Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom undoubtedly stands out as a cohesive and immersive movie, rather than a mere compilation of episodes. Several creative decisions contribute to its success, but here are five critical points that make this film noteworthy: 1. Neia as the P.O.V. Character: Choosing Neia over Remedios as the main character was a wise decision. Neia's perspective offers a more relatable and engaging narrative, whereas Remedios, being unlikable even in the novel's synopsis, might have alienated the audience. 2. Utilizing Nazarick's Characters: The movie smartly brings characters like Demiurge and CZ to the forefront. Demiurge's significant role, which was downplayed in Season 4, adds depth tothe plot. Meanwhile, CZ gets more screen time, balancing the focus on the Nazarick stable effectively. 3. Impact on Ainz's Presence: With Neia as the main character, Ainz Ooal Gown takes a backseat, often relegated to offscreen roles. This shift means fewer epic battles involving Ainz, contrasting with his main-event status in Season 1. 4. Albedo's Limited Screen Time: Ainz and Demiurge's adventures in the Sacred Kingdom leave Albedo managing the Sorcerer Kingdom. Despite her reduced screen time to merely five minutes, she remains impactful. However, other guardians are not as fortunate, receiving even less attention. 5. Overall Experience: For fans, this movie was worth the wait. It keeps the audience yearning for more Overlord content. The hope for another movie or season is high, even if it means exploring original stories, as long as they serve as direct sequels to this film. In conclusion, Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom delivers a well-rounded and engaging cinematic experience, balancing character development, plot progression, and fan expectations. The film's unique narrative choices and character utilization make it a must-watch for any Overlord enthusiast.

Personal assessment of watching the latest Overlord franchise film based on the experience of watching it directly in the cinema In terms of Animation 8/10 considering that this is an adaptation of the film format, of course it has special features such as some visual improvements that are better than TV shows In terms of CG usage 7/10 CG in this latest film has some significant improvements from the TV series version In terms of story adaptation from Light novel 6/10 the studio has summarized and even eliminated some of the stories and details that occur in the light novel which makes certain moments a bit flat, somefights that occur in the light novel are also shortened. In terms of the soundtrack used in the film 9/10 for this the studio can always choose music that is very suitable for this franchise, even in previous seasons The soundtrack they use is always good. In terms of introducing some new characters and old characters in this series 7/10 actually the score could be higher but some new characters in this movie do not have much time for their background introduction in front of the screen like in the light novel book, and some old characters like other Nazarick members only become guest stars in their own movies like Albedo who has a rather small appearance in front of the screen. Overall rating 8/10 if I were not a big fan of this franchise maybe the score would be lower In my opinion, this movie can still be enjoyed especially for those of you who like the previous seasons and are curious about the events that were skipped in season 4 of the TV show

The Overlord franchise is back with one of their latest films titled Overlord sacred Kingdom Taking the story setting in volumes 12 and 13 of the light novel that was skipped in season 4 of the TV show, this film will tell the story of the sacred kingdom that is being attacked by the Demi-human army, our important character in this film is Neia Baraja, a Paladin soldier of the sacred kingdom. This film presents an extraordinary dark fantasy viewing experience displayed with sharper visuals and the use of CG with better quality than the TV show version Don't forget they also once again managed to choosea soundtrack that has a rhythm that is very typical of this franchise And for the problem of them summarizing or even cutting some of the storylines that occur in the two volumes of the light novel, I can still understand it, as we know it is not easy to summarize the two volumes of the light novel, especially if it is made into one two-hour film, which requires the studio to choose what important scenes should be included in the film At least in my opinion the studio can still make an adaptation that captures the essence of the Overlord franchise. Like the character development, behind-the-scenes conspiracy strategies, and some of the series' signature misunderstanding jokes I highly recommend this movie to anyone who enjoyed the previous seasons, even for a long-time fan of the franchise, this latest movie is still very much worth watching.

The Overlord Sacred Kingdom film is the third film in the Overlord franchise that has solid animation from its visuals and the use of CG that is more enhanced than the TV version. In this film we will follow the journey of the new character Neia Baraja in facing conditions where her kingdom is being attacked or invaded by the Demi-human army. Don't forget that this film also presents a distinctive soundtrack from Overlord itself which makes old fans of this series will immediately like it. In this film, it also allows the studio to make some of the impacts of the events that occurin the film more, because as we know that the expenditure of a film is more than the TV version. However, even so, this film also has several problems, such as the problem of the tempo of the story at the beginning of the film which seems rushed, we jump from one scene to another without making some of the scenes that occur more interesting. some fight scenes are also skipped or made very concise which makes some of the events that occur feel a bit flat. However, seeing the studio's efforts to include the two volumes of light novels into one two-hour film, maybe this can be understood a little. The studio also did not forget to include some important essences of the Overlord franchise into this latest film such as character development, conspiracy strategies carried out behind the scenes, Overlord's signature comedy that always begins with a misunderstanding. In my opinion, this film is still very much worth watching, especially for old fans of the Overlord franchise.

Overlord sacred Kingdom is probably the best film adaptation of the Overlord franchise so far Taking the events in both light novel volumes 12 and 13, we will follow the journey of new character Neia Baraja in dealing with the conditions of her kingdom being invaded by the Demi-human army Made with very solid visuals seen from the animation and use of CG experiencing some quality improvements. This film also allows the studio to provide some more impact events The soundtrack used is also no less good than the previous seasons, the typical Overlord franchise music that will definitely make old fans like it immediately This film also hassome shortcomings such as the problem of a rushed tempo at the beginning of the story but approaching the middle they start to do it better, there are also some battle events that are skipped or even tried to be summarized, To adjust to the duration of the film which causes some moments that occur to be rather flat. However, considering that the studio has tried to adapt both light novel volumes into one 2-hour film. Maybe this can be a little understandable I recommend to anyone who enjoyed the previous seasons of this franchise, to watch this movie.

The latest film in the Overlord franchise brings a more epic dark fantasy viewing experience to the big screen. The studio also made this film have solid animation and made some improvements to the CG quality that is better than the TV show version As a long-time fan of this franchise I was very interested in how this film captured the important essence of this series, especially through the development of new characters and some dramatic conspiracies carried out by Nazarick. However, the tempo of the story in the early stages seemed a bit rushed, like moving quickly from one scene to the next withoutthem giving enough room for certain moments to breathe Although this film is quite enjoyable. A reader of the Light novel like me might see some details that are omitted or even tried to be summarized, which makes parts of the story have a bit of a flat moment. But considering that the Studio has tried to adapt both volumes of the light novel into one two-hour film, maybe this can be a little understandable. Personal score for the viewing experience 9/10 even though it has pacing problems but in some parts it is still very enjoyable.

This latest film has solid animation. Great action scenes and visuals. The animation is made to have some improvements from previous seasons. Some CGs have also improved. In terms of the story at the beginning the tempo feels a bit rushed but entering the middle the studio starts to do it better. The new characters introduced are also very good. Moreover, the development of this new character can also be felt in the film, they do it quite well Watching it last month directly in the cinema, this film presents an unforgettable viewing experience In terms of entertainment, I was very entertained by the adaptationgiven by the studio, this film is still very worthy to watch, especially for old fans of the Overlord franchise.

The Overlord Sacred Kingdom film returns with a dark fantasy story that is no less exciting than the TV series version By adapting both volumes 12 and 13 of the light novel book, in this film we will be shown more of the perspective of our new character Neia Baraja whose kingdom is being invaded by the Demi-human army Made with visuals and CG that have undergone several improvements from the TV series, this film also allows the studio to show more of the impact of the chaos from the events that occur In my opinion, this third film is the best film in the Overlord franchise sofar, because the first and second films were only Recaps This latest film also has a good soundtrack, which may be an added value that I can admit, the studio always presents good music in every season, including the third film from the Overlord franchise Even so, this film has some problems with the tempo of the story such as the beginning of the story being rushed but approaching the middle of the story they start to make it better. As a light novel reader, I understand that not all stories that occur in the LN can be adapted because the film has a limited duration that forces the studio to make cuts to the storyline to fit the limitations of the film's duration. But don't worry, the studio still managed to make a film that captures the important essence of the Overlord franchise, such as character development, and the behind-the-scenes conspiracy that the members of Nazarick will carry out. I still highly recommend this film for anyone who enjoyed the previous seasons.

Summary : Ains Ooal Gown, formerly Momonga, leads the Sorcerer Kingdom's undead forces to ally with the Sacred Kingdom and Slane Theocracy against Demon Emperor Jaldabaoth. Art. : for me, as a child the gore is not that gory. But the art derection its good and the CGI not half bad. From other season, its improvemant I give it 9/10 Story. : But the strory direction is different. The first 15 munite they already coverd litle of half the book in novel 12. So they cut a lot of backgroundof the character and the kindom story. Making when you watch the movie for the first time without the novel. You feel don't know who and what happen so its feel cluncky. But the rest is fine. 6/10 Voice actor: phenomenan all of them expect CZ2128 Delta the lipsing is kind off. The animation giving CZ2128 too much emotion in their animation but the voice is like emotionless. But i know she a robot. 8/10

The Overlord The Sacred Kingdom film takes the light novel story between volumes 12 and 13. If placed in the time setting of the TV anime series, the story takes place in season 4, episodes 7-8, in this film the story will take place in the Arc Roble Holy Kingdom, we will see more focus on the new character Neia Baraja, one of the holy kingdom soldiers who is looking for the meaning of true justice. This film may be the only best film from the Overlord Anime franchise for now How could it not be, this film provides a duration of more than 2hours of viewing experience with better visuals and sharper image coloring than the TV series version, the use of CG is also made smoother However, this film also still has shortcomings such as making some story cuts that can be felt directly by Light novel readers if this film has a fairly fast storytelling tempo and eliminates some details from the Light novel, maybe to adjust to the duration of the film In addition, at least there are also details of the story that occurs in the Light Novel that are still included in the film even though not much Therefore, this film is still very worthy of watching, especially for fans of the Overlord franchise Just a suggestion for viewers who have just watched this anime and are curious about the story of the film, it is better to watch the TV series version first which consists of 4 seasons with a total of 52 episodes before watching this film so that it is more connected and understands the storyline that will be presented in the film.

Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom delivers everything fans of the series sharp twists, complex characters, and moments that make you sit back and think. The story dives into the Roble Holy Kingdom’s desperate fight, giving new depth to characters like Remedios and Neia while keeping Ainz’s calculated plans at the heart of it all. The animation is top-notch, and the soundtrack hits every emotional beat. While the pacing in the first half feels a little rushed, the second half picks up with more action and clever storytelling. For fans of Overlord, this movie is a dark, gripping ride that fits perfectly into the series’ world. Definitely worthwatching!

It was genuinely just okay. Visually, it's very good. It also does the Overlord political maneuvering and manipulation as well as the rest of the series. But it felt like it was too crammed into one long run to adequately cover the whole arc. Major fights upon which the plot hinges are over in an instant when they should have lasted longer (It was supposed to be staged to make it look like a difficult match up for Ainz) and worse yet they happen far off in the distance so you don't even get to enjoy the action and animation together like a regular fight. It's justa couple of colored streaks through the sky and some flashing lights for a minute or so and then a winner is declared. But that's not even the biggest complaint. Half the new characters felt so under-cooked that it made it hard for me to care what was going on. The paladin lady - Remedios - was probably the worst. She was incredibly irritating, and had the potential for a whole mental breakdown arc over the events of the story that could have played out well.... if this were a full season of anime. Unfortunately, a lot of the supporting backstory needed for this is completely omitted. She has no reason for her position, her obsession, nor her drive and it all feels lackluster. Any really compelling moments she could have had throughout the story were either cut entirely or stunted by terrible decisions in directing. Nea Baraha was a decently compelling character, but came off more like a fangirl with how fast she develops her respect for Ainz. Given more time, she too could have been a much better character. It wasn't like I hated her, but she suffered the same effect as Remedios because of the cramming - her writing felt robbed of potency. And all that while the story crams what feels like a lengthy campaign into about 2 hours and 20 minutes, cutting corners in every way it can to reach a conclusion within that time frame, and awkwardly interrupting the story with the whole advertisement for rune technology in a way that wasn't funny or even super important to the plot. Wait until you can watch it from home, get some alcohol, and enjoy. You'll have a better time than I did driving 40 minutes to the nearest showing at 9:30 on a Sunday night.

Overlord the sacred kingdom is the adaptation of volume 13 and 14 , a fan favorite. I was worried about this adaptation because of the words of the director that the action was the focus. I am glad I was wrong. Overlord appeal is and will always be World building and character developement with philosophical themes. The way a moral dilemna is introduced by the author via a character is fascinating. Here the central theme is justice and it is viewed through the two main characters Neia and Custodios. There are other topics explored such as kindness via Calca which is also interesting. Madhouse isaware of the masterpiece of writing called Overlord and thankfully they concentrated their effort on animating the dialogue rather than pointless fight scènes. In the Books, there is only a fight in the arc. Sometimes, there is zero action in the volumes. For example, Season 5 will have one fight maximum in the entire season. So, people who watch overlord for action better drop it now because the next Seasons will be more complex and political than Season 4. If it was up to me, I would have cut all the fight scenes and dedicate the time to further develop Calca' s ideology but I understand Madhouse wanted to strike a balance. Still, I am happy that Madhouse knows what is really important in Overlord. Like I Saïd, the adaptation is not perfect and with the limited runtime the dialogue should have been the only things adapted however It is reassuring that the studio knows what to prioritirize: the conversations. Great job.

I’m a huge overlord fan but this movie is by far the worst representation of the story that I’ve seen. Luckily I read the novels but the plot moves so fast a non novel reader will probably have a hard time understanding what’s going on and they definitely won’t have a solid grasp of the characters that they introduce. So maybe the story isn’t great this movie but the action has to be entertaining at least right? Wrong! The movie also skips pretty much every major action sequence that should take place or if they do show it it’s a very short rushed version that’snot very satisfying to watch at all. Every season of overlord does a pretty good job of telling the story how the novels did with maybe a few details missing here and there but nothing major. If you’re watching this movie without reading the novels you’re doing yourself a disservice because this movie is just objectively bad both compared to the novels and even just as a stand alone movie.

Watched this movie last night and I must say this is not Movie quality, but I enjoyed it anyways. Story: 7 If like me you have read light novels 12 and 13, this is adapted straight from them with no new content. The story might actually be a downgrade from the books but that is just inevitable as its shorter than what we've come to expect. Rune Craft? Ainz's antics are on full display here, and will probably get a laugh or two out of you. Art: 6 For a movie I expected sharper visuals and more animated combat scenes however I was disappointed to see that this isbasically standard TV quality of Season 4, with some horrible angles and budget constants that are very obvious. The big final fight isn't even shown. Characters: 6 It is Overlord with more Overlord characters, unfortunately Albedo and most of the crew only have guest appearances or do not show up at all(just like the books). With the time given the characters of which there are three mains besides Ainz and only one is well enough develop because she doesn't need to develop at all. They do not have the time to flesh out the other two characters at all both of whom have massive are very well developed and have large contributions in book 12 and 13. Music: 5 There is no music tracks I can remember and I watched the movie not even 20 hours ago, thus I will rate the music as standard and I think there was a remix of one of the anime season openings in the credits. Overall Thoughts: 6 This is what id classify as a TV movie forced into theatres. There's not enough here to warrant going to see movie in theatres unless your a big fan of the show. It also doesn't help that they repeated one scene three times. It's good, but its not movie theatre prices good. It lacked memorable fights, music and how this is R rated is beyond me. I think if they added a few more graphic scenes (like 10 more minutes worth)they skipped in the books this would have been a better less rushed feeling movie.

Solid ani-movie. Good action scenes and visuals. The animation feels a bit better than recent seasons. Some jarring CG still for large crowds. Several "skipped" fight scenes (understandably unimportant). Story wise it works well as a movie as it flows well, is directed well, and wraps up cleanly with a short cute after credit scene. The new characters introduced are pretty cool. Solid development for some existing characters. I watched in imax and the experience is not much better audio-wise. This isn't a great "surround sound" experience like normal films, but that is expected. Enjoyment-wise there are many episodes in the tv series that i enjoyed a lotmore. But the movie is still quite entertaining and is certainly a must watch for fans.

Well, Overlord has returned and returned in full glory, again. Just better than ever, as movie budget allowed creators to do technical shaenigans TV show was not really able to pull off. But let's go back to beginning, initial idea of cutting Sacred Kingdom arc wasn't, in my opinion, the best. Whole structure of it fits ideally in the middle of Overlord IV, or rather should. But as we all know creators did good job adapting volumes 10,11 and 14 into season 4 without undermining importance of said arc. Volumes 12 and 13 of the novel were left out and one of my favourite (andpossibly majority of WN and LN fans) arcs had became a movie. And it was done brilliantly. Reason why Demiurge wasn't much of a character in Overlord IV was because he was in the Sacred Kingdom as demon Jaldabaoth with his army of monsters. Now, the whole thing does few great things actively walking between what happened in Overlord 4 and the events of the movie itself. Especially managing between some reworked scenes to fit the storyline and what is happening at what point of the 4th season (the whole thing is taking place simultaneously with the events of the Overlord IV). And, oh boy, this movie is bonkers. I grew more chest hair just by watching it. It also is best adapted novel to anime in the series, 135 minutes runtime helped great deal, even with usual cuts. But let's focus a bit on technical stuff, it is definitely best looking Overlord to date. Both 2D and CGI styles are buffed and on speed, animators outdid themselves here by miles compared to seasons 1-3 (I believe season IV is a massive step up technically). The planning, stills and backgrounds are smooth and rarely eyesore, which is a big upgrade too as sometimes in the show differences between movements and stills were way too visible. Animation itself is smooth af, general animation style is sharper and consistent. Choreography is peaked this time, battle scenes (final one!!!) perfectly executed and pumped enough adrenaline to sit in the edge, the fights choreography also amazing, especially between our main characters when Ainz steps in to do his usual fuckery. Sound design is also nicely upped here, with bigger budget mix itself sound more full and whole experience was much more immersive. As of the music itself it's the usual stuff, bombastic epicness destroying cinemas speakers perfectly blending with the action on the screen. Sound mix itself is stead and very much delivers what it supposed to: maximum enjoyment. Now, from the writing point of view there were few cuts, some could say few too many, can agree with that myself. Unfortunately 2 volumes squeezed in 7 episodes runtime requires some, but it wasn't nearly as bas as I expected, it wasn't bad at all, most of the things that were cut out not going to be massively missed and if anything only for LN readers. It's bit more serious and definitely much more violent. Sacred Kingdom arc on its own is very violent. I'd say the writing itself is the biggest up for me rather than a con as it perfectly blends with Overlord IV, especially at the end. Both LN and anime fans should be more than satisfied and happy. I was. To sum this bit of a review in a few sentences: It's the best Overlord to date, definitely justified cutting the events from the 4th season to present it to us as a movie. Bigger budget, bigger team, bigger everything, bombastic experience. As it should be. Obviously watching it without watching prequels is pointless, it also should be watched AFTER watching Overlord IV, the experience will be much better and will reduce confusion. But I doubt anyone will watch it at this point without watching rest of the show. It's more violent, more intensive and incredibly paced, it sounds better and definitely looks better. Perfectly balanced between LN and anime, for once. All hail Ainz Ooal Gown! All hail Overlord! KINO.

This film is very good in terms of animation and CG when compared to the anime version, especially the first two seasons that made my eyes sore. In terms of the story, those of you who have never watched the animation or read the novel might be confused, so I feel that the core of this film can only be enjoyed after you watch the animation, read the novel or at least watch a YouTube video that discusses a little about the world in Overlord so you can imagine what really happened (If you are Indonesian you could watch Megane Sensei for a better understanding). And the fight scenes presented feel very good with lasers and great combination of colors even though they are still under Frieren, which shows that Mad House can still cook seriously (I hope the animator get enough sleep and well paid). Of course, there are some scenes in the novel that are cut or there are scenes that I think are less important, but I am quite satisfied with the content of the story that does not seem rushed considering that this film summarizes two novels. If we talk about shortcomings, there are two things that annoy me about this film. The first is the final battle scene between Ainz and Jaldabaoth which ends with a scene that doesn't feel as grand as their initial fight. And secondly, what really annoys me is because I didn't get the free Overlord novel that was distributed after watching it in the cinema even though I really wanted it.
TheAlmightyNPC
The film was made in the Overlord style so many love, it feels satisfying to watch the way the story is told and even the animation was good. Any fears that the film may had been rushed were unjustified, the love put into this project can be felt while watching it. It is probably one of the best films I have seen so far, it definitely is a worthy addition to the Overlord franchise. LN readers may miss a few scenes, but considering how few screentime the studios had to work with, the result is still amazing. While some moments may feel very fast paced, they also convey the feeling of Overlords regular fast pace, and so it is a good experience. I recommend this film to anyone who liked the previous seasons or manga.
Crestfall
Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom brings the dark fantasy epic to the big screen with striking animation and an enthralling soundtrack. The visual presentation is undoubtedly one of the film's strongest elements. Each scene is carefully crafted, from intense magical battles to the haunting atmosphere that defines the Overlord universe. Fans of the franchise will appreciate the sheer scale and power on display, as well as the attention to detail in character designs and settings. As a long-time fan of Overlord, I found myself deeply engaged with how the movie captured the essence of the series, particularly through its dramatic confrontations and strategic nuances. However, the pacingin the first half did feel somewhat rushed, with transitions that, at times, resembled a powerpoint slideshow, moving rapidly from one scene to the next without allowing enough room for certain moments to fully breathe. While the movie is enjoyable in its own right, readers of the light novels such as myself may notice several omitted or condensed details, which leave parts of the story feeling a bit flat. Given the challenge of adapting two volumes into a two-hour film, this was somewhat expected. Score: 10/10 – A visually impressive and immersive experience, despite some pacing issues. Glory to the 41
