Synopsis
The light-hearted Working!! franchise comes to a close in this final episode of the concluding season. Will Aoi Yamada get the closure she so desperately needs with her distant mother? Will the relationship between Yachiyo Todoroki and Jun Satou continue to remain stagnant and awkward? Perhaps even Souta Takanashi and Mahiru Inami will take a step forward in deepening their eccentric friendship. And in the end, Wagnaria Restaurant might finally get a new chief! Beautifully connected, all these events intertwine to give these characters a final ending to their stories. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

Working!! the anime and manga series isn't going to be everyone's cup of tea, but if you've made it this far then you should already know whether you like it or not. I'd never seriously recommend anyone who's watched the previous three seasons to skip this one since it resolves lingering plot threads from season three and puts a nice little cap on the series as a whole. This review is for people like me who see the stellar reviews for this special on this site and assume it has to be one of the greatest series finales of all time. That's not to say thatWorking!!! Lord of the Takanashi is necessarily bad. It's just okay. If I had to boil my feelings down to a single complaint, it's that this finale doesn't feel worthy of a hour long special. Some of that is from a pure storytelling perspective, since several of the longest ongoing story arcs have been resolved by this point, but unfortunately a lot of it comes from the production itself. This finale doesn't have any especially good animation, cinematography, directorial choices, or really anything to make it stand out from any other episode of the show. Even the music feels like it's doing everything it possibly can to undercut any possible emotion you could be feeling throughout. This is especially disappointing since the three seasons prior to this were actually very smart about accentuating the few moments they wanted you to take seriously without deviating from the style. Overall, it leaves this finale feeling rushed, tonally inconsistent, and overall not very satisfying. I think there was a lot of potential here to make this finale special, but unfortunately it completely misses the mark. It makes me wonder if the decision to make this an hour long special was made from a practical standpoint rather than a creative one, like they had fifteen episodes worth of manga to adapt and were only allowed thirteen per season. In the end it ends up being just an okay final episode that's supported almost entirely by the quality of the other seasons. If you've loved the previous three seasons, then obviously you should watch this. If you thought they were meh or you dropped the series at some point, this finale won't do a single thing to change your mind. 3/5 finale for a 4/5 (sometimes even 5/5) anime.

Normally I start my reviews with some long metaphorical contextualization but for the purposes of this I will jump right into it. As a series, I never expected to enjoy Working!! However, right after the second episode of the first season I was hooked. Here we had very 2D characters that were actually interesting to watch. Having your lead male have an obsession for anything small like puppies and kids in a very wholesome but non creepy way is a great touch as many of us (myself included) have personalities like this that are hard to explain without sounding like a creep. Then you have your shortgirl, your ditsy girl, your girl that won't stop eating, your sociopath, your bad boy that's actually a nice boy, and of course...the girl who has an extreme fear of men to the point that she attacks them if they get close to her. And they all work together. It doesn't sound like a story that can survive for three seasons and a final hour long episode. And yet it does. The two romance plot points are mapped out wonderfully, allowing us to see why these characters fall for each other and feel validated as they do. One of the main couples don't seem to work at all at first glance, but it's the experiences that they had together throughout the series that capitulates the realism and allows the slow burn to feel more natural. This final episode was a perfect finale to a wonderful series that I plan on revisiting someday. Working!!: 8/10 Working'!!: 8.8/10 Working!!!: 9.1/10 Working!!! Lord of the Takanashi: 9.9/10 Working series: 8.7/10

Working!!!: Lord of the Takanashi (2016) Not very often is it that you get a show that really and truly ends in such a nice wholesome way. Of course, it depends on the genre if this is appropriate. I must say I absolutely loved this show and this is the best way it could have ended. The show has gone above and beyond. The artwork the same as the previous part of this season which is a great standard and shall stand long into the future in great quality. The soundtrack is superb, especially since at the end we get the season 1 OP which ismy absolute favourite and so beyond fitting. As with many of the happenings in the other part of the finale, the season gets some emotional climax that the actors portrayed superbly. Characters are rounded off to a close in a way that if real you know they continue their journeys. You also get some realism with lines along with the likes of hoping these part-time relationships (work not love) will last as long as possible. I love the realism that you have a character that leaves to do other things as you know from the other part of this season. It is truly great to have had a pretty funny and yet heartwarming ending. The show will go down as one of my favourites and I will genuinely miss it. This is an example of a show that I can see and understand why it was fully adapted. I am glad to have seen this show before venturing further into this world of Anime. Hopefully the WWW.Working!! will give the same vibes although I fear that the progression being crushed into a single season may not be so great, we shall see of course and judge it separately. This ends on a high 10/10. I could rate it much higher since the show is worth every second of the viewing time. Maya Matsumoto is still my best girl and I love the picture they took of the staff that you see get taken at the end of the other part of the season shown here.

I don't think I quite knew how much I loved this series until I finished it. This is gonna be a short one to tell you guys how wonderful this final episode was. So, this episode will simply wrap up everything that we've seen so far. There were a few unanswered questions at the end of the third season, and this hour-long special answered all of them. It had an interesting and silly way to tell part of the story that I really liked, and it made it feel somewhat like a grand adventure. The rest of the episode was just good, heartwarming fun. The charactersdeveloped even more in this episode in a couple of ways. I was glad to see certain characters being true to their feelings, even beyond the main two characters; so, even in an extra episode like this, there's still changes happening. I'm really glad I watched this series. It was rough going at first with the lack of character progression and storytelling, but by the end I was completely in love with these characters and everything surrounding them. It made me really happy. Please do give this anime a go if you haven't yet. It'll surprise you.

The Working!! series ended so perfectly with this episode. It wrapped up any loose ends that may have been left out in a way that is both satisfying and "nostalgia-invoking?". Watching this episode will, without a doubt make the viewer reminisce and think back on the past 3 seasons and how far each character has grown (whether in height or as a person). If you've watched the Working!! series up till season 3, not watching this would be straight out foolish (haha). The episode bids a final farewell to staff of Wagnaria, which although leaves a certain emptiness in my heart, makes me (for alack of better words) happy to have stumbled upon this gem of a franchise.

With this episode, Wagnaria is officially over, unless you count the spinoff. Story: This episode ties together everything regarding Takanashi and Inami's relationships. Its initial story seems weird, and that teaser from the 13th episode doesn't help either, but the pacing of this episode allows for everything to close out on the right foot. The only thing that may strike as awkward is the fact that although a special, it's necessary to watch in order to get a conclusion with the story. But even with that, it's obvious that you'd watch this episode anyway, so it's not that bad. Art: It's the same as the 3rd season,so no change there. See my review on the third season for my opinion on it. Sound: Same standard stuff, but the first opening comes back for the ending, which I felt ended the show even better than if they used the regular season 3 ending song. Character: Everyone in this episode seems to change just a slight bit. Inami changes the most, however, due to this episode being centered on her. I won't talk about the plot, but I will say that the changes that occur to the characters due to this special are ones that I like. Enjoyment: This special was an enjoyable last episode for me. Everything was finished, wrapped up, and packaged with a bow. All conflicts had been resolved, and all future questions all disappear with this episode. Even Todoroki gives an explanation for her predicament, effectively finishing out that conflict. Overall: Not much else to say here, so I'll make it brief. This special was a great way to end the show. Although the plot could have been condensed into the regular 23ish minutes, they made it 49. That extra time gave me even more time to watch what is now one of my favourite series, so I enjoyed this very much. To wrap up this review, overall, this special was a fitting conclusion to a great anime.

Chances are if you're reading this review or watching this special episode of Working!, you've already seen the first 3 seasons. If you haven't, I'd recommend you go do that first. Now that that's out of the way, there's actually not a whole lot to say - it makes me happy to say that this special is everything a Working! fan could have possibly hoped for in the context of an ending. How many SoL shows have broken fans hearts by constantly teasing us with closure but never letting it happen? "Lord of the Takanashi" spoils the loyal viewers by shattering every SoL trope a wearyfan of the genre has come to expect, and it does it in a uniquely hilarious fashion only Working! can deliver. Pretty much every story arc of Working! comes to an acceptable end here. It is a bit heartbreaking in a sense because this is the last piece of Working! animation we will ever get - but it's also extremely satisfying and fun to watch. You'll laugh, you'll blush, you might even shed a tear. Please don't hesitate to watch this if you are a fan - it's hard to imagine you'd be disappointed in this if you've come this far in the Working! franchise.

Meeting new characters, seeing them grow, and having fun with them. Being there- being part of everyone's adventure at Wagnaria is an adventure itself. Everything has been memorable and precious. I don't know how to explain this sensation in my heart, but I'm overflowing with joy. The finalie was so fulfilling and satisfying; it was perfect. The only way to end such a wonderful show. This feeling that Working!! has given me will keep me warm for a long time to come. "Thank you! Please come again." *This is the review of Working!! as a series, and not just this episode in particular* The story was light, but also hasdepth. It had the right mix of elements- making great use of a family restaurant setting to bring about its slice of life and comedy, and the skillful portrayal of characters and their growth bore tension and romance.

So this is really the cherry on top of the first three seasons. The main reason this episode came out was to wrap up everything that was left hanging at the end of the third season; Takanashi's mother and Inami's feelings and Taneshima becoming the next chief. Story 9/10: This episode really doesn't deviate too much from the aura that the first three seasons had. It wasn't just some OVA episode that had nothing to do with the main story, in fact, this is essential to finishing up the story. It's ambience doesn't change much except for some small heartwarming scenes and the addition of Takanshi'smother. Art 7/10: Nothing too special except for some of the crying scenes or reaction scenes. Sound 5/10: They really reused a bunch of ost that have already been placed and it feels nostalgic actually if you've been following the Wagnaria!! series since it was released, but I can't give it a higher rating under good conscience. Character 10/10: This is where the show truly shines. Every character has their own personality and their own way of creating humorous scenes. No character truly ever gets the short end of the stick, you get a good handful of their personality and that is what makes this show great. There is a large amount of character development as well. Enjoyment 10/10: The majority of the comedy this show brings is like the rest of the three seasons; slapstick comedy and comedy based on misunderstandings. But, that's not to say it wasn't good. For a 50 minute episode, it was awesome. Overall 9/10: If you watched the first three seasons, there is no reason to not watch this. It wraps everything up very satisfyingly and the ending to this episode is very heart warming.

(SPOILER FREE) (: I'll honestly admit wholeheartedly that I teared up to point of almost crying towards the end of this special. Not because it was sad, hell no. But ever since I started this series, it seriously felt like I have made friends whom have fun together, play together, and tease each other over the most simplest matters. This, in my opinion, was a fantastic way to end off the series by using all the development that was built up by the past three seasons. For my personal thoughts on the special, Working!!(!) did a great job on conveying the feelings andpersonalities of each character in the series, and that is seen especially within this special. Each character had their spotlight to highlight what they are known for without using up too much or too little with the time that was given. Some gripe I had watching this on the other hand is that the main "plot" did not actually start until a little bit before the midway point. What led up to it was your classic and love able slice of life comedy that the series has always showed. This is not much of a problem per ce because it did a good job setting up the final push of a certain couple (and mind you, that Scott Pilgrim gauntlet sequence was just gold). On a more critical tone, Working!!(!) Lord of the Takanashi did not much of a story in how it was presented. Throughout the 50 minutes of this airing on my screen, most of this consisted of comedy and random antics that the characters have done in the past three seasons. Looking at it from a different angle, this special could have just been done in a normal length episode instead of 50 minutes if it took the route of purely just wrapping up unfinished character x character tropes. But who am I kidding, there isn't much to complain about especially if you're a fan of this series. Like myself, I thoroughly enjoyed this special in almost all aspects. Story 7/10 (I explained earlier) Art 8/10 (Has the same charm as past seasons) Sound 9/10 (Timing of the music with the instrumentals of previous pieces just adds a wonderful cherry on top) Character 10/10 (They grow up just way to fast! buhuhuhu...) Enjoyment 9/10 Overall 8/10

This will be a short review void of any spoilers for the 3rd season of Working!! and its hour long finale. What a great end to the season of Working!!! and the series as a whole. Unlike most Slice of Life/Comedy anime, this season has a lot of closure, the characters grow up and mature a lot from the first season and all the side stories/teasing relationships you thought were just running gags all get fitting and nice resolutions to bring them to a close, with the finale bringing the main characters problems & relationship to a heart warming ending. To anybody who has enjoyed the previousseasons with all the different characters quirks and personalities and to anyone who enjoyed the funny little side stories that involved all these characters you will surely love this last season and its finale.

Note: Don't read review if you haven't watched previous seasons of Working!! due this containing info on the latest season! This concludes the Working!! series and I've gotta say, this episode ended the whole series so well and was able to leave everything on a surprisingly good note. As soon as you finish this episode, I can guarantee that you will be very reminiscent of all 3 seasons of Working!! and be glad you watched it. Throughout this one episode, it helps reflect and showcase what the Working!! cast has accomplished in season 3 such as: (SPOILER) - Aoi Yamada reconciling with her mother and brother, thus beingtogether with her real family - Yachiyo and Sato having to be able to start an official relationship - Inami losing her fear of men and prevents herself from punching them. - Popura gaining new responsibilities by being promoted to Chief of the Wagnaria! restaurant. Not only does this 49 min episode/special resolve Takanshi's problem with his mother which occurred in the previous season, but it also manages to have Takanashi and Inami's relationship grow as well. By the end, their odd friendship resulted into them loving each other and they become a couple. What makes this episode so great in my opinion is that it shows again what the Working!! cast have been through and how they're able to officially resolve problems that affected them in the past. Though the problematic situations they faced are unrealistic to a certain extent, how they all are able to overcome these challenges is what made me like it so much. It felt engaging and made you care more about the characters (even if you haven't before). The best thing about Working!! is that you begin to care more about the characters and love each quirk they have. They feel almost like family; and when they move on in life (like Yachiyo for example) you can't help but hope for the best for them despite them not being real people. I would have to say the only downside to this episode is how it had to be separate from the 3rd season. Because in actuality, this is supposed to be the last episode of that season. So if you decided to treat this as it's own individual episode (like an OVA) it wouldn't be right since this is continuing off right where season 3 ended. But overall, I would have to say this one of the best ways to end Working!! as a whole. I can't think of a better way to end the whole franchise. When I finished this episode, I couldn't help but feel this empty place in my heart to be honest. Sure I sound really sappy, but it makes the viewer remember what Working!! has done and completes the journey you've watched. And this episode does such a splendid job on ending the journey. (Thanks for reading my review! I know it may not seem that good. But I don't write reviews often so that's why it doesn't seem as professional compared to others. Those who read my review, I hoped you at least enjoyed it!)
