Synopsis
Shibuya, Tokyo, is bustling with the Halloween season. A wedding is being held at Shibuya Hikarie, where Sato is dressed in a wedding dress. While Conan and the other invited guests are watching, an assailant suddenly bursts in, and Takagi, who was trying to protect Sato, is injured. Takagi survived and the situation was settled, but in Sato's eyes, the image of the grim reaper that she had seen when Jinpei Matsuda, the man she had been in love with, had been killed in a series of bombings three years ago, overlapped with Takagi's. At the same time, the perpetrator of the bombings escapes from prison. Rei Furuya/Toru Amuro, a member of the public safety police, is hunting down the man who killed his classmate, but a mysterious person in disguise suddenly appears and puts a collar bomb on him. Conan visits the underground shelter where Amuro is hiding out to disarm the collar bomb, and hears about an incident three years ago when he and his now deceased classmates from the police academy encountered an unidentified virtual bomber named "Plamya" in Shibuya. As Conan and his team investigate, a disturbing shadow begins to loom over them. (Source: Detective Conan World)

Actually I didn’t plan to write my review until this movie had at least sunk in a little but here I am doing it anyway. But before that let me start off with a little story (don’t worry it won’t be too long). For some years now I’ve been watching the Detective Conan movies without expecting too much new and exciting stuff and that’s how I mostly feel about them: meh. Repetitive, full of unnecessary action scenes, too much Detective Boys and it’s not even canon. So they are not even close to the first movies. But this all changed today when I watched thismovie. Is it the greatest one of all the Detective Conan movies out there? You’ll find out in my conclusion (but I’m trying my best to keep this review spoiler-free). Story 8/10 So I’ve gotta admit that the Halloween theme is not my favorite and thus the reason I hesitated to watch this movie. But I do feel like the entire “dressing up” and celebrating Halloween is not that important to the plot itself except for some tricks that were pulled thanks to this. So I’ll let it slide. For the past movies it almost felt like the writers simply threw some stuff together but with this one I really like how the story is well woven together and almost to a point I’d call it genius (ALMOST because of course it has a lot of unrealistic action scenes as well which made me roll my eyes). Aside from the fact that at one point it was easy to figure out who was behind this crime, it still managed to keep me on the edge of my seat. Which was also thanks to certain characters contributing a lot to this movie (and I will get to that in a bit, so please bear with me patiently). And while I figured out certain aspects of this case early on, there were others still a mystery which made it a very interesting case to watch. At no point did it get boring. Seeing how Conan solved it and that this time around he actually had to rely on others to help him too, was refreshing to watch. (I’d get into more details but this would only spoil it). The only thing that really bugged me (again aside from the ridiculous action scenes) was the fact that Ai and Conan suddenly spoke a language which might never be mentioned again and which was played out as normal and no one bothered to question. Characters 9/10 Probably one of the best aspects of this movie. I love Furuya so what should I say? I am biased. I also love his “gang” even though their sad backstory always grabs me emotionally. But I loved to see more of them. And whenever I think I can’t like him more they make him center of a movie. Although he’s as OP as Conan I liked to see a different side of him in this one (even more crazy but that’s fine). I also liked the focus on Matsuda. Of course the main characters were not different from usual and I really liked the parts with Takagi and Sato (especially one scene which is absolutely worth the watch). Also some of the characters introduced and specifically for this movie were great and there was one specific scene with Conan and one of the supporting characters that felt really emotional even though we just had one movie with these characters. The writers did a great job at pulling on some heartstrings that made me want to tear up (I didn’t but almost). Another character I’d like to mention is the villain. While in some aspects it might be the same with any other in this case the culprit did something I’d expect and almost hope from more of them. In most movies or episodes the culprits just admit defeat after being exposed and that’s it. In this case it’s interesting to see a slightly different turn of events and I really like this. It makes it even more exciting to watch and even adds some “salt” to that person. Also a little bonus: the Detective Boys (although kind of present in the movie) didn’t annoy me as much as usual. That’s something… Animation 8/10 While I read some negative takes on this I think the animation is better than in some of the other recent movies. To me it was pretty good and made it even more enjoyable to watch. Overall 9/10 I wouldn’t have thought that I’d enjoy this movie so much since I’ve been so used to getting more and more critical with these movies. While I did enjoy the 24th movie much better than the 23rd it still was slightly forgettable in the end. But I have the feeling it won’t be the case with this movie and I’ll definitely re-watch it. So is it my new favorite Detective Conan movie? No. But it might be among my favorites from the more recent era (movies 15-25). Along with movie 22 “Zero the Enforcer” (I really wish people couldn’t tell which characters I like the most). I’d totally recommend this movie to everyone who loves Detective Conan. It might be more enjoyable if you are at least a little familiar with this series but not necessarily. So please go ahead, grab some popcorn and enjoy this very nice movie :) ♥

- The mystery is good - Everything makes sense by the end of the movie - The animation is solid 7/10 Other than that everything else feels outdated. It feels like watching a mid 2000s anime series. Unless you are a "massive" & "hardcore" Detective Conan fans this movie feels like a drags. - too many plot armor - the bomb mechanism & explosion is not realistic at all - Conan should have been dead more than 3 times Tho I admit, watching this movie while turning off your brains is pretty enjoyable. The mystery is fun to explore & pretty smart, but everything else is only fun to watch whenyou turn off your brain.

Detective Conan Movies Rewatch Before Watching Movie 26: Movie 25 This movie was just cliche upon cliche, cheesy moments upon cheesy moments...yet I loved every second of it. Movie 25 fully embraces "character" as the central focus and created the most emotional DC movie ever (so far, I have yet to see M26). Friendship, romance, tragedy, anger, betrayal, there were plenty of dynamic relationships shown throughout the movie, yet all were balanced well. None of the major characters introduced were marginalized, all were treated with care. Then, the soundtrack of the movie was superb. Yugo Kanno took over from the legendary Katsuo Ono and brought overa completely different style. While the soundtrack can be cheesy at times, it was memorable and accentuated some of the emotional moments throughout the movie. The case itself was good despite a lack of tricks, as the investigation process was set up well and logically. If there was only one negative thing I would say about the movie, I would say it's the climax, which is more nonsensical than ever, as DC movies have to one-up the predecessor. Overall, for me, as a long-time DC fan that has grown to love the characters, this movie was like a Halloween treat. What a great movie. 9/10

TLDR: MY DOG RECOMMENDS THIS MOVIE!!! My dog has never shown interest in watching TV. We showed her a minions movie the other day and she only glanced at the TV about 3 times. Today, I watched this movie with her. Guess how many times she glanced at the TV? . . . ANSWER: She was staring at the TV the ENTIRE TIME. Watched the whole movie with me. Went from sitting up to laying down (a more relaxing position) halfway through the movie. And if you think she wasn't paying attention, she had reacted accurately with what's happening on screen. When a suspenseful scene happens, her ears would flop up. Whensomeone gets kidnapped or a bomb goes off, she'd sit up in alert. She also barked when the dogs barked in the movie. So if my dog likes this when she normally has zero interest in watching TV, you betcha this is a good movie to watch. Solid 8/10 if you ask my dog (yes I actually asked her she said it's very good)

This is the best Detective Conan movie in a long time. The story is great and how it all comes together near the end is just very satisfying to watch. I really like Amuro, he's one of my favorite characters in the show, who sadly doesn't get much exposure. So seeing a movie heavily focused on him tell a very enjoyable story was a delight. The narrative is very enjoyable and even tense at times. The twist is alright, I saw it coming but it will be surprising for people who aren't that accustomed to the mystery genre. They do great character development for the charactersand the movie is also paced nicely. If you are a detective Conan fan who hasn't watched the show or films in a while then you should consider giving this one a shot. I'm also very hyped for the next Sherry/Ai focused movie 26. I love her dynamic with Shinichi/Conan, she's easily the best female character of the show. Going forward I hope the films keep improving and we get awesome canon fanservice out of them. I'd say this game is a solid 8/10 in my eyes.

Watched it last Thursday (on it's official release date in Singapore ). I gotta say, it lived up to my expectations, awesome movie. I loved the plot and the story, the characters are funny and entertaining. I love the main plot of the story, it was very interesting I think it suits well. The characters never disappoint me, they're cool and fantastic. The romance, drama and comedy scenes are nicely handled. Overall, an awesome movie for 2022. The storyline was interesting. The characters (as always) are entertaining and fun with some funny moments. The drama and action scenes were nicely done. Definitely an epic movie. I'll give this movie asolid 10/10 and an "A+".

i've been watching conan for 20 years now, and conan has degraded to a mediocre anime. This is bad, so bad that conan has become an action anime movie and a hero and not a detective anymore, you can hate me all you want, but i will say what's on my mind, there's no fun mistery there's no hard code to crack, there's no amusing tricks whatsoever, im so dissapointed in this latest movie, i even consider to never watch conan movie on the theatre ever again. my overall score for this movie is 6 just because i appreciate their hardworks, even tho it's not payed off

I enjoy this movie a lot. It has a nice story and good plot, I love the involvement of Russian which is a good addition to the ordinary English words used in anime movies. The animation is definitely not the best and some of the dialogue is a bit cheesy as always, but I enjoy this movie a lot compare to the 24th movie which is quite a letdown. The jokes are properly put within the movie, the opening songs are always great, the story pace are well put, and the climax is pretty fantastic. I love all the police involvement, detective boys, and all theplamya victims gathering around to save the city. The movie is action-packed and has the solid story from the beginning to the end, it was pretty neat and well written. The villain is also a great addition! This movie such a good redemption towards a more ordinary previous movies and i hope they will continue to maintain this quality even more in the next movie! P.s: do watch it in cinemas if its available in your nearest cinemas!

I would say I'm very hyped for this movie as many reviews I've seen online said the movie was way better than the previous ones. It indeed did not disappoint me - For the storyline ,I will give it an 8 because I think that some parts of the story seem awkward ( idk why) but the overall storyline was fine, and there was also a cute ShinRan scene. The art style is still the same as the previous few movies but the scenes are animated better, and thankfully they didn't draw Rei in the weird style of the anime now. For enjoyment I will give 8 asthe humour was there throughout the movie and the meme made everyone in the cinema crack up , so do stay until the credits part are over !

Certainly one of the more interesting one in the recent year without any hype of FBI/Kid/Black Organization Story: 9/10 I find it more direct, easier to understand, while keeping it as a movie instead of series/episodes, so probably the younger audience will not have a tough time enjoying the movie. As usual, it adopts the style of past movies (two different parties are trying to solve a case or solving a case via two different places) but one notable change for the story style is there is only one main event compared to the past. (main event which lead us to another grand finale event) Art: 7/10 It is standardfor a movie like this caliber. However anything with blue+red/pinkish would definitely be gorgeous to watch. Sound: 6/10 The annual opening music (the first 15 second unique tone) is sub-par in my opinion. Apart from that, it is normal throughout the movie until the closing part of the movie which soundtracks were extensively used is noticeable. Glad that the rare vocal main theme was used with another new version of it. Character: 9/10 When there is a Russian ethnic female appearing in the series, you can expect how she gotta look like. Yup, this one is no different than the rest. Joke aside, if you are looking for a character development outside of the main series, NO, if you are a fan of the police department, this serves well as a character side-development/past. Enjoyment: 9/10 Find it very enjoyable and exciting, easy to follow, and 2 hours just past in a pinch. There is no excessive or partial part that only the local Japanese would understand/popular within Japanese like movie 07 or 21, so it is a huge plus for the global audience. STAY UNTIL THE CREDITS/ENDING SONG IS OVER, meme is great. Overall: 8/10 Still, the legendary Movie 06: Phantom of Baker Street remains UNTOUCHABLE, hopefully... HOPEFULLY, next year movie 26 with the hype of B/O, this time around with Gin + fan favorite Haibara (Sherry involved confirmed) would make it at least slightly closer to it.

This year's movie was probably the most interesting than the previous entries of Detective Conan movies. Animation and character designs were good. The movie had a good story and goshh, this time it was not forced action scenes but instead it was fully focused on the story and the main plot of the movie .It was a fabulous combination of mystery, drama and storyline. Police Academy characters were used nicely. It was also kinda serious and emotional. The Movie's main theme, OSTs and ending theme was too good. Believe me, you have to go to the theatres and experience this movie, because Conan franchise has created anexcellent movie after a long wait.

I'm big fan to detective Conan anime and really like all the old movies for this anime. But unfortunately, all the recently released movies are low quality and I don't know why?!! :/ I feel that the last parts of these films are becoming more and more aimed for the children, like movie 2021 and 2022. 1- Start with the STORY: The story in this movie is not as we are accustomed to from the writer, the script is not good and the issue that was talked about is simple and not complicated as usual, so that since the beginning of the film I was ableto analyze and know everything about it :( >> 4 of 10 << 2- The ART: The art and animation is very good like usual. >> 8 of 10 << 3-The SOUND: It was good specially if you watched on cinema. >> 8 of 10 << 4- The CHARACTER: The main characters related to this film were not shown in an attractive and impressive way. They were very ordinary. I was so excited about what their past would be like and I was expecting to cry for their parting but unfortunately it didn't happen. They were shown in a very ordinary way. I was so disappointed :( :| >> 5 of 10 << 5- ENJOYMENT: I was excited and amused from the beginning of the movie, but as time passed my enjoyment gradually decreased to the point that I fell asleep in the last scene :| >> 4 of 10 << OVERALL >> 5.8 of 10
