Synopsis
Despite having the upper hand, BC Freedom High School suffers a thorough defeat at the hands of Ooarai Girls Academy. Following their victory, the Ooarai girls decide to take a break before the next round. After discovering that Momo Kawashima is taking care of her family while studying for the university entrance exams, the rest of the Ooarai team become more determined to win the Winter Continuous Track Cup for the sake of Momo and her family. Meanwhile, the second round of the tournament has started, and Ooarai now has to face Chi-Ha-Tan Academy. Having learned from the first round to not underestimate their enemies, Ooarai slowly approaches their opponent on the thick jungle battlefield. Despite their best attempts to be cautious, Ooarai is immediately put in a difficult situation as Chi-Ha-Tan employs several new strategies devised by Haru Fukuda. Finding themselves between a rock and a hard place, Ooarai must claw their way out to claim another comeback victory and keep their championship hopes alive. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

Perhaps in a nod to the long time between episodes, the production begins with a brief recap and comedy skit with team Turtle and the BC captain. Then after an updated opening title, we begin right where the last episode left off, with Ooarai having barely survived a brilliant trap set by the BC girls. But our heroes are at least as crafty, and the match ends just like you'd expect, complete with the stereotypical circular firing squad (and I've said too much already). There's a fantastic backstory to the BC team, which is fleshed out in a bonus episode that comes with the Blu-ray. Themiddle part of the episode honestly felt a tad rushed, but this is understandable-- the production wanted to thoroughly develop the Japanese-themed team, Chihatan (also a hilarious pun on the Japanese Chiha tank), and it was clear that all the teams we've seen thus far would dominate the field in the first round. Round 2's match felt more visceral, with Chihatan utilizing the cutthroat tactics used by the Japanese army during World War 2 (without the war crimes). Ooarai turning the tables towards the end and Chihatan getting away with their lead intact was a satisfying drama to watch. I do like how they turned what was a one-trick pony, 2-dimensional comic relief team from the movie into a team that can learn and improve, even if they have to be tricked or ordered into it. Visually, there's the usual cute girls riding physics-defying tanks, though there wasn't too much of the latter in the second round match. This episode features the second night battle, and with better lighting effects (muzzle flashes, tracer rounds, bloom effects) from the TV show along with better camera control (vibration), you get a much more immersive and intense show, thoroughly bringing the audience along for the ride. Likewise, the audio draws you in, using the fantastic soundtrack to highlight dramatic moments, and going heavy with the gunfire, the growl of the engines and treads, and armor pings to accentuate the fierce combat. A fine addition to the Finale series, and it leaves you wishing for a time machine so you can watch the next episode.

The second part to the film series has landed ! (im like a couple of years late tho😂) so let’s CHARGE right in! Story picks up in the fields at the end of the das finale 1 and managed to flow on smoothly can’t say more you’ll have to see it yourselves 8/10 Art has improved since the last version. The review is in 2021 and art has gotten better but nonetheless smooth snd high quality! 9/10 Sounds are nice with quality tank sounds and all sorts of noises Miho makes. Same theme from the original work with a new song from an old friend. 8/10 All characters( with minorexceptions) are familiar faces and one specific group of people has shown significant development so an extra point for that! 9/10 After watching das finale 1&2 back to back I had to say it feels like the same film and it’s absolutely amazing a must watch for fans of GuP, I must say the wait is long but when it’s done I will say that all will be worth awhile!!

Ahhhh, this was such a wholesome movie to watch......♥ I HAVE NOT WATCHED THE ANIME SERIES, THIS IS PURELY A REVIEW OF THE MOVIES This is both a PART 1&2 review because its hard for me to really separate the two as they flow nicely together. Part 2 is just a continuation of the events of the first movie which is impressive because movie sequels don't tend to have the same quality as each other. This is why people always say the first is the best. In this case, both parts 1&2 connect beautifully together that it doesn't feel like I'm watching two separate films but thesame one just split into two parts. Important things to keep in mind are that I personally would not watch this series myself. I was intrigued by the premise as a friend recommended it and my friends were planning on watching it together. I thought I would find the most enjoyable part being their commentary as its always so entertaining even if I didn't end up liking the anime, I would still have fun. At least that's what I thought. What ended up happening was I was so absorbed in the story that time seemed to go by fast and by the time the second one finished I was craving more. Why though? The characters are cookie-cutter stylistically that its like they're the anime doppelgangers for other series. Theirs also such a plethora of characters that unless you have already seen the anime series you might not appreciate them as much. Might even be confused but just like with any anime, the stars of the show tend to show themselves. By the end of the movies, I had developed a love for the characters and an appreciation of the plotline where I want to now watch the anime series itself and not just the movies. The concept of games of war using tanks from different countries and periods of history as a team sport is both strange and revolutionary to me. This concept alone intrigued me enough to want to know more - keep in mind, I wouldn't look for a story like this myself. The main premise of these movies is those war games. Most of the movie is dedicated to that and pregame re-con. All in the hopes of winning and being able to help their senpai graduate. [Seriously so wholesome XD] My favorite part is that this sports series is better at strategizing then an actual anime based on war or fighting that I have seen in a while. It isn't like two mechs half hazard fighting one another where the pilot somehow miraculously wins. The conflict is intense and strategic where you never know what team will win until the very end. Your on the edge of your seat the whole time which is great because do you really want a predictable anime? No. That's boring. One good thing about sports-based anime series is that you never know what the outcome will be. Its not about OP characters who you expect will win because they are the protagonist. Instead your constantly on the edge of your seat because the goal may be winning but that doesn't mean they will. However, it doesn't take away the overall enjoyment you feel when you watch. This can't really be said for series that have a conflict based storyline because if its not done in a good way, it can look really bad, be it story or animation or both. I would say that due to its unique plot with historic details, action-packed animation with first-person perspectives, entertaining characters, and overall wholesome enjoyment, its a great watch.

Girls & Panzer: Saishuushou Part 2 Continuing exactly from where part 1 left off we have another fantastic part to the existing show. Part 2 continues the fight against the BC Freedom High School and shows us how other schools are doing and finishes with the first half of the fight against the Chi-Ha-Tan Academy team. The part where it shows the other teams performing is very nice and I am glad to see Anzio Girls High School doing well and also a funny shot of their usual food parties aftermath. Anchovy my favourite is always good to see. The art used in the show isexcellent and perfectly suited to the format of the show. The girls are all very cute in this Cute Girls do Tankery show. The Soundtrack is excellent as expected. The battle sounds are great and the voices are perfectly suited. Character development is already very set for the main cast but they do continue to reveal more. The other two schools shown as the main opponents this time have a really nice development. Marie is a very cute character and the girls are all unique. I love the historical figure relations many have. The Shark team are a great addition as seen from part 1. Overall part 2 is very enjoyable and this is an absolute must-watch along with the entirety of the content available.

I've watched a fair share of "cute girl doing cute things" anime. And even in a department full of cliches and overused tropes like this, Girl and Panzer is still somewhat a uniquely hilarious show with its whackiness nature and a captivating game of war tank. Almost a year has past since the second part of Girls & Panzer: Saishuushou aired in Japan, finally I can get a hold of it. Coming in with high expectation, fortunately, Des Finale didn't disappoint. In the span of nearly an hour, it presented a very fast pace with 2 tank games picking up right where it left off.The battles with BC and Chihatan also shows some of the most masterful tactic I've seen in the anime. Along with the interaction between the characters as funny as ever, it manages to capture my attention till the last minute. If you have followed through the Girl and Panzer franchise til this day, what are you waiting for? Watch the second part of Girl and Panzer: Des Finale as soon as possible. Panzer Vor.

Das Finale 2 wasted no time, and so I shall waste no time, it immediately picks up at the exact spot at which the last one left off, which I can respect, they didn’t need a recap, so they didn’t put one in there, as some titles like to do, and, well, you can kind of figure out what happens after that, they finish the battle with BC, which concluded rather well, watching a well thought out and orchestrated plan unfold is always good, as was this one, it’s what you’ve come to expect, the same gripping armoured combat we’ve come to expect by now, and, at its core, it works great, I really haven’t got any complaints, I don’t know if we really needed another montage of them singing the Onion March, I figured once was enough, or maybe have Ooarai sing something instead, speaking of which, most of this battle is from the perspective of BC, rather than Ooarai, which works very well, Nishizumi establishes she needs to do something, then it shifts to BC, and only a few minutes before ending is it established what it is she did, and, when all is said and done, it works well, she’s no Hannibal, but, first half of the film is the battle between BC and Ooarai, and it’s a good one, not to mention the production value’s definitely gone up since last time. Afterwards, we get a bit of typical slice of life stuff, going to cafes and what have you, bit of a montage of various other schools fighting, wouldn’t have minded seeing more of the Koala Team, but, anyway, Ooarai then proceeds to fight Chihatan, which, like the fight with BC last time, ends on a cliffhanger, and I’ve never particularly liked cliffhangers, especially when you’ve got to wait several years for them to end, so, not too big on that, but, at its core, there’s nothing wrong with Das Finale 2, it’s the same shoujo and sensha action you’ve come to expect by this point, it’s nothing groundbreaking, but, there’s not a dull moment throughout, it gives you everything you’ve come to expect, and just a little bit of extra flavour to make it better, definitely a solid pick for anyone who likes girls, panzers, or anything in between.

It's been nearly 2 years since the first film, and I must say it's worth the wait. Let's just hope won't take that long for the third fim to come out. The second film is more action heavy than the first, having 2 matches in one film with short glimpses of the other school teams matches against other school team. Some of them needs to be fully introduced. Like the Koala team with their khaki Outback uniform makes me wonder if they really listen to that silent Koala as their team captain. With Spain big-breasted team versus team Saunder's, it's Kay's killer thigh's the winner. Theyhaven't shown any character from team Viking, which is a shame. I only saw one character from the Polish team. Both of main matches deals with aspect of being lost in a maze and the team that can use their surroundigs to their advantage is the winner. Even with fast rushing action and dizzying surroundings one doesn't feel confused of the narrative and can easily catch the storyline, a sign of good directing and filmaking. I like how in both BC freedom and the Chihatan match we are more focused on the opponents characters, not Oorai. We follow through BC and Chihatan as they go about their plan. We see the battle in their eyes more so than from the Oorai girls. It's quite refreshing as we get to know more of these characters than the main team, who we are now quite familiar now. We see more that Marie is the glue that keep peace with the two opposing factions of BC freedom. Her acrobatic skills are nothing to sneeze at. Sadly, Shark team did'nt do to well in this episode. It shows their lack experience, much like Anteater team was in final episodes of the TV. Hopefully they would do well in the next movie. The MVP of the match today is Sodoko's Mallards, they're the first one to notice the ambush in the first movie and now they sow havok in the second film. They we're able to save team Hippo too in the second match. Chihatan learns quite quickly from Oorai, thanks to Fukuda keeping airheaded Nishi and hot-headed other girls in check. It's always funny how they always try to do outdated WW1 tactics but still willing to try out the new "cowardly" modern tactics of tankery, but giving it a more "honorable" spin. Again, a very enjoyable and exciting movie. Worth the long wait, if Actas can keep up the quality, all is right with world. Though being expeditious would be much appreciated.
