The Seitokai Yakuindomo Movie. The fact that a franchise like this got in the big screen just goes to show dearly appreciated it is on its native Japan and the level of quality it would have to have displayed in order to harvest a fanbase like so. And you know what? I get why the Japanese public is so enamored by this series of titles to begin with. For all it has to offer Seitokai Yakuindomo is pretty damn good for the type of anime it strives to be. Seriously, just consider for a moment, how many borderline ecchi slice-of-life comedies such as Seitokai Yakuindomo are therethat never got their own movie? The market for these kind of series is crowded with similar series, and that Seitokai Yakuindomo got this kind of treatment speaks volumes over just how tall this anime stands above all its competitors on the industry. The movie on itself is pretty good, as the rest of the series is. As always Seitokai Yakuindomo manages to maintain a constant level of quality that surprises the audience with just how on-par that is, considering the series has run for over a decade now, at the moment of writing this review. First, I had some doubts on how or if the authors would manage to plaster the episode and non-consequential nature of this show on a movie format, and, you know what, they did a pretty damn good, all things considered. Seitokai Yakuindomo Movie ran for just over an hour, but it didn't felt that way, it was as if a was watching a long episode of the main anime and nothing more. I didn't get bored for even one minute. The first thing you will notice a significant increase in quality, both in the way that characters and backrounds are drawn and the introduction of a few new characters not present before in the series. Seriously, those are the only significant differences (plus the prolonged length) that this movie has from a regular episode. Seriously, it is that similar. You sorta have to watch this movie to understand what is going on the latter episodes on the OVA of the second season of Seitokai Yakuindomo. If you already liked the series, and are planning on watching it completely don't let the different format and the longer duration length dissuade you from watching this, it is very worth to do so. So worth, in fact, that you are gonna end-up wanting even more of this movie after it ends, lol.

The Seitokai Yakuindomo movie is a return to form for this magnificent series. The first season was amazing, the second season let me down, but this movie got my hyped back up. Almost everything about this entry was perfect. The only thing it lacked, in my opinion, was enough runtime to satisfy my SYD hunger. If you're like me, then you'll surely feel the same. The writing of the movie is the same as the show. While seemingly episodic, the SYD cinematic universe is slowly progressing, mostly by means of character development. The jokes were well done, but to me, the most impressive thing about thisentry was its unexpectedly high quality as a movie. The pacing was superb. For whatever reason, SYD* left me exhausted. somehow, it felt like that season dragged on forever. In the movie, the apparent pacing problems are gone- reduced to atoms! By the end, I was completely satisfied. Nothing felt rushed or dragged on. The director absolutely nailed it. The quality of the art and sound in this movie was unprecedented. The visual gags are still amazing, but the gags don't break the artstyle, and the artstyle is still as beautifully simple as always. The audio was taken up a couple notches, utilizing "5.1 surround sound", as they helpfully noted in the anime. They kept the OP in the movie, which was rather confusing given that this was meant to be played in theaters. This time, the OP was given proper, helpful animated subtitles, which helped an English-speaker like myself. "A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one". The characters were great. While their individual development is slow, they are progressing to a foreseeable end. As an adaptation of an ongoing slice-of-life manga, this movie doesn't reveal all of the author's cards in its runtime (although there is a post-credit scene that perhaps hints at something). The dynamics between the cast are still funny, even after my many hours of SYD consumption. Somehow, it feels like this show can never get old. 10/10. SYD is back, babyyyyyyyy!

It’s naughty, it’s raunchy, it’s punchline-heavy...Seitokai Yakuindomo is back, and now on the big screen. One thing someone has to get used to when reading or watching a gag series is that you can and shall never expect any sort of character progress. Each character serves as an archetype in this joking system, and what only matters is how different the punchline or the delivery of the joke is every time. In the style of comedy of a franchise like Seitokai Yakuindomo, one character can only deliver a sex joke one too many times—which is why this show has a wide range of characters with differentperks that make it entertaining no matter how predictable it gets. Don’t think of the movie as any large-scale side story or expansion to SYD. In fact, it’s safer to think of it as an extension of the Season 2 OVAs, as each segment is even titled according to the episode number order of the series. As such, gags are presented just like the show, which makes this a 2-episode special more than anything. You could have qualms or complaints on how the movie is still in its episodic format, but the truth is it’s not really as relevant to properly addressing the one criticism the film lacks over its predecessors. Characters, as mentioned, are driving forces of a gag-filled comedy like SYD. Without the diversity of its characters, it can get old pretty quick, and this is exactly what happens through the rest of the film. Screen times for the supporting characters beyond the student council breath new life into the past two seasons, and lessening their involvement in this film hampers the impact of what would’ve been a harmless fun time. There’s not enough Dejima, Uomi, Hata—all of these prominent characters lack enough involvement in the film, effectively limiting the variety of the film. While on technical standpoints both animation and sound get nice upgrades, to the point that there is a fourth-wall break about the nice surround sound the film has over the TV series, and the creativeness of visual comedy the film takes to assert its bigger budget, they’re sadly nothing to write home about, and even more does it lack the ability to boost enjoyment over the film’s inferior one-sided humor. Personally, even though I don’t consider SYD Movie as the worst experience I’ve had with the franchise, I also feel that it’s the weakest entry it has ever had. With a lack of comedic variety through its memorable characters, the film remains nothing more but a dump of lackluster sex jokes and a waste of fanservice potential.

Seitokai Yakuindomo for LA is the KING of Sexual Humour in Anime. Seitokai Yakuindomo Movie is the short of it a vignettes of the rapid fire sexual humor skits tied into an hour long episode and like LA said above, Seitokai Yakuindomo KNOWS how to do their sexual humor well and snappy at that. So because of the structure of Seitokai Yakuindomo's movie not having much plot besides some new characters being introduced proper (like Rika Koyama who was in the first season's OAD) as well as Shino and Tsuda's relationship tension brought up interspersed with the typical Seitokai Yakuindomo sex jokes. LA will at least sayhow Seitokai Yakuindomo's sex jokes works soo well (which also extends the anime series and OAD's as well...as LA didn't review the Seitokai Yakuindomo anime series here proper). Seitokai Yakuindomo's comedic timing are extremely quick, allowing you to sit on it not so long which makes you think of the quickest "worst situation" which with comedy largely surrounded on sex jokes or humour (be it visual or verbal), you'd think of it, only to either be right about the situation BUT the characters' reactions are GOLDEN that the timing just works out and with such great straight man characters in a bevy of snarky sex joking characters, you KNOW the reactions and comebacks are amazingly reacted at times. Seitokai Yakuindomo are also meta about their sexual humor and humor in general such as when straight man's meet up but the sex-riddled characters think of a double meaning to the situation and the like occurs frequently in the movie though it's typical of Seitokai Yakuindomo anyways. Seitokai Yakuindomo relies and works it's advantage with it's skit-based timing and amazingly witty delivered character reactions (which couldn't be possible without the amazing voice cast and their directions they've been given) to effectively use it's sex jokes and LA laughed ALOT in this movie giving us curveballs ever now and again. LA knows of the "don't explain the joke", but all things considered though Seitokai Yakuindomo uses the formula ALOT, it doesn't get stale and that by all accounts made LA give the title of "King of Sexual Humour in Anime" to Seitokai Yakuindomo an obvious choice because of this. Now as much as LA said that Seitokai Yakuindomo's movie has little to no plot, the characters does go through some kind of relationship tension mainly to our main straight man Tsuda with some relationship teasing moments like with Suzu and Aria however this concerns Shino the most and you could say that the sex jokes gets in the way of their relationship especially (though this is applied to EVERY girl Tsuda comes across that isn't the straight man to a joke) when Shino makes a sex joke breaking the tension BUT also Tsuda breaks those relationship flags due to him being the straight man and being dense ONLY in those kind of situations but LA still and does ship Shino and Tsuda either way and even though the movie didn't progress their relationship that much...uhhh LA thinks this is expected coming from Seitokai Yakuindomo who's more for comedy than romance. THIS IS Seitokai Yakuindomo after all. As for Rika Koyama being properly introduced well she gets introduced giving us a bit of backstory to Shino in her elementary years but other than that she gets mentioned a bit with a bit of screentime. In terms of animation by Production GoHands, well LA can easily say that the animation is like a less toned down Hand Shakers with it's backgrounding work though LA did see their experimental side from a few scenes (like the beginning with the d***o drone perspective one shot take). LA will at least say that the animation is the same as the second season and it's OAD's animation level with Production GoHands' "experimental" touches retrained for this movie. The character designs are the typical standard from the anime series with Suzu's "she's here" signs being more inventive. Really with Production GoHand's restrained experimental animation and the typical animation from it's character designs, the animation was tolerable thus have some really good backgrounding work to it and it's like the second season of Seitokai Yakuindomo in many ways in terms of it's animation. Now voice acting, well we have all the reprising voice actors from the anime series back, with some great voice actors like the straight man Shinataro Asanuma, Sayuri Yahagi and Sumire Uesaka doing great with their retorts (as Tsuda, Suzu and Mori respectively). On the other side, we have the sex-riddled joking characters like Shino, Aria, Ranko, Sayaka, Nene, Yokoshima-sensei and Kotomi delivering the jokes left-handed or out of nowhere (respectively Yoko Hikasa, Satomi Sato, Satomi Arai, Mutsumi Tamura, Hekiru Shiina, Yuu Kobayashi and Asami Shimoda), really if you know what LA said about Seitokai Yakuindomo's perfect timing and reactions then YES, the entire voice cast is amazing. Seitokai Yakuindomo's movie is EXACTLY what you come to expect from Seitokai Yakuindomo, pure sex jokes and amazingly delivered retorts and reactions and all and with Seitokai Yakuindomo getting more OAD's that is most definitely welcomed. For LA, Seitokai Yakuindomo is not only the King of Sexual Humor in Anime, LA also thinks this is Production GoHands' best flagship anime series, like no kidding LA really does think this. Seitokai Yakuindomo is COMEDY GOLD and with LA laughing ALOT in this movie, this movie did it's job and delivered it in spades and then some! Do you know what cherry blossoms symbolize?, I've never heard, Tell us Shino-chan. A good education, nobility, and purity! Most awesome legendary days!

The story is usually full of funny moment. I laughed while covered up my mouth in the midnight while parent are sleeping. The art is also usually impressive. Art took 3D visual that look like in reality. The art didntt take the scene from our reality world. That's really amazing. Sound is great. Tsuda Takatoshi said this anime had 5.1 Sound Surround in it. A little bit disappointed of a part after the credit where Amakusa Shino whispered something to Tsuda Takatoshi, although we can guess it either their usually dirty jokes or some kind od confession etc. Looking forward for the 3rd Season.

If you watched the others you know what you're getting, the same dirty jokes from the same old characters (a few new characters). The Movie kept had everything you expect from SYD Misunderstandings, retorts, school rules, Aria trivia, and Suzu being too short to have her face in the scene. The story was all over the place just like the anime so one minute they're on a beach and the next they're at school before jumping back to the beach trip. You'll either like it or you won't but it isn't confusing. The animation and art was amazing with shifting camera angles and bright colorsthat pop out nicely you can tell there was a bigger budget than season 2. I did notice that Suzu Hagimura didn't have much screen time as usual which is funny because she was there but too short to be seen. Overall it was pretty great to watch all the characters say dumb stuff again and hopefully it leads to a season 3. Story - 8 - Art - 10 - Sound - 10 - Character - 10 - Enjoyment - 9 - OVERALL SCORE - 9/10 -
