Synopsis
After the fierce battle on Rakuyou, the untold past and true goal of the immortal Naraku leader, Utsuro, are finally revealed. By corrupting the Altana reserves of several planets, Utsuro has successfully triggered the intervention of the Tendoshuu’s greatest enemy: the Altana Liberation Army. With Earth as the main battleground in this interplanetary war, Utsuro's master plan to destroy the planet—and himself—is nearly complete. An attack on the O-Edo Central Terminal marks the beginning of the final battle to take back the land of the samurai. With the Yorozuya nowhere in sight, the bakufu all but collapsed, and the Shogun missing, the people are left completely helpless as the Liberation Army begins pillaging Edo in the name of freeing them from the Tendoshuu's rule. Caught in the crossfire between two equally imposing forces, can Gintoki, Kagura, Shinpachi, and the former students of Shouyou Yoshida put aside their differences and unite their allies to protect what they hold dear? This is the closer experience you'll get to “Avengers: Endgame” in any anime I've ever seen. While “Gintama°” and “Gintama.” combines the multiple threads previously laid out to deliver an ingeniously written and interwoven narrative, this season takes on the task of calling upon every one of those completed characters from past events for the final confrontation. It starts off strong with a heavily symbolic episode, and then goes on reintroducing recurrent characters and factions and how they have dealt with the new Edo landscape. Every introduction is very considerate to the characters, touching on their central gags and strengths, reminding us of their arc andwhat they learned, making for an overall very amusing experience on the eve of the final confrontation. If you liked “Gintama” up until now, I cannot imagine how you'd not be excited with this arc, although it is a drastic change of pace from the last ones.

I liked Silver Soul It was not *as* good as 2nd season Gintama or even Slip Arc, because I am a fan of comedy. This was still much much better than the atrocity of 5th season. This one is basically people invading earth again, and everyone gets together and fights against the green goblin monsters. Its not a very hard plot to follow on. Whats good is the comedy. And the OP is a banger! Never skipped the OP!!! But I am glad there is a lot of comedy in this one. It was nice. Final Score: 7/10 the comedy was nice but too much action for me. \ Thanks! -CyanCheetah

The anime features a unique blend of comedy, action, drama, and satire, making it a one-of-a-kind viewing experience. The series also pays homage to various anime, manga, and pop culture references, making it a treat for fans of those genres. The main characters of the series include Gintoki Sakata, a lazy samurai who runs a freelance business called Odd Jobs Gin; Shinpachi Shimura, a glasses-wearing teen who joins Odd Jobs Gin as an apprentice; and Kagura, an alien girl with superhuman strength who works with Odd Jobs Gin. The music in "Gintama: Shirogane no Tamashii-hen" is composed by Audio Highs, and it includes a mix of traditionalJapanese music, rock, and pop songs. The opening and ending themes of the series are also quite catchy and memorable. Overall, "Gintama: Shirogane no Tamashii-hen" is a highly recommended anime for those who enjoy a mix of humor, action, and satire.

After completing this portion of Silver Soul, I was left in quite a predicament. On one hand, Gintama is my favorite anime ever so I felt forced into believing that this was actually another perfect gem in the Gintama franchise. On the other, I felt that this just didn't fit with the rest of Gintama and was definitely a step down from the previous parts which were masterpieces; I had to write a review for this arc in particular compared to other parts because this one is highly praised as are the other parts but this one seemed overrated and overpraised to me. After sometime to digest, however, I came to the conclusion that this first half of Silver Soul was good, but a letdown compared to previous arcs in Gintama. Story - 7 The story is set to be a typical shonen finale war arc where the stakes are the highest and one big bad villain takes on the main character and ALL of his allies. Not bad though as if one has made it this far into the series, they will still watch this and care for the story and characters as we have culminated in love and care for the cast and the story all this time. Everything leads up to this moment. Characters - 10 The characters are the same goofballs we have grown to love. By now, every character, quirks and all, has something to contribute to this final arc. And since Gintama is character-driven, one who has been watching all this time should care about the cast by now or why else would they be watching? Animation - 8 Solid stuff. The same quality that has been upheld by Bandai in previous seasons so nothing much to say here. There are some nice fight scenes in this part as most of this arc is pure action. Sound - 7 The OST is the same as always, and it's not bad by any means but they repeat the same 3 or 4 ones over and over again which can be a little annoying at times. The OP and ED are good, but forgettable in my opinion. Voice Acting - 9 One of the strongest parts of Gintama has always been the amount of effort and care that the voice actors give in bringing to life the characters that they play, and this part is no exception to that. Personal enjoyment - 6 I love Gintama a lot. But this part had its flaws. One of the biggest ones is that despite this being the final, and therefore extremely serious arc, they kept shoving in random comedy. Yes, I know that Gintama is a comedy anime, and I love comedy. The comedy they added was funny for sure, but it really diminished the impact and seriousness of the arc, which killed my immersion. In the previous serious arcs, they had this similar formula but in this arc, it didn't sit right with me at all. Another huge issue I had was the absurd amount of plot armor. Just like my previous statement, I acknowledge that Gintoki and co. have always had plot armor in the serious arcs, one cannot deny that. And like the forced comedy, it didn't bother me previously. However, in this part, it was absolutely ridiculous how certain fodder characters in the Kabuki district were able to fight against fodder, elites, and extremely powerful fighters in the Liberation Army. And in extremely goofy ways too. Just like my other point, it really lessens the impact and severity of the situation completely because it becomes hard to take the enemies and arc seriously. Overall - 7 Despite the flaws I stated, I still believe that this part of Silver Soul is entertaining and a key part of the finale of Gintama. Compared to other battle shonen animanga, this part alone is still on par or better. But compared to other arcs that Gintama has to offer, it's lacking. Either way, this part must be watched so no matter what I wrote here, you will watch this because it is necessary for the continuation of the end.

In my opinion, no, actually as a matter of fact, the biggest strength of Gintama has always been the comedy. However, this season explores serious themes and seeks to finally end the anime and tie all loose ends. And it's the absolute worst. Though somehow Gintama the semi-final and final manage to be even worse. First of all, since this is primarily a comedy anime let's talk about it. Well, it has been subpar at the very best. Most of the comedy is just a rip-off of previous seasons (Jet Armstrong Cannon, etc). The fights were boring as fuck because there wasn't any real emotionor interesting backstory behind it. The only one with any interesting backstory is Utsuro, but his story is dragged on for so long that I could barely care. Or maybe it's just me who watched the anime between long periods of breaks because of how boring it was. And Takasugi just felt like a chore at this point. Since this is the last season, why not just resolve all the issues he had as well? Also, all the characters felt very one-dimentional like as if they were zombies saying the same things over and over again. Saying the same catchphrases that we know best in anime when there's literally nothing else to say, for example, "Let's do our best!" or "I'm going to kick his / her ass" etc. Or just repeating what everyone else says over and over again. Since the author really had to include every single character in every single part of the battle, this left Gintama himself with nothing noticeable to do. They literally had a bunch of characters say that they showed up because they were not given enough screen time since they were introduced towards the end of the anime. And they proceeded to do just that! Similarly, Shinpachi and Kagura were equally useless. My main point is that the important characters felt muted with literally everyone piling up and giving their backstories. As a result no one really felt significant, it was like this whole anime was a blur. Honestly, I'm a fan of serious arcs in Gintama, for example the red light district arc or the white police arc (whatever it's called). But, this arc really was a disappointment for all the above reasons. Ironically, all the above-mentioned mistakes were not made in the previous arcs. Maybe it was because the author had in mind that this was primarily a comedy anime and so the anime did not take itself too seriously, always keeping a little bit of humour on the side. However, that is what made the serious moments more fresh and unexpected and impactful. This will always be my favourite comedy anime no matter what the author has done to the final season. However, I feel like this season has cursed me so that I cannot re-watch Gintama for a while now.

Do you blame the author for his stretches of events or the studio for poor graphics and animation, this season is one of the worst seasons for Gintama This is due to several reasons that we will address in this review, but first The story was complementary to the events of the anime, the episodes were not precisely proportioned, as you would feel the slowdown of events to fit in 12 episodes, it was possible to present it in the form of a movie and a short summary of the episode. Unimportant events and not funny comedy, the story was a bit complicated, but they havedifficulties in coordinating the comedy and the seriousness of the events was very confusing, I expected, but I enjoyed it anyway, the pace of events is very slow. But the individual elements of the story were executed rather tolerably, the comedy is poor and long, the dialogue exaggerated and the drama not sad, the end of this season was probably due to the budget (I guess all you said was the definition of Gintama anime). Gintama anime has a realistic style and plain art. In some special and unique scenes in my heart besides the works of Studio Ghibli. The trend was normal and sometimes bad. This artistic style is not suitable for storytelling, but the studio saves money and effort. Additionally, the use of CGI in some backgrounds does not blend well. Noting the rest of the cartoons, a change in quality was previously reported during the series due to budget. The voice actors are very good from the beginning of the series until now, their level is still excellent, the music used in the backgrounds is not bad, but the development in it is not a bad idea, and every OST for this anime is very, very. Great (so much that I found myself listening to the song after I finished watching) As for the characters, they have not developed and are still identical, and each character is characterized by its flaws and its interaction with events in a realistic and exaggerated manner. Some of the characters grew during the series which made me very happy. The opponents had very sad motives and backgrounds, making them accept their actions. For his part, minor and insignificant characters play a major role and are greatly influenced by the events of the story. If you want to watch this season without worrying about flaws, you will definitely enjoy it. In the end, I will rate this work 7/10

The stakes may have gone slightly out of proportion. As in, in a good way. Gintama's magic is actually quite something, despite the switch in mood orchestrated by the Shogun Assassination arc, all the episodes of comedy and somewhat serious episodes have conditioned me into not caring as much about the sheer stupidity of some of the things happening. So, this Silver Soul Arc takes the story back from where it was left off at the end of season 5 with a universal scale guerilla war with the Kabuki district serving as an Earth stronghold with everyone and their mother joining in the battle. More irrelevantmid bosses and Utsuro barely having an impact. Despite all of that, it's still fairly entertaining. As a half-arc, it doesn't put forward any character progression, instead showing off the non-progression of all the characters who were cut away in the farewell Shinsengumi arc. This half-arc doesn't have a lot of character progression, if any at all. If anything, this is even more build up to something big. Or at least I hope so, K wouldn't want to waste more time.

Gintama.: Shirogane no Tamashii-hen Gintama: Silver Soul Arc I already had huge doubts about the Rakuyou arc, but here they outdid themselves. Everything negative that Gintama could have ever done was present in just one season. The plot comes to a head, the final season of Gintama was split into two halves. After these two, only the final movie comes and that's it, the story finds its end. And yet, this season felt like half an eternity to me. 50% of the time the characters are just running and throwing meaningless dialogues around. The rest of the time extremely drawn-out fights with deadly slow pacing. - This similarproblem exists in One Piece, but here the slow pacing has practically surpassed Teo Animation. In addition, the fights were monotonous, boring, and frankly not even meaningful, yet they took up the entire season. [Story 3] After Utsuro finally revealed his plan and plunged Earth (or Japan, since the rest of the world doesn't exist in Gintama) into a state of chaos. Began an endless string of battles, against cannon fodder opponents that were just a waste of time. [Characters 4] Here you can see once again what the characters are once you remove most of their traits. Gintoki becomes an overdramatized philosopher. Kagura just looks angry and Shinpachi screams (well that he almost always did). And this is all you see of them. Yes, there is a war going on. But the characters practically dissolve like sherbet as soon as the plot seems serious. Then they become immensely one-dimensional and flat. Only Hasegawa and the new Shogun were convincing this season. Through their personality and development. [Music 5] The intro is mostly average, the music can't convince like most of the other Gintama intros. The outro was about on the same level. The Osts have been enjoyable as always, but couldn't make up for the plummeting quality of this season. Also, most of the iconic posts were missing. [Animation 4] The animations have been quite barely average. The intro had been better animated than this season. Add to that the deadly slow pacing and non-existent dynamics, the fights felt like they were empty. Conclusion It was necessary to watch this season, but it broke my heart. I already suspected this, but I had hoped that the anime would still maintain its quality. I still kind of liked this season, it's still Gintama after all. But as for the quality, no just no. [Enjoyment 6]

“Unless you come back alive, I won’t forgive you. Come back here, accompany me to [his] grave and report to him that we protected Edo. If you don’t… I’ll never forgive you!” - Soyo, Episode 353 (Gintama.: Shirogane no Tamashii-hen 12) This series is a little bit like fan service but in a good way. It feels earned as we watch characters begin to fight for their home with the returning faces working well in the plot. Their motivations line up with what we know about them, and no one feels like they are out of character, which is an impressive feat when considering the sheer amountof people returning to join the fray. Thanks to Gintama’s structure as a whole, the character interactions feel genuine; even when characters who have barely interacted previously work together, it feels natural. It highlights how well rounded they are as individuals, with the audience understanding them so well after only a few episodes. And even in the more serious moments, Gintama’s humour shines through; the self-deprecating humour and parodies keep the audience, and characters, grounded. There are so many ridiculous moments that really tie the story together without dampening the more tense scenes. The biggest issue is probably the animation; utilising a couple of tactics that would have been at home in the earlier Gintama series, but they don’t distract too much from the story. Some may find the sentimentality a bit sickly, but Gintama isn't an anime that focuses solely on action scenes so expecting it to put the fights first all the time is unfair and not true to its soul. Gintama.: Shirogane no Tamashii-hen will not be to everyone’s taste, and that’s fine; especially since the line between seriousness and ridiculousness is non-existent towards the end. I find this to be what Gintama’s early arcs prepare audiences for, so those who skip the comedy arcs will probably be more put-off by the extreme tonal shifts. Overall though, this is a great set-up for the remainder of the Silver Soul Arc and definitely builds up the hype for what is to come.

I was sort of modest with my rating of this season because I really did enjoy it, but it was a little bit slow so I hedged and went with a nine. I don't really wanna spend too much time on this season's review because it was sort of just a battle more than anything else. What it did well was bringing back old characters to the scene that haven't been used much or seen in a while to make this season feel like it was all of Edo fighting for their planet; I liked that a lot. This season also did well to showthat Gintoki doesn't always have to be at the center of every battle. Most shounen (which isn't what Gintama is entirely, but the main story definitely is) puts a heavy focus on the main character and their strength, but I like seeing through this season that Kabukicho is a central character and Yorozuya is a central character--that Gintoki doesn't always have to bear the plot for it to work. Again, this season was just one battle pretty much with interludes of stuff happening in space that I can't get too far into without spoiling it. So, had I watched this when it released, it probably would've felt drawn out. Since I watched it all back-to-back, though it felt like an easy watch. This season was more lighthearted than the previous main story arcs. There weren't any super heavy tones throughout the entirety of the season, and I saw a lot more comedy in this first half of the Silver Soul Arc than I have in any other main story arc. In other words, if you come to Gintama for comedy rather than story, this season of main story will probably still satisfy you. That being said, there were still some really cool moments. Not dark or heavy moments, but moments of electricity or warmth that gave depth to the overall tone of the season. Two big reentrances of characters happened in this season, and both were *awesome*. In short, this season wasn't as heavy-handed as what you might be used to with main story arcs, but the fact that it still rung true in pure Gintama fashion through comedy-laced action made the slower pace feel welcoming and homey. However, it's about to get real, so excuse me while I watch the last season of Gintama. I fully expect to be annoyed that I have to wait for the last movie.

(This review applies to the entire Gintama series.) What is Gintama about? Well, according to Gin-san: "We don't even know". But for me, Gintama is a great filler with some anime bows tucked in the middle of genius shapes. Gintama tells a story about Japan at a time when it was dominated by alien forces, the plot focuses on our four protagonists: Gintoki, Shinpachi, Kagura and Sadaharu. Now speaking of the anime, Gintama is very good indeed, all the characters have a different charisma, from their personalities to their beliefs, like our revolutionary Zura, oh my mistake, "Zura janai, Katsura da.", Dear Hasegawa-san (Madao), the whole shinsegumifrom Kondo-san (gorilla), Hijikata-san (mayonnaise) Okita-kun (sadist), among others. Seriously, there are soooo many characters, which turns out to be a problem too, as it's impossible to always show them all, so there are times when they just disappear for several episodes and yet more characters still appear, there are a few moments when that happens. makes it nauseating, but Gintama's universe is undoubtedly incredible, with the advent of aliens it is easy to put up with many different situations ranging from comedy (like all scenes in which Baka, I say, Hata Ouji appears) to dramas (Like Prejudice that exists between the amantos and humans), this is something strong in Gintama, is a shounen that has comedy as its essence, but knows how to create various heavy and sad situations, an example of this are the side storys of the villains, there are some that in fact they made me water. Apart from all these points, the songs, the soundtracks are wonderful, they fit the scenes very well and the amount they use is amazing (if you have the time looking for some playlist to hear some). And it's amazing how the stories fit together. But undoubtedly, the characters are the most captivating things in the works, you may end up not liking one or the other, but it is impossible not to like at least one of them. Even such "villains" have their story very well developed, which makes you even more fond of Gintama, creating a special affection for this great "void of anime" and full of feelings. Not all episodes will make you laugh, or make you cry, but some of them will touch you, I'm sure, and don't underestimate Gintama because he wants to take everything in comedy, it's the author's way of showing that you should laugh even at times that seem impossible. Speaking of Gorilla (not Kondo), I find it impressive how he can mess with those who watch his work, but undeniable the clear improvement of the adaptation, the studio and director managed to give a unique air with all those 4th wall breaks. Perhaps the only 'problem' in Gintama for us (from the west) is the various references to the culture there, such as the structure of their language or actors, comedians and the sennyu themselves (voice actors). Which makes some episodes extremely boring unless you really understand. I also think that not all ages can really appreciate Gintama, I remember I started watching when I was 10 ~ 11 and found it extremely, because I was a shounen without those screaming powers stuff or a protagonist who was really “badass” but Today, with my 19 years, I can enjoy much more. But I don't want to talk about it, so give Gintama a try, it's an amazing anime that has a lot to show you, both in history, in comedy, and of course in characters.

The final arcs keep rolling along! Let's see... of course the story is more gripping now than ever before. We are finally seeing some questions from way back in season 1 really being fleshed out and answered. The world (especially Edo) is in more trouble than ever before. Etc. Etc. The Art will forever be a sticking point with me. I never liked the Sunrise style so much but once they switched I was kinda sad, you know? The new style has its own merit but at worst there can be times when characters just look downright deformed. Sound is as usual. Not much of noteespecially since they are still using most of the same songs they have always used. Op and Ed are good. Hmm... Characters from way back in the series come out of the woodwork in this season, over and over and over again. Much like the sound, they can both be great if you already loved them. You don't? Why are you still watching then?! Enjoyment is what makes Gintama great. Of course it is still toilet humor and of course they still hammer in jokes where you expect a serious moment. And then they will suddenly have a lot of serious moments that are NOT jokes. Until they are again. Isn't that how life is? Maybe that's why I still love Gintama. Overall: this will be a turning point for many fans because Gintama will be judged forever based on how it decides to end. What will it deem important? What is going to be the final message, if any? Will it be like Hitman Reborn and have a really awesome and serious final season that still somehow leaves you feeling slightly unsatisfied? You end up thinking "Hmm maybe I need to read the manga to see the REAL ending". Only you read it just to wonder why this was not how the anime ended? Or why they didnt adapt the last couple arcs that continued past where the show ended? *Cough cough* TrigunBleachElfenLiedGantzSoulEater* cough. No. Gintama does not abandon the premise like certain shows do. There is still a great balance that just keep me watching it like no other show really does. Believe it! Wait..

This anime accelerated right as the shogun assassination arc started. Boy, it has been a journey and each episode was a joy to watch. Gintama's comedy and humour is overtaken by the more serious silver soul arc, but that is fine with me- it's still filled with its fair share of touching moments and well-animated fight scenes. Don't mind the review at the top- Karhu, as usual, leaves steaming piles of shit wherever he goes. Gintama will always be my favourite long-ish anime (with more than 440 episodes), and it has the right balance of strength between "main characters", heart wrenching scenes and a prettynice plot twist. I thank Sorachi for writing this amazing story, and the studio for not letting us down with the animation. The sound track and recent openings however, are lack luster and in my opinion, do not fit the current arc. OP 10's dramatic feels would have suited this arc infinitely better.

Reading the other reviews posted here, and guessing that people watching this have already watched all previous seasons of Gintama; this will be a short review pointing out the worst things of this season. Since the end of Gintama: Enchousen, every season of Gintama that has been released has had less quality than the previous one; reaching a point where It has lost its former essence and gets painful to keep watching. The reasons of why this season is the worst and kills the anime, are these: 1 - Almost all the characters that have appeared in the series (even side characters from 2 or 4 episodesof 350) make cameos and participate in the action, and everyone says a motivational speech a couple of times while fighting. It happened the same in the arc of Shogun's death, every character gives a speech with sentimental background music; it ruins the mood and gets annoying. 2 - Everyone is overpowerd for the sake of plot twists. 3 - There are a lot of flashbacks, some last half an episode. 4 - Gintoki lost his personality somewhere in the series, and now he is just a guy who yells at people, vomits at people, and tramples hordes of enemies. He was a young adult with financial problems, drinking problems, gambling problems, diabetes, who cared more for sugar or taking a nap than getting involved with women. Now he has become someone who goes around doing barely nothing. In my opinion Gintama should have stayed as a full comedy series with ocasional half comedy half serious arcs, and have an open ending; this is just a bad shonen. In conclusion, I give this series a 6; but I recommend you to watch this. Why?, because you are going to watch it anyway; and is a good way of learning how to kill a good show.

I might not be a fan of Gintama, but I would be lying if I said that this season wasn't pretty damn good. This first part of the Silver Soul arc has been a big improvement in both the serious parts and especially the comedic ones. Excluding some parts that were the standard "too gross for my preference" of Gintama, I found myself laughing a lot nearly each episode, all while also delivering impactful and badass scenes nearly at the same time, the switch from comedy to serious back to comedy worked so well, and the pacing of this season was very good. This season brings backA LOT of characters, and god it was great, seeing all those recognizable faces appearing and getting some awesome scenes was so nice, 350~ episodes already passed since the start of the series and that could be seen here with all the different characters Gintoki and friends interacted with appearing. In terms of animation, this season was quite heavy on action and while I would say that it held up fine enough, the quality definitely dropped in some fights and was noticeable. The music is basically what we have been hearing for so long and it's good, and then there are the fantastic opening and ending themes of this season “Katte ni My Soul” and “Hanaichi Monme”, which are easily two of my favorites from the series, especially the second due to also having beautiful visuals to go together with another nice song from the band Burnout Syndromes. The series is getting closer and closer to the end and from my point of view this season was one big step up for the series. If you're a fan of Gintama, well, just keep watching as you should! If not and instead you're a fellow masochist, be optimistic because this season was awesome and you're most likely going to have a nice time as I did.

Well, it’s the beginning of the end. The real end, the one we never expected after all the hoaxes and fakes but knew nonetheless would have to come eventually. 12 episodes of pure awesomeness. You can tell that watching all 350+ episodes has really paid off when even the appearance of minor characters is enough to make you smile or shout joyfully at the screen. (Or groan loudly as you hope that this is the arc they’ll finally be killed off.) Gintama seems determined to bring back every single character who’s ever been featured. You’ll see people who you’ve almost completely forgotten about back to helpsave Edo, make dramatic speeches about friendship, discover Elizabeth’s real identity (…again), and get more screen-time while they’re at it! (but they don’t waste flashbacks on the minor characters, don’t worry 😉) It has a more serious undertone than the slip arc, but not quite the same level as the Shogun assassination and farewell Shinsengumi arcs. There’s this whole ‘the entire universe is against us and we literally have no hope of winning but let’s try anyway’ emotional and touching tone, and then there’s the ‘here’s an entire episode based around a poop joke’ type of humour. (Which, by the way, was brilliantly executed and downright hilarious.) The level of contrast is one of the most famous things about Gintama. It’s probably the reason you loved Gintama in the first place, and the reason you’ve stuck with it so long. Fair warning though: The baka prince episode was painful to watch, even by Gintama standards. Far too many *antenna* jokes that although would normally be funny just seemed immature this time. It’s almost like an extension of the Excalibur arc - but then again, it’s only one episode. I wouldn’t skip it or anything, just…prepare your mind. The op is good (as most of them are), but it’s the ending you really need to watch this time. It’s basically a montage of all the brightest and saddest moments throughout the anime, a tribute to all those who were with us at the beginning and didn’t make it this far. Plus the song is awesome. It really gives a ‘final arc’ feel. I am looking forward to the conclusion, and really excited to see everything come to a climax, but at the same time…I don’t want it to be over. At least we have part 2 before that fateful moment. XD P.S. Unless this does end up being another troll after all. Who ever really knows with Sorachi?

Gintama is an anime franchise with several seasons end more of 350 episodes. This season follow the events Shogun Assassination Arc, Farewell, Shinsengumi Arc and Rakuyou Decisive Battle Arc, adapting the Silver Soul Arc. Silver Soul is Gintama arc. The representation that what Gintama is. This seasons shows your goal since the first episode: The blend of comedy and action that represents Gintama. And this is the strong point of this season! Story: 10/10 This arc follow Utsuro plot, adding some facts extras that make a more complex development of the events of the war. Enshou wants to destroy the earth because your fury. Utsuro want to destroyhe and all, because he is sick of living, but at the same time is sick of human existence. And our protagonists want protect what they love, those they love and the place they love. Art: 8/10 Better than last two seasons, this seasons animation has some problems, but this doesn't change the fact that most of the time the animation is good. The art is more consistent and fights was very good. Sound: 10/10 Nothing to complain about. This season has the same OST of past seasons. Great. Character: 10/10 Several old characters return in this season, this fact creates a nostalgic feeling. Many characters has a great development, as Hata, Elizabeth, Gintoki, Tama, Kintoki, Nobume and mainly NobuNobu, that is becoming increasingly a better character. Enjoyment: 10/10 Exciting, funny, epic. Simply great! Overall: 10/10 Gintama is my favorite show. This anime always shows that because is loved for several. Was a very funny season with great characters, good action and story. I hope the same in the Part 2.

I could say a lot about this franchise, but I'm just going to discuss about this season. Gintama.: Shirogane no Tamashii-hen adapts the first part of the Silver Soul arc, the end game of Gintama. So if you haven't watched anything related to Gintama yet, this season will not be for you. Story: 10 Silver Soul continues the story after the Rakuyou's Decisive Battle Arc (Gintama.). All the build-up done in the past it's now coming to it's climax, we see a lot of early plot elements and characters come back, and becoming relevant once again. This arc has a lot of action, sad and fun moments blended together withoutaltering the pacing or the story itself. It's great. Art: 8 The art has been mostly consisent, but there are some still frames that doesn't look so good. Nevertheless, the backgrounds and characters design look good. The animation is good, but not amazing. It's understandable though, since this arc is realy action-heavy. Sound: 10 There are some new tracks, but it mostly uses the good ol' soundtrack from past seasons, which is good. The opening 'Katte ni MY SOUL' and ending 'Hana Ichi Monme' are catchy, and blend well with the current mood of the series. Character: 10 Remember how I said the build-up was coming to it's climax in regard of the story? The characters are the best thing in the series, in Silver Soul, this is no exception. This arc features a lot of characters from past arcs and it's done in a really well and realistic way. All characters have their moment to shine, and this is incredibile rewarding for everyone that watched the series since the very beginning. Enjoyment: 10 Silver Soul continues using the formula of past seasons. There are new gags, while some older ones return. While sometimes the comedy may be a little "too japanized", it's still understandable. Overall: 10 This is arc is the most 'Gintamesque' arc of the series, and while it's not finished yet, the first part of Silver Soul is amazing for every fan that has watched the past seasons, and this is why I love it so damn much. I feel rewarded for watching the series since the beginning. Thanks for reading my review!

The Silver Soul arc brings an amazing blend of comedy and action, never seen before in Gintama. One moment your in a fight and the next you are laughing your ass off. Story - 10: This time around we are getting a space war, and it's really well written. I really like the politics this arc brings. Art - 8: Pretty good, but in a few episodes there are too much still frames. Sound - 10: As always amazing soundtrack and voice work!Character - 9: This season brings back a lot of characters from the previous seasons. A lot of unexpected characters too. Overall: Loved the season, there were sadly some pacing issues at the middle.
