Synopsis
Kazuma Satou, former NEET and current reincarnated adventurer, finally returns home after the incident at the Crimson Demon village. He is joined by his ever-reliable companions: self-absorbed goddess Aqua, one-trick pony arch-wizard Megumin, and masochistic crusader Lalatina Ford "Darkness" Dustiness. Following their recent exploits, the party is one step closer to vanquishing the Demon King and his armies—a terrifying task that Kazuma is eager to ignore for as long as possible. Things, however, are not going as smoothly as the group would like; they are constantly racking up debt, getting sidetracked during missions, and falling into traps due to their recklessness and eccentricities. As the party struggles with their perennial issues, they receive an invitation from a princess interested in hearing tales of the group's "heroic" deeds. Darkness' pleas to refuse the invitation only fire the others up to accept it, marking the start of yet another uncanny adventure with unforeseen consequences. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

Spoiler-less, TL;DR, fast, simple, and easy-to-digest review: Hijinx, Shenanigans, EXPLOSION 9/10 Animation and Artstyle ++ Motion (Good): Mixed; Not on par with some greatest action scenes; As good as previous seasons. +++ Environment (Excellent): Maintained on what is established before but with new setting. +++ Style (Excellent): The art and the animation style are well suited together; Funni; As good as previous.Characters +++ Design (Excellent): You know them, you love them; New characters really stood out like sore thumbs, and I like it. + Characteristic (Ok): A bit low score on this because Wiz received significantly low screen time compared to previous seasons; New characters are okay at best. Princess Iris is your token brocon character yet better than most siscons. +++ Voice Acting (Excellent): "Freeeeeze" - Kazuma. This alone is enough to warrant high voice acting score. +++ Memorability (Excellent): You wouldn't forget them. Like seriously, you wouldn't. Well you'll forget some minor characters, but most of them are memorable... they all stand out across three seasons. Story +++ Premise (Excellent): Consistent yet kept evolving; Cannot and will not understand this anime without watching the previous 2 seasons. + Plot (Ok): Season 2's plot was way better and way more high stakes; Not the best but funni anyway. ++ Pacing (Good): Fast - like CoD-style breakneck speed omni-movement fast; There are some slow moments but fast anyway. ++ Theme (Good): Well established and maintained; You don't even know that this is an isekai anymore; Kazuma is fully integrated in the world now. OST + OP (Ok): First season OP was way better. This feels like the song is too bright and colorful and no hint of funnyness. Almost as if I assumed this is performed by Poppin'Party from BanG Dream. ++ In-Anime (Good): Used same OST as previous seasons. They are all placed perfectly in moment-to-moment scenes. ++ ED (Good): Ah yes the country/farmer-themed ED. Consisted as always. Feels like you gone home and rested well from shenanigans you experienced from that day. Quality of Life +++ Enjoyability (Excellent): Funni and fun! ++ Replayability (Good): Ep 7 Wiz moment and her Ep 10 cutesy vibe >_< pls more Wiz screentime next season.

Konosuba is an anime about culture, they can't analyze something that is a parody of the average isekais hahahahahaha Konosuba is a parody, that's why for me it's the best without a doubt. Also, the story and the characters they have are so good that they could easily have 4 seasons or more each character. And remember before throwing hate at Konosuba remember that it's a parody so you are indirectly throwing hate at your favorite isekai. And many hate Kazuma but he's one of the few characters that really has no filter, he's absolutely anti-prince, something that almost doesn't exist today, except for Rimuruand a few others, almost all of them are Disney princesses.

To sum it up, this season is balanced in terms of everything (except the graphics *idk but in some conditions it's perfect by itself by minimizing the detail of the graphics to get the punchline of the comedy so it's 50/50). The principle of the MC is clearly visible not naively and annoyingly but in a funny way that mostly I hated in some MCs that makes me wanna punch him in the face*sorry OOT. It's not a very complicated story but u could still have its way of deepening. Well, there's some fanservice so u can't watch in public, but not too overly longthat makes us uncomfortable so u can skip it without sacrificing the story. The last something that really stands out is the VO when there's a drama/conflict that make it brings the story very high sadness; comedy; and conflict of interest between the characters. That makes this season of Anime (A Weak 9/10) not in a masterpiece way but in the u could watch it over and over without getting bored.*I would rather give 8.5 but I can't, an 8 is so little for this kind of anime, so 9 but a weak 9.

KONOSUBA Hilariouss Comedy Konosuba excels in its comedic elements. The series is a parody of the isekai genre, and it skillfully mocks many of the commonn tropes found in such stories. The humor is often slapstick, random and situational, and the interactionz between the main characters are a constant source of laughter. The best part of the series imo. 2. Unique and Lovable Characters The main cast of Konosuba is unforgettabl. Each character has distinctive traits and flaws that make them stand out: Kazuma Satou: The protagonist, who is far from the typical heroic figure. He is pragmatic, often lasy, and has a somewhat cynical outlook, which makes him relatableand entertaing. Aqua: The goddess of water who is incredibly powerful yet hilariously incompetent and vain. Her frequent blunders and selfish nature are pretty fun. Megumin: A young mage obsessed with explosion magic. Her single-minded dedication to casting only one spell—Explosion—leads to both awe-inspiring and ridiculous situations. EXAPLOZZIANNNN Darkness: A masochistic crusader with a noble heart but an odd fetish for pain. Her over-the-top speeches and self-sacrificial tendencies are very interesting… to watch 3. Engaging World-Building While primarily a comedy, Konosuba does not neglect its world-building. With its many different villages etc. however it’s very mediocre work building 4. Subversion of Tropes Konosuba stands out by subverting many of the typical isekai tropes. Instead of an overpowered hero, Kazuma is an everyman with limited skills. The series often plays with the expectations of the genre, creating fresh and unexpected scenarios. Imagine a modern human in a isekai. that’s who kazuma is 5. Great Animation and Art Style The animation quality, especially in the comedic and action scenes, is impressive. Studio Deen did a ok job in bringing the vibrant and whimsical world of Konosuba to life. The character designs are memorable and expressive, which adds to the humor and charm. 6. Catchy Music The opening and ending themes of Konosuba are catchy and well-loved by fans. The soundtrack complements the series' light-hearted and adventurous tone. 7. Heartwarming Moments Despite its focus on comedy, Konosuba occasionally delves into more serious and heartfelt moments. These scenes add depth to the characters and their relationships, making the audience care more about their journey. 8. Cultural Impact Konosuba has left a significant impact on the anime community. Its characters and quotes are widely recognized, and it has inspired numerous memes and fan creations. It even was part of isekai quartet which was a mcriss over of 4 isekai including konosuba rezero, overlord and the BEING X series (the devil girl). In summary, Konosuba is amazing because it masterfully combines humor, unique characters, engaging storytelling, and quality animation to create an experience that is both entertaining and memorable. It stands out in the crowded isekai genre by offering a refreshing and hilarious take on the typical fantasy adventure.

+ Like previous seasons of Konosuba, it's a strong dose of comedy with a hint of heart! + Compared to last year's Megumin spin-off, the mainline Konosuba series is much stronger by comparison. The balance of the main cast better accentuates the comedy, where competing interests (often selfish and perverse in nature) lead to hilarious hijinks. Even when some jokes don't land, the chemistry of the main charaacters is able to carry the energy throughout the show. + It's nice that Konosuba remains earnest in its thematic goals: yes, it's a parody of Isekai and harem anime, but it also has a few sincere, emotional moments. +Lalatina fans rejoice, we're getting a Darkness-centric main story arc! It's refreshing to get more backstory and character development from our resident masochist crusader, especially after an entire spin-off and movie focusing exclusively on Megumin (granted, Megumin is a really fun character and I have nothing against her, but I enjoy seeing what else Konosuba has to offer as well). = Konosuba's 3rd season could stand to be a bit more profound and cathartic. But calling out Konosuba for not being more emotionally enriching is like complaining about the lack of nutrition in an ice cream sundae. It's a show that expands on the story from previous seasons, while retaining its easygoing structure and playful spirit; it's hard to imagine anyone who wouldn't enjoy Konosuba at least a little.

Discovering KonoSuba introduced me to the wonderful world of Isekai anime, and I'm forever grateful. Who would've thought those Facebook memes would lead me to my favorite series? This season, Megumin and Kazuma's relationship blossomed, and their awkward moments had me squealing with delight. Indirect confessions, blushing, and heartwarming interactions - it's like the anime knew exactly how to tug at my heartstrings. Vanir, the lovable demon, added comedic gold alongside Wiz, while Darkness's backstory revealed a deeper side to her character. And Aqua? She's still the queen of silliness, mischief, and adorable baby faces. What I love most about KonoSuba is its ability to balance humor andheart. The gang's antics, from racking up debt to getting sidetracked, had me laughing out loud. Yet, the series tackles meaningful themes like friendship, growth, and vulnerability. With only 11 episodes, I was worried they'd rush the story, but Studio Drive nailed it. The pacing is impeccable, and every moment counts. Now, I'm eagerly awaiting Season 4 or a movie to cover the remaining manga content. A Kazuma-Megumin wedding would be the perfect conclusion! Highlights: - Megumin x Kazuma development - Vanir's hilarious antics - Darkness's backstory - Aqua's endless silliness - Perfect pacing Lowlights: - Only 11 episodes (left me craving more) Rating Breakdown: - Story: 9.5/10 - Characters: 10/10 - Animation: 10/10 - Soundtrack: 9/10 - Overall: 10/10

This is an overall review of the show. I don't like this genre at all. Shows with an ecchi/harem setting that focuses around rom-com in an isekai world is about the most generic thing you get with Japanese shows. Yet, I bow my head down to this show anyways. It's the best of it's kind. Why is it so hard to get this type of show done right? Well, most of the time, the girls are just lovestruck idiots that get themselves in embarrassing situations with the MC and they're so infatuated with the seemingly generic/boring protagonist that it brings a lot of wish-fulfillment vibes. Examplescould be Tate no Yuusha or Mushoko Tensei. I mean, if the main character's supposed to be some loser that got reincarnated, then why the hell is there so much wish-fulfillment going on? At least make him like, extremely handsome, charismatic, likeable or something. It's...as if the show's selling point is you projecting yourself onto the main character whose extremely successful with little to no effort and as a result, you feel fulfilled. So, Konosuba dodges this. After all, Kazuma is a loser virgin who also is obsessed with women. Despite being surrounded by beautiful woman, there's this vague veil surrounding the relationships between the other characters in his party. After all, it's a rom-com. Let's be real, if there was any actual coupling go on, the comedy and story would fall apart. Of course, the women in his party play into the comedy as well. None of them are proper ladies who act cutesy and feel embarrassed when holding hands. Well, maybe a little, but in this show, they're more known for their other attributes. An archmage that can only cast a single spell, a crusader that can't land a hit, and a useless Goddess. If I had to go into each character in-depth, this review would go on for ages. The manzai is impeccable. It uses the settings and character to their full extent. There's some teasing and ecchi scenes that pair nicely into the tsukommi that Kazuma frequently delivers. Sometimes the party will argue with each other over simple things, laze around, or they'll actually be doing questing. The natural flow of dialogue just is so fun to watch sometimes. And the animation studio knows it well enough too. The comedic timing, the facial expressions that are blown out of proportion, and the voice acting match the tempo of the manzai. I actually read the first volume of the light novel series, and it's rare I say this, but the novel's just really unfunny. There's no extra detail that the anime misses, and in fact, due to the voice acting, animation, and attention to detail, the fairly average/cringe scenes in the novel comes to life. It's not like the anime is super high budget, but the way the storyboarding is done fits the dialogue and scenes. Finally, the actual story. And when I mean story, I just mean the quests that Kazuma and his party take on, or the people that they end up helping out are actually fun scenarios. It's not something boring like "killing a dragon." The encounters that Kazuma has and the way he deals with situations keeps the anime fresh. Sometimes he'll actually be trying to kill demon kings, and sometimes he's helping them cover their track so they escape detection. The show is at it's best with its mix of character development, comedic scenes. and a bit of a vague overarching plot of the party trying to do something. I used to vehemently deny that shows like this could be fun to watch. After all, it's kind of cringe. However, I evolved past that. What's fun is fun. Even this genre can produce some miracles. I won't lie that it's cringe as hell to watch this, but it's quite enjoyable nonetheless.

One of the best isekai series with, great humour, well-used Cliché's and Good parody world building. After a long time later, Konosuba is back with it' s greatest form. Not a masterpiece, but i'm sure you can die from laughter and way too much emotions you can't explain. If anyone was searching for one of the best iseaki, Although it is a parody, it counts as isekai, they are missed this gem or they don' t give a chance because of the ecchi content. There is no disturbing ecchi content like fan service, everything is just for humour. From the music to the plot. Thereare not the best plot-twists, Neither the best animation or other things. But there is one of the best parody anime.

Pros : Characters are still lovable, funny, and remained the same throughout the years. Cons : This season felt boring to watch , in comparison to the other seasons. Much slower pacing, scenes weren't as exciting mainly. Lot more dialogue. The jokes / screaming got stale and lost its impact the more it happened. The animation was quite worse compared to the other seasons. Music / Comedy also significantly fell off. There were a couple funny scenes but it was not consistent. I would have dropped this show easily if it was not Konosuba. Really enjoyed the first seasons due to the characters but thisseason was not it.

What’s a comedy show without comedy? The characters on screen seem familiar and comforting, but they behave lifelessly, as if they’re just there to grab my attention—attention worth its metaphorical weight in gold according to ad companies. This season of Konosuba feels like a low-budget, cash-grab attempt. The animation studio for this season changed from the reputable Studio Deen, which did the first two seasons, to the new Studio Drive. I thought Studio Drive was only going to handle the Megumin spin-off, not take over the entire IP. Studio Deen essentially pulled a Madhouse on us, making two great seasons and then handing it off to asmaller studio to milk it dry. They did the same thing to Promised Neverland S2, Seven Deadly Sins S3, and many more, where they hooked an audience with an IP, then fed them subpar content and robbed them blind. I can’t believe they’ve done this! My concerns started with episode 2 when I watched the entire episode without laughing once and wondered if I’d suddenly lost my sense of humor. Watching Kaiju alongside this season of Konosuba added to my worries. But then I watched an episode of Dungeon Meshi, laughed my ass off, and realized, “it’s not me, it’s you.” The show was the problem. There are entire stretches of 20-30 seconds of just PowerPoint-like slideshows disguised as animation, switching between two sets of pictures like a beginner animator on YouTube. Compared to the vibrant animation budget and love given to the previous two seasons, it feels like a different show. Yes, animation matters. In a comedy show, animation is crucial. Even a soundless comedy can be funny if it’s animated well enough. I feel bad for the supremely talented voice actors who participated in this debauchery. I can hear them trying to convey a certain scene with their voices, but what’s on my screen doesn’t match their passion and direction. Maybe I’m deaf, but it feels like the OST is missing in half the anime. I like the ending theme, but the opening is generic. The story stands out a lot more in this season due to the lack of comedy, and not in a good way. The generic background story that’s supposed to stay in the back of everyone’s mind is now pushed to the forefront, making the show look like a bad theatrical drama. WHOEVER DID THE SOUNDTRACK FOR THIS SEASON WAS TRASH!!!!! They ruined Kazuma’s big moment that I didn’t even know about, but it makes so much more sense once you have the context. This really was a slimmed down, bare-bones satirization of the previous seasons. If you’ve seen the first two seasons of Konosuba and liked them, I suggest you just watch episodes 5, 8, 9, and 12, which were the peak of this season. Episode 10 was especially bad. There was nothing but panning shots, mouth movements, dismally empty soundtrack, and a complete lack of comedy replaced with the cheapest melodrama you’ll ever see. The biggest disappointment of Spring 2024 Anime for me. Ratings: Art: 6/10 Not as good as it should be Animation: 5/10 Bare minimum for a show airing on TV Sound: 3/10 Whoever did the sound design for this season needs to be fired asap Story: 3/10 This isn’t supposed to matter since this is a comedy Characters: 5/10Caricatures Enjoyment: 6/10Wouldn’t watch this if it wasn’t Konosuba. I’ll never forgive Drive! Overall: 6/10 I know the math doesn’t math but I love this series. “I’LL NEVER FORGIVE THE JAPANESE!!!”

Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! 3 was honestly surreal to watch considering the length of time since the previous season but man did it not disappoint. A season full of all the same hilarity the previous ones delivered, with the same lovable cast although with a bit more focus on emotional moments which I believe they handled really really well! It's so wonderful to see the quality maintained with this season because at first I was really worried they wouldn't be able to, but nope I'm still laughing out loud every episode and falling in love even more with these characters. This was definitely Darkness'season, and with her being my favourite character I was overjoyed at how much development and attention she got. I really do think they nailed the emotional moments this season, obviously Konosuba isn't exactly renowned as the most serious show but man did they get me welling up with a few of these scenes. There were so many standout moments this season, the stuff with the princess was absolute gold and god I loved everything Kazuma did this season he was even funnier than ever I think I actually squealed when he did the "𝒽𝒶𝒾, 𝒦𝒶𝓏𝓊𝓂𝒶 𝒹𝑒𝓈𝓊" bit I was like NO WAY IT'S BEEN SO LONG YEAHH!!! The animation was great this season, I loved the stupid faces everyone was pulling and man they went off in the big moments which both added to the hype and humour they really just nailed it all this season. Soundtrack was great too, I always love those character EDs. Overall a wonderful continuation to a wonderful series, you won't be disappointed!

Pretty good season overall. If you're watching this season, I can already guess you're a fan of Konosuba. While this season isn't as funny as the previous ones, it still has plenty of funny and interesting moments. One of the most interesting additions is the introduction of the divine treasures. As someone who only watches the anime, I found that these items added a lot of depth to the story and provides opportunities for hilarious moments. For example, one of the divine treasures can switch bodies, which actually comes into play this season. You can only imagine how Kazuma might get involved with this, but I'llkeep quiet and let you experience it for yourself. The most memorable moment, though, involves Dust, the blonde-haired guy—if you know, you know. Additionally, the setting expands to the royal castle, introducing new characters and relationships that bring interesting developments within the gang. Music: The ending theme is as chill as always, while the opening remains its usual chaotic fun. They maintain the same tone as in previous seasons. Overall: 8.5/10 While the comedy alone makes this anime worth watching, the introduction of new plot points has piqued my interest, and I'm excited to see where they go with it.

Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! 3 (2024) As usual, the show is ruined by reviews of people who haven't watched the whole season but decided they were bored. This is the normal plague that hits anime. The show is fun, but it is not a super serious show, so stop expecting epic things to happen all the time. It is made up of jokes and shenanigans. This is a marriage arc that is foiled, as you would expect, not a spoiler because why would this ever be a serious show based on everything that has happened? The art looks fantastic! better and better. The soundis awesome, another great set of explosions. The characters are all the same and lovable. Some are more honest than they have ever been before but still silly and goofy. The show has two parts, and both parts lead into each other. The princess arc leading into the marriage arc is not related as directly as it sounds. I want this show to continue, 9/10 for me.

LALATINA STEAL THIS SEASON! Overall, this season is growing better, i mean, not saying that previous season is bad, but, i feel that every season of Konosuba is growing better and better. Comedy: 10 The comedy between crazy party Kazuma, Aqua, Megumin and Darkness is still great. They are like a comedian group which can't replaced by other characters Story: 9 The story is also good, i'm enjoying this season but sadly there was only 11 episode. The last episode of this season is something like a "key" for the next whole story of Konosuba universe.Music: 9 Yeah, Machico on the opening, and Aqua, Megumin, and Darkness VA on the ending, is that a great formula for Konosuba. But the variation of BGM a litlle bit missing on this season, i miss the jazzy BGM when Darkness Masochist's side appears. Overall, this season is very recommended and ABSOLUTE CINEMA!

Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! 3 maintains the strengths seen in its predecessors. The character interactions continue to be a highlight, brimming with humorous moments that enhance the viewing experience. However, there is a noticeable decline in animation quality and slight alterations in character designs, though these do not significantly detract from the series' appeal. The primary concern lies in its adherence to the established formula of previous seasons: characters show minimal growth, the overarching narrative remains static, and their ultimate objective seems no closer. The initial episodes attempt to shake things up by introducing new characters and a fresh plot device meant to drive progression.Unfortunately, these efforts are undermined in the latter part of the season, which revisits resolved storylines and recycles many previous jokes and comedic scenarios. Fans of Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! will likely find comfort in the third season's familiar charm. However, those anticipating narrative progression may find it disappointing, and some viewers may perceive its humor as repetitive and lacking inspiration.

Summary: This season of the anime is simply outstanding. From start to finish, the series manages to captivate and entertain without any noticeable shortcomings. The balance of storyline, comedy, and the essence of the plot is perfectly maintained, making it a must-watch for anime lovers. Detailed Review: Story Uniqueness: The story is unique in its blend of humor and seriousness. While it maintains a more serious tone compared to previous seasons, this shift is well-executed and adds depth to the narrative. Despite being somewhat predictable at times, the journey is enjoyable because it aligns well with the genre and keeps the viewers engaged. Art Style: The art style is fitting forthe story, enhancing the overall viewing experience. The vibrant and dynamic animation captures the essence of each scene, whether it's a light-hearted comedic moment or a more intense, dramatic sequence. The visual presentation complements the storytelling, making it a feast for the eyes. Characters: The characters are well-rounded and exhibit a range of strengths and flaws. They are not overly perfect or exaggerated, which makes them relatable. Each character's growth and development throughout the season are portrayed realistically. Their reactions to various situations and events are believable, adding to the immersive quality of the series. Realistic Reactions: The characters' responses to events and challenges are natural and convincing. They face dilemmas, make mistakes, and learn from them, which contributes to a more grounded and relatable storyline. This realism in character behavior helps in creating a deeper connection with the audience. Audience Enjoyment: I believe that many viewers, regardless of their initial expectations, will find this series enjoyable. The blend of humor and seriousness, coupled with strong character development and beautiful animation, makes it appealing to a wide audience. Even if someone is new to the series, starting from the beginning will enhance their appreciation and understanding of the story's progression. Recommendation: I highly recommend this anime to both new viewers and long-time fans. Watching the series from the beginning will enrich the experience and provide a deeper emotional connection to the story and characters. This season stands out as a remarkable achievement and is a testament to the creators' skill and dedication. Don't miss out on this incredible journey! my actually review: Bravoooooo Very amazing for this season. In my opinion, there are no shortcomings in the whole episode. Even though this part of the season seems more serious (a little), everything is perfect. The storyline, comedy, and essence of the story are in my BOOOOSSS. I highly recommend anime viewers/lovers to watch the continuation of this series. and it is also recommended to watch again from the beginning, so that you can feel the feeling you get while watching.

Soo Glad I didn't have to wait long for this! Art - 9/10 The studio change didn't screw over the art direction and it looks Just about as Konosuba as Konosuba ever has and that is a great thing, the explosions are larger and the ecchi moments have settled down a bit!. Characters - 10/10 Holy shit every character is soo good, they can all make you laugh and feel something in the span of like 5 minutes, perfect character writing for a show that isn't too serious. Story - 9/10 Kind of a trapped story in 1 Spot for this season, but it does well remaining inthe few locations that it is given and the story proceeds smoothly. OST/Sound Design - 10/10 Voice actors sound like they are having soo much fun and the OST's always put you in a good mood. Enjoyment - 9/10 Probably the best Konosuba season yet, and from the light novel possibly only going to get better!. Overall 9/10 Great third season, wasn't let down and enjoyed it every thursday.

After 5 years, Konosuba is back and better than ever. While the comedy we know and love is present in S3, the biggest improvement is the story. Darkness is the focal point of the season and goes from being a purely comic relief masochist to a genuinely interesting and developed character. The story arc this season covers is in my opinion, the best yet and genuinely emotionally investing. While it’s a series known for its comedy and jokes, Konosuba can tell a good story too and this season proved it. After the long gap between seasons and the studio shift, a lot of people myself includedwere skeptical about the job Drive would do with Konosuba. Last year’s Megumin spin-off showed they were capable of taking the reins of the franchise and they followed up with a great season 3 of the mainline series. The charm of the series is still very much apparent. Aqua, Kazuma, Megumin and Darkness’ dynamic is as fun as ever. The biggest selling point this season was the story surrounding Darkness. As everyone knows, in previous seasons Darkness is kind of this dumb comic relief masochist who has the occasional cool moment, but for the most part is kinda just a meme since she lacks actual combat abilities. Don’t get me wrong, I loved that Darkness and she and Aqua went back and forth as my fave characters. But this season, I got to see a totally different side of her that I never knew existed. Despite her actions, Darkness is actually really considerate, thoughtful and an amazing friend willing to sacrifice her own happiness for others. Seeing all the things she suffers with this season in silence and how far ahead she’s been planning ever since last season just gave me such a newfound appreciation for her character and put her definitively as my best girl. The other girls definitely take a backseat in this season for Lalatina’s development and you’ll hear no complaints from me on it. Megumin recently had a spin-off and Aqua is too damn drunk to get a development, but the cast as usual bounces off each other really well. The banter, the silly moments, the over the top explosions and steal spells, they’re all there and well if you loved em before, you’ll love em now. You kinda know what you’re going to get from Konosuba at this point and it’s definitely not something for everyone, but I do whole heartedly think it’s one of the funniest shows the medium has to offer. Further on the comedy point, I will say though that this season has a little more screaming than I remember in konosuba. The gag is not really funny, but not the end of the world for me, but I’ve seen some people bothered by it and even writing think pieces on it, so just be aware that is a thing. Production wise Drive haven’t missed a beat. Feels like a perfect continuation of Studio DEEN and honestly an upgrade in many respects. Biggest praise I can give is that you can’t even tell a new studio is doing the show. By now you know what you’re getting with Konosuba comedy wise and it’s very much confident in its humour. But story wise this is the best it’s ever been. If you’ve ever watched the show and wanted a little more out of it narratively, I think you’ll be quite satisfied here. I’m just happy to have this show back. konosuba season 3 gets a very easy 10 out of 10

KonoSuba! - Let's all hail the OG Isekai fantasy masterpiece King of Comedy for its long-awaited comeback! Let's not fake ourselves any further: the return of acclaimed novelist Natsume Akatsuki's mainstay series of Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! a.k.a KonoSuba: God's Blessing on This Wonderful World!, after 2 spectacular seasons in Winter 2016 and Winter 2017, plus the 2019 movie Kurenai Densetsu a.k.a Legend of Crimson (which you SHOULD definitely watch as its canon to the main series) and last Spring's Megumin spin-off (which is actually very good), the hype for more KonoSuba content for 8 years running in the anime adaptation space has neverdied down. As fellow KonoSuba fans, you already know the drill when Season 3 was announced alongside the Megumin spin-off back in 2021: more KonoSuba is great Isekai comedy to ever meet the face of the small screen, and Season 3 coming back 7 years later, still pars, and even exceeds all expectations to absolutely no doubt. With Season 3 continuing the epilogue from the Legend of Crimson movie of Volume 5 onwards to Volume 7 of the LN, our ragtag comedy gang is back from Megumin's home place of the Crimson Magic Village, for the gender-neutral MC to almost have his time with said Crimson Demon to earn himself a close-than-thou romantic relationship in the process, to then thwart all of that as they head back to Axel and be worshipped as the gang who defeated a demon king. And then there's that "Hello, I'm Kazuma," and life returns to normal. Most notably, Kazuma's journeys are now with the aforementioned Princess of the Six Flowers: Iris Stylish-Sword Belzerg (or just referred to as Iris), the first princess of Belzerg, and coincidentally, one of his most cherished partners of the party: Darkness herself, through which she undergoes a transformation for the worse that could potentially end the eccentric gang in turmoil. Needless to say, we should all expect how perfectly trashy a character Kazuma is with all of his gender-neutral personality, and he NEVER fails to warrant his needs and wants in the most absurd of comedic ways. Same goes with Aqua, Megumin, and Darkness, whatever Kazuma exacts on them is their folly, and they must make sure to control him more than ever, especially for this season where circumstances have gone even more awry to the point of make-and-break situations that could change the fate of the long-standing outcast of a lunatic party that has slowly grown to be respected heroes in the long run. You truly cannot say that the hate for Kazuma and his party is warranted, and although they've become better beings through progression, it's that same nonchalant personality that really brings out the best of what Natsume Akatsuki has to offer for his mainstay series (which has finished since May 2020). What's different this time is the studio change from Studio Deen to Drive, having taken the reigns after J.C.Staff with the Legend of Crimson movie (whose art style is good, but rather iffy to look at and doesn't quite fit the series). Even with an extensive production staff team overhaul bringing in new people, as well as director Yujiro Abe (while keeping veteran director Takaomi Kanasaki as chief supervisor of the franchise), the former has proven that he has done a very good job with the unproven studio for Megumin's Bakuen! spin-off, and Season 3 is that refinement of continuing what Studio Deen has done all those years back, and bringing in modern improvements to make the series feel right at home regardless of how long time has passed. You could say that KonoSuba practically hasn't changed much, and you'd be right. The spectacular and classic OST is there, but I'd feel that Machico isn't stepping up to the calibre of her past songs in the franchise. Don't get me wrong, "Growing Up" is an intentional OP song to show how much the cast has grown, but as a song alone, it's easily the weakest of the franchise to date, and I really feel nothing for it. However, I really quite liked the ED song by Aqua, Megumin, and Darkness's VAs for its usual out-of-pocket comedy, with the tadpole and its transformation into the gross frogs that never fail to consume them each and every time. It's a franchise icon, and you'd be hard-pressed not to love the ED. Overall, what can I really say about KonoSuba, being the best of the best when it comes to pure, undulated Isekai fantasy comedy that still reigns king above all? It should be a no-brainer at this point, and it comes highly recommended, especially if you're a newcomer to the franchise.

If there's one franchise out there that can be described as 'the gift that keeps on giving', Konosuba deserves to be in that conversation. What started as an anime adaptation back in 2016 quickly attracted a global audience. Since its airing in 2017, fans had to endure a 7 year long drought before this season finally aired. It's part of the mainline series that brings back our comedic adventurers, led by the hikkimori Kazuma Satou. When it comes to the premise and overall style, Konosuba needs no introduction. It sells itself through the sheer amount of comedy, satirical jokes, and overall lighthearted storytelling. There are dramaticmoments from time to time, but most that is played on by humor. That has been Konosuba's strongest point as the show never took itself seriously from day one. Watching the third season gives a familiar impression when we see Kazuma on his adventures with Aqua, Megumi, and Darkness. Among one of the first segments includes them encountering an elf who feigns being a damsel in distress before their true colors are revealed. This is played off as more of a parody after Kazuma discovers the truth. And yes, that is how Konosuba usually cooks up its comedy. Among the most noticable strengths in this show is the unorthodox chemistry between the main cast. While the group has gotten very close to each other, there are still many moments when each member can't stand each others' personalities and habits. For instance, Darkness' sadism carries into this season that Kazuma still has a hard time adapting to. Megumin's chūnibyō characteristics continues to appear frequently to the annoyance of her friends. And Aqua, who can forget about her childlike-tendencies? Fundamentally, each of the main cast are flawed in some way. Kazuma himself is also his own worst enemy at times when he makes irrational decisions. But hey, who are we to judge? This anime is absolutely self aware of what it's doing and that's to use these flaws to spice up that popcorn entertainment. Konosuba's third season also introduces us to some fresh faces including princess Iris and her aides, most noticably Claire. Iris' tomboyish personality along with her curiousity causes Kazuma's daily life to spiral into chaos. Luckily, Iris herself turns out to be a rather friendly person and views Kazuma as a friend. He serves as a guide for Iris and rids of the lonliness she feels. Despite the comedic nature of their relationship, most it is innocent. Konosuba's humor sometimes go over the line but this season sticks with its roots. On occasions, it still pulls off wacky gimmicks such as body swapping or Darkness' everlasting sadism. Other times, it occasionally dives into more emotional drama in the case of Darkness' story arc this season. Just do yourself and get used to it. It's not going to change any tme soon because this is Konosuba. If we compare this show with more modern mainstream anime, the visual quality is subpar at best. Some fans go as far as label Konosuba a "low budget" anime, but this is mostly done intentionally. The main selling point is the cartoony moments and character expressions rather than how stellar the art looks. Let me just say that since the first episode back in 2016, this anime hasn't lost its touch. You're going to get the same style of Konosuba's art budget and that's not some secret. The promotional material and visuals showed that Konosuba will always be what it wants to be.
