty much everything he wants due to very hand-wavy "he can read people to such an extent that he knows exactly how they will react". He's also randomly just like, incredibly strong. He doesn't really have much of a character arc either, butit's really funny to watch all these girls fall in love with him when his expression literally never changes and he speaks in the most sarcastic know-it-all way. There's a really large cast and most of them get their time in the spotlight, but again, do not think any deeper than surface level about anything that's happening. If you can take it all at face value you'll certainly be rewarded. Otherwise, you'll probably just think it's stupid.

Story (9) : More or less it's good, but many people say that a lot of the light novel is skipped. I also feel that this anime has a lot of scenes that are skipped to speed up the story, like the special exam in the last episodes. The competition started very quickly so we didn't really feel the sensation of the competition. But I like the plot of this anime leading to this. Hopefully in season 4, the director finds the pieces to make it better Characters (9) : The characters in this anime are really highlighted, so we are starting to get to knowtheir personalities, then here Ryuen has also returned, which I like as a character. Koenji is also starting to show his personality. Many characters join this season and are implemented well in each scene Visual (9) : The visuals in season 3 are a highlight because they are better than seasons 1 & 2. These visuals are like what the slice of life or school life genre should be. and in this anime brings very sharp visuals such as the environment and the characters. What I like most is the visual exam in the mountains at the beginning of the episode. Audio (9) : The audio is fine, I quite like the opening and also the OST in each scene. especially the Ichinose scene with the sailor Ichinose OST

Classroom of the Elite season three is... fine. It's funny, somewhat endearing, gives off the illusion of intelligence, and is overall an excusable package for the most part. But it honestly falls short of expectations. And to be blunt, is a disappointment. After the first season I had expectations of building quality, and after the second one I had expectations of decent quality and a lot of fun, but this installment offered neither of those and instead a frustrating drama that tried to be deep but felt shallow, leading me to wonder if there was anything there in the first place. In terms of plot, thisseason doesn't pick up literal minutes after the previous ends like that of season two, it begins with the crew, now class C, arriving at the scene of their next test, a mixed training camp. This is a test including students from all three years which allows characters like Manabu Horikita, Suzune's brother, sometime in the spotlight. This arc is pretty fun, it sets the stage for the main focus of this season, Sakayanagi, for some reason. I figured this anime would be like 4 seasons, this one would be about Class B and Ichinose, and then there would be a final season focusing on Class A. That's far from the case though. It's going to be much, much longer than that... Overall, this season carries the plot forward fine. It's always trying out new ideas and I appreciate that, but going into the season it had a feel that this was something of a conclusion, if not of the series at least of a beginning saga, and it definitely had its moments, but that conclusion in and of itself kind of fell flat. It essentially confirms all the things I was afraid of; I gave many of the unsavory tropes of the first two seasons the benefit of the doubt, it's become apparent this show is just frustratingly written. In terms of writing quality, it disappointed me in many ways, especially character writing. I keep giving Ayanokoji the benefit of the doubt because of all the acclaim his character garners, I can't shake the feeling that there is depth in his character, it's just taking a long, long time to get there it seems, it can be rather bothersome to wait though as he seems like a very bland and honestly frustrating attempt at a "dark cool character who's more than meets the eye", Perhaps I just have to let it play out. The closest parallel I can draw is "Big Dog" Roman Reigns. Not the Tribal Chief (Whom I acknowledge for the record), the version that was bland and constantly won for other reason besides "being a winner makes people like you" or something like that. Sakayanagi and Ichinose were two characters who left me rather underwhelmed. Much less in Sakayanagi's instance, she's a good character that I just had lofty expectations for. It somewhat feels like Ayanokoji being the annoying way he is hurts Sakayanagi and stunts her development. Going further into this enters spoiler territory, so I'll leave it at that. Ichinose is a much worse case, however. It makes it apparent the frustrating flaws this show has in writing female characters that don't show their heads with every one of them, but the majority. Sakayanagi and Horikita are somewhat outliers. Going into minor spoiler territory, the biggest issue in character writing is the fact that they undermine the intelligence and legitimacy of every single character besides two of them, every single character besides those two feels rather unimportant after that. Among first year students, anyway. In terms of visuals and music, it looks relatively the same as the other ones, which is good, not much to say on this matter, no complaints here though. The opening is... not great, the first two openings by ZAQ were pretty good, but this one failed to live up to the standard those set up, it's just so loud and for what? The endings, both by Yui Ninomiya, are good, the second one "Fixer" is my personal favorite. In conclusion, Classroom of the Elite season three was a letdown, but perhaps it was just me realizing all the negative things that were always true about the series. I've now come to the realization that this show isn't building to any masterful climax, and that this is just how this series is, what I mistakenly thought was flawed by design to eventually be expanded upon seems to just be shallow writing. It's not a bad anime, it's still all the dumb fun it was in season two, albeit to a lesser extent, it's safe to say I expected something more though. I saw a lot of Oregairu in this anime at first, but that comparison quickly dissolved as what seemed like intelligent writing in the first two seasons stops and never builds into anything more, leaving them as just interesting concepts and nothing more. And while there is some creativity in the challenges these kids face, every predicament ends in just the same way, slowly removing any semblance of stakes it ever had by giving every issue the same conclusion. Perhaps a payoff is coming, and it'll all make sense and I'll look like a fool, but I have little confidence in that happening at this point. Overall, this is a show in which the appeal lies in the ability to just enjoy rather ridiculous drama and have fun with it. And if that's what you're looking for, it's fun and you'll probably be happy with it, even though it's not as endearing as the first two seasons. However, if you're looking for something well written and thought-provoking, you'll be disappointed, as this is a very bland drama if you try to take it seriously, I still can't tell if you're supposed to or not, though. 6/10

Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e 3rd Season (2024) This is where my journey began, we entered April 2024 and I thought is it time to start this, I awaited the new season to start, gander at the previous season and saw this in its 3rd season and thought, you know what, Let's go!!! The show I watched in order, I binged it, got to this point on the 08th of April 2024 after going for it between work, I am not disappointed. The show has progressed, fast, hard and heavily. So much happens, maybe the first 2 episodes were not the best but theywere not the worst. For someone who hasn't read the novels I was confused by the hate for the paper shuffle but then it did seem rushed, apparently that was a good thing, so let us take it as a blessing. The rest of the season rocked, it got deeper and remember WATCH OUT FOR AFTER CREDIT SCENES. Sometimes they happen and sometimes they don't, sometimes they add little and other times people get asked out!! The stakes have never been higher in this season and it shows. The art looks better than ever, more polished but the same style, great job for getting the same studio, that's 4 out of 4 now for Studio Lerche. This show has kept the same style the entire way through, it feels like watching a show with the same actors each time because you have seen them grow without anything wacky happening in the art. The voices are still superb, and the background music and intro/outro are great. The best, however, is that quiet bit of instrumental you get when a big thing is happening with the progression of a character. The characters grow and grow and grow, but never once do they forget who they are as hard as that may be. Some people think they are done, and what can they do now, but they pull it back thanks to the cast, especially Ayanokouji. Other's come out as villains and are defeated but they will be back, they always come back. Ayanokouji goes through so much, deals with so much and even has an amazing scene after the credits of the final episode that makes him look so genuine that you can't but rewatch that moment. Watch it. The show has hit season 3, I want it to hit season 4, I want it to be completed, I want to see them graduate and even have a nice OVA to show the future with a time skip. Equally, I would love to cross over, I'd love a show to cross the characters into others like with 'Your Name' and 'Weathering With You'. This show deserves to be remembered, it needs to continue. Let us hope for season 4 and beyond.

To start off my 100th review ever on myanimelist, this season was very good. I'm glad we didn't have to wait 5 years for another season. It started off a bit slow at first but started building later. Like the previous season, we get the usual game aspects with even tougher challenges, but I can feel a sort of shift in the overall story as the games aren't as long anymore, and they're leaning more and more into Ayanokoji's backstory as the episodes progress. This season's ultimate focus was his relationship with Sakayanagi, the class rep of class A, and how he would triumph againsther antics. This season pretty much completes his evaluation of all the students within his grade level, like how last season was about the previous class C and Ryuen. Though what I noticed most is how Ayanokoji is secretly building up allies from all different areas. I can't help but feel that this is building up to something big beyond the games they play at school, maybe something we will see in S4 or maybe S5. Though even with some surprises, things are going Ayanokoji's way as he continues to gain knowledge and learn more about the students, staff, and the school. Definitely didn't expect that ending of the last episode, but that's definitely an Ayanokoji thing to do. The music is great. Love listening to the opening and endings. Overall: Solid 9. It was a great season, and I can't wait for season 4.

The third season of Classroom of the Elite is very similar to the previous season. While the story and special exams remain interesting, they still feel very rushed. Watching this anime feels like a story trying to rush through the boring stuff as quickly as possible to get to an interesting part but in this case the boring stuff it's rushing through is actually interesting and it's a shame that the anime has such high pacing. The story in the third season continues where the second season left off but shifts away from Ryuuen and starts focusing more on Sakayanagi and Ichinose. Smaller characters likeHirata and Kouenji also receive some attention though and there's quite a lot of character development overall with Ayanakouji being the obvious exception since he remains the "people are just tools" guy. The story also still doesn't give nearly enough information for you to come up with your own ideas about how situations should be solved so all you can do while watching is see what Ayanokouji comes up with. The animation is quite okay overall but there is some CGI. CGI was also used during a pretty significant chess match which was kind of weird since it's an important event and not some background noise. The voice acting was great and so was the music, they both suited the characters/anime well. Overall the biggest problem with this anime is probably it's fast/rushed pacing. However if you enjoyed season two which shared a similar problem, then you'll probably like this season as well.
Tiago_Vaz_007
The production is consistent and reasonable, but it's in the plot that this season stands out, maintaining a constant intrigue throughout all episodes, surpassing by far the previous seasons. Although the first season has an excellent first half and a disastrous second half, except for the last episode, and the second season presents an exciting final arc, along with some sporadic episodes or scenes, it's in the third season that the quality remains consistently high. However, the climaxes don't reach the same elevated levels as in the other seasons. Nonetheless, there are excellent character and relationship developments, along with the best hook of the work, concluding with something that a large part of the audience wanted and expected. An exception in the final arc is a character's haircut, something nobody wanted. There's a persistent issue in Classroom of the Elite that affects all seasons, but it was significantly mitigated in this third season, and this merit must be acknowledged. The many changes from the original material, especially the reduction in the number of students in the classrooms, caused disorganization in certain aspects of the narrative. However, the biggest annoyance is that the cuts made didn't solve the problem of the abundance of characters. Instead, they created a new problem that compounded the previous one. Many characters only have sporadic relevance, remaining in the background most of the time. This often leads to confusion in identifying characters, swapping, or forgetting some, resulting in a less immersive experience. Furthermore, this season continues to present adaptations that, compared to the manga, lack more detailed explanations, resulting in quick explanations or even explanation cuts. However, it's worth noting that the explanation issues are less severe than in the second season. Some final considerations: the case of the characters Kei and Ichinose is emblematic, as despite being charismatic, they end up occupying the space that previously belonged to Horikita, which is extremely frustrating.

The anime is great. It's one of the most unique anime one would be curious and would consider watching it. First of all, it has great art style. Second of all, the plot is awesome. It leaves people who watched it with curiousity and excitement. The anime has a mix of mind games, bits of action and slice of life parts(just a bit though). It is definitely an anime one would not regret watching. It feels sad but also kind of happy that this season is done. The fact that viewers realize something they don't for every episode definitely adds up the greatness of this anime.Overall, this anime is one of the best anime(at least for me). It has been my fav since 2020 when I first started watching the first season. I hope they will announce for a season 4 because this anime can't end yet. There are still a lot of volumes to adapt and the anime's rating is decent and it's quite popular.

Classroom of the elite season 3 is great for Anime only's and just about good for LN readers as it did have some good adapted scenes and lot of cut content which is to be expected for, It's not possible to adapt everything. I believe COTE is popular because of 3 things, 1> Ayanakoji The GOAT, 2> Waifu's and 3rd one is the mind games and psychological aspects of the show. IF you ask me the anime covers the cool moments pretty well and waifu's and psychological aspects not so well. Certainly I am truely an excepton as being the only being who dont give F abouthow much content is being cut, why bother and give your useless hatered to the anime community! If you want to witness the growth and the psychological aspects of the show properly I suggest you to read the Light novels, It's pretty simple isn't it? Animation wise this season is very consistant compared to 2nd season. Art wise it's the same, season 1 animation and art remains the best till date. Music is something I have observed that most of the people ignore about Cote which is just sad as the music in my opinion is just briliant, it captivate and enhances the scenes quit seemlessly. Story is neglected what I mean is some scenes which could or should have made a lot of scenes much better for the viewers weren't there. Like a garden stripped of its blossoms, this light novel suffers from the ruthless shearing of its narrative, leaving behind a tale deprived of its full bloom, a whisper of the captivating story it could have been. I rated it based on my love towards the Light novels and of course Ayanokoji, If I have to rate objectively as how it should be rated based on the actual story of the anime I would have rated it around 6.5 stars. As we bid farewell to this chapter of our journey, let us not lament the closing pages, but instead, embrace the anticipation that swirls within us like the promise of a new dawn. For just as the seasons ebb and flow, so too shall our story continue, beckoning us to linger in hope, awaiting the vibrant hues of the next season's tale. Hope is a good thing and so I hope for season 4 of Cote.

By this point you know what you’re going to get with these You Zitsu seasons. Good to great experience for anime onlies and an awful experience for fans of the source material. YZ season 3 is more of the same. If you’ve enjoyed the series to this point and are presumably anime only, you’ll love season 3. It covers the climax and conclusion of the first school year and has some of the hypest moments in the story. If you’re like me, a LN reader you’ll find this to be another abomination from Lerche and at this point are probably just watching to seehow bad it gets. As an anime only viewer this season will probably come off as really thrilling and engaging. There’s a lot of twists and turns and the exam stakes are upped tremendously. In particular, Suzune’s development as a leader and the external forces getting involved at the school are the big highlights. The students are placed in one perilous situation after another and as usual Ayanokouji pulls strings behind the scenes to get the result he wants. But sadly, as a massive fan of YZ, I just can’t believe how awful a season this was. There were massive cuts to key story moments, emotional climaxes that didn’t hit because they weren’t properly built up to, exams being basically power point slides, rushing through entire volumes in an episode.. it was bad. And it’s hard to separate the anime only experience from the source reader/viewer experience because of how invested I am into this story. I really do love the characters and the exams and all the behind the scenes tactics Kiyo pulls, but the anime just doesn’t capture that. It makes Ayanokouji out to be so one dimensional and edgy. It makes the exams look like side points when they are the whole focus of entire volumes. There’s so much planning the students put into these to succeed and it just gets cut out. I do fully understand that in a dialogue heavy story you’re going to have omissions, but there’s still series like Oregairu(even though I hate it for other reasons) that do this very well. This just feels like a soulless cash grab that’s only YZ in name, but retains none of the heart and spirit that’s in the source material. And we haven’t even touched on the production values. I think the only thing Lerche care about in this show is making sure the thighs look good, which is a plus, and making sure Suzune shots look beautiful. Other than that, the animation is pretty bad, character models can be quite off and the production in general is decent to subpar. One thing I will definitely compliment them on is the use of shadows and lighting in certain scenes. For some reason, Lerche like to change the background of certain LN scenes, maybe because it’s easier to animate, or less stress on the staff, but some of them are nice. Others not so much. The OST they use during hype moments is as usual on point. I will definitely compliment Lerche on their use of music throughout the YZ adaptation. So, what’s the verdict on YZ season 3? Is it worth watching? Well, simple. If you’ve liked it up until this point you’ll love this. It’s the best arc so far, biggest stakes and the most interesting exams, not to mention the world opening up and exterior forces coming to challenge Ayanokouji. Up until now, he hasn’t had much competition, but that looks like it’s about to change. If you’re a LN reader, it’s probably worth just watching in the background while doing something else to just to laugh at how some of our favourite moments have been butchered. It’s definitely not going to make any new fans of the series. I’d encourage anyone at least remotely interested in this franchise to get the books. YZ season 3, gets 6 out of 10

Classroom of the Elite, Round 3 - We have now arrived at the end point of this excruciatingly fascinating psychological battle. But this is only just a year in relation to 2 more years in school, and the battle of the greatest minds...has only just begun. An arduous 6.5 years and 38 heavily compressed episodes later, the adaptation of novelist Shougo Kinugasa's Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e a.k.a Classroom of the Elite, has finally reached its ending consensus. Not gonna lie, it's sad to see a high-profile and prized series like this come to an end, but Year 2 of the LN has alreadybegun even before the much-anticipated Seasons 2 and 3 came out to complete the entire 1st Year arc. And even then, while this journey has been met with many setbacks and criticism over the years, the reality is this: people are mortal to rush for the good and work for the bad, causing the adaptation to go on a speedrun from resources run dry, and its titular MC Kiyotaka Ayanokouji, is still one of the GOATs of all of AniManga characters to ever exist. With Season 3 finishing the remainder of the 1st Year arc from Volumes 8 to 11.75 of the LN, I would say that apart from the closeness in terms of tension, Season 3 is not just the final season, but the pinnacle of peak intellectual psychology thrillers in all of anime that I've ever experienced since unironically starting Season 1 all the way back in Summer 2017. The premiere season still remains as one of the best shows that I've watched thus far, with its adaptation's reputation in tatters from that point onward. Since then, the AniManga community has warmed to the idea of the LN being adapted in a lightning blitz as quick as possible, and yet, still can deliver some of the best scenes of the LN as a whole, which IS still the most important thing when it comes to the anime, also as a whole. Let's deal with the issues methodically: The Mixed Training Camp where the entire school is targeted from its mix-up from all 1st to 3rd Year students, and this throws Suzune Horikita's older brother, Manabu, into the spotlight as the reigning Student Council President against the one who will succeed him: Class A's Miyabi Nagumo. Clearly, both Manabu and Miyabi lead by different mindsets and ideals, and non-mistakably, Ayanokouji has to be thrown in the wrench to help Manabu through his usual psychological games and come out surviving against a madman who wants to topple the entire school upside down. Of course, this puts one of the students at a very high risk: Class B's Honami Ichinose, the kind, helpful and selfless class rep who does not want to put her class at risk of the dangers from the school's unforgiving test requirements. Her status as one of the top students of her class, alongside her benevolent nature, makes her very much admired and respected. Her involvement with Ayanokouji comes not just at a much-needed time of between the Mixed Training Camp and the one forced event that is the ultimate plan to scout said intelligent boy out of the school by nefarious means. Throughout the venture, where her being part of the Student Council allows her to interrogate Ayanokouji a lot more, as well as trying to get to know his philosophy when it comes to the never-ending psychological battles between fellow classes and frenemies alike in between the school's notorious exams, and along the way, develops a liking for him since they get along and work so well together. But in the chad Ayanokouji's mind, he already has his perfect tool for the perfect job (you know who), and this infuriates none other than one of the most prominent characters of Class D: Yousuke Hirata. Being known as the top student of Ayanokouji's class, things take a downturn for him in Season 2 when it was found that his "relationship" with Kei Karuizawa was nothing more than just brute protection for being her shield so that she does not get bullied in school. If that wasn't enough, the In-Class Voting forced exam is the one that puts all of his skills to the test, to which he was blindsided time and time again, not just from said manipulator himself, but also the 3 Idiots "Stooges" of the class: Ken Sudo, Kanji Ike, and Haruki Yamauchi (which LN readers will inevitably know the term "Yamagod", not gonna say much), one which broke his sanity and afterthought about his own class in general. But none of the above compares to the very enemy of whom Ayanokouji feels that this person's his biggest target yet: Class A's Arisu Sakayanagi. The clear runaway leader of Class A, who appears to be disabled and walking with a cane, she's the progenitor of the rivalry that Ayanokouji has been dutifully waiting for to duke their intelligence at each other, given the backstory that both her and Ayanokouji were in fact from the same White Room in the unknown facility that forces children to participate in an immense battery of tests designed to raise and train them into teens with almost superhuman-like capabilities. The only two people who share a bond for the extremists of human intelligence, their final battle of the alternate inter-class tests proves critical and shows the very reason of their fierce rivalry to begin with within the midst of the entire Season 3, even if they end on an amicable note of each other acknowledging their prowesses. Even after all this time, I don't really need to re-emphasize the production of the series as a whole. Under the directorial leadership of duo chief directors Seiji Kishi and Horiyuki Hashimoto, with Yoshihito Nishouji coming onboard for the rushed Season 2 and 3, it's safe to say that there's a clear disparity of the sheer downward force when it comes to the animation department, because studio Lerche clearly doesn't care anymore, opting to just adapt the scenarios that truly matter and give the peak moments more grace and finesse to show that their "dedication" still sticks around after the long-run. Be it with the many changes in staff when it comes to producing and scriptwriting the anime, it's a terrible nightmare just to see a different team of staff coming back to helm the series throughout its entire run, which definitely affected both the later Seasons 2 and 3 to a degree where a complete adaptation is the only onset goal/objective of mind. And let's face it, getting a good (or even BETTER) adaptation is rare in this day and age. The music too, also suffers from much ambience this time, though I do have to set the precedence that Season 2 suffered the same fate as well, with a rather pressing deadline to be completed in 2 years. And within those same 2 years, we've got theme songs, which by your own definition, can be great or bad. At least for ZAQ, she maintained her stance as the series' defining OP artist, with Season 3's "Minor Piece" still being a banger of a song, but not as good as Season 2's "Dance in the Game" nor greater than my absolute favourite OP song of the series, which was Season 1's "Caste Room". The ED songs however were a rather mixed bag, with Yui Ninomiya vouching in for Season 3's ED, which felt like a trippy song at best, though much better than Mai Fuchigami's Season 2 ED song, but none as great and mesmerizing as Minami Kuribayashi's Season 1 ED song "Beautiful Soldier", which is still the melancholic song I still love to this day. Still though, for a series like Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e a.k.a Classroom of the Elite to finally meet its end on not just the LN back in Septmber 2019, but also now close the chapter on the anime as well, we've come a long way to appreciate the return of one of the most anticipated AniManga series, even if that return necessitated many sacrifices along the way. I have deep respect for novelist Shougo Kinugasa for his commitment of 4 years and 4 months from May 2015 to September 2019 concocting one of the most thought-provoking works in all of AniManga, which even if the anime was explicity bad, it would still be regarded as one of the best series of all time. So, studio Lerche and directors Seiji Kishi and Horiyuki Hashimoto, better buck up if you're ready to adapt Year 2 of Classroom of the Elite, because the psychological battle will be EVEN more intense, for Kiyotaka Ayanokouji to flex his one-of-a-kind intellect onto more people, from the Board of Chairmans down to both new Year 1 Kouhais and Year 3 Senpais. That said, please continue the adaptation into Year 2, anime-onlies have only seen the surface of the iceberg yet deep into the lore that is the Classroom of the Elite.

I'll keep this review short. There were many things that I would like to address, but I figured it would be best to keep it simple. At first glance, I disliked how CoTE put up a facade that wanted to appear smart with the promises of psychological warfare and used dirty tactics just to get more merit over the other. Until then, I have reached the point where I enjoyed the journey of what the 1st year saga has to encapsulate. The anime's story, in its own right, is not bad. Of course, there is some downtime that could have been removed for more quality charactermoments and there's not much to talk about the cast, but it's still not messy junk where the plot happens for no reason, it still remembers to set some things up and make it pay off later as the story progresses. The issue that continues to this day is how there's a severe lack of context or buildup to any conflict that you're unable to fully grasp what is happening without relying on LN spoilers. In this season, they somewhat can provide enough context, but rarely does it feel sufficient when it reaches its climax. I'd say for a plus, the animation looked better than what we've gotten in the previous season (S2 EP2 was laughably terrible) and it was, to a certain degree, enjoyable to watch while it lasted. Usually, anime like this can fail miserably when dialogues, script, or pacing is not kept in check, but here the staff has done a good job and you won't have to suffer from unnecessary quips or shenanigans. It's tolerable and decent, to say the least. Thank you for reading.
