During the OVA of the second season of Seitokai Yakuindomo, Tsuda Takatoshi has learnt to master the art of sarcasm as the deal with the constant influx of sexual jokes the girls throw at his direction. Honestly, it was about time he did so, it was starting to become ridiculous after three and a half entries into the franchise. It must get tiring and repetitive hearing the same thing from me over and over again, but this franchise is expert on maintaining a decent level of quality no matter how much times passes by since its initial release. This stands as true for this OVAas it stands for the rest of the series. Here, you will find: the exact same goofy and raunchy comedy Seitokai Yakuindomo is famous for, the same eccentric and charismatic characters we all know and love by this point (plus a few new of them that were introduced in the movie), and the exact type of animation we have seen all through this franchise. If you fancied all of those listed above beforehand, you will no doubt enjoy this new entry into the Seitokai Yakuindomo series. It might not be special, it might not be subpar, but it is nice, and, aren't we all here watching anime just to have a nice time at the end of the day? :) Give it a try, it is worth it.

There once was a time when I enjoyed this kind of comedy, unfortunately, this OVA series dragged itself out for so long that my tastes in comedy have long since changed. The whole series ran from May 16, 2014, to Sep 17, 2020. That's a long-ass time! These OVAs were apparently released as bonuses for manga releases and other such special events. This really was not ideal from an anime viewer perspective as I just kept putting it off until they finally finished the planned run. Let also clear the misunderstandings after the 6th episode is where the movie takes place and counts as the 20th and 21stepisode. The OVA's here continue the second season like the 1st season's OVA's did. The shorts are fine but if you did not like the first season I do not know why you are still here. Maybe like me, you have a pathological need to finish what you started. In which case I send my condolences as this is a mediocre comedy at best.

One would expect that after GoHands' much more impressive adaptation of Seitokai Yakuindomo's second season, the OVA will be ready to blow everything out the water. Right? Right? Wrong. Whatever significant change the second season brought upon the franchise is immediately watered down by how lackluster and forgettable SYD* OVA is, not only in terms of story but also in its production values. It's pretty surprising as well to see it be ranked higher than the second season itself, as the OVA shows nothing that poses anything groundbreaking for the franchise, not that it had sort of ability to begin with. So, aside from addressing immediately how inferiorthis OVA is in comparison to the second season's story, what are the good points that one can address from watching this? Save for the fact that it remains a good mix of anime-original content and faithful reliance on the manga, the only notable change is with its minor change in the character design. It might not be noticeable, but the characters' eyes are slightly wider, and will probably its current art style for future installments, basing from the SYD Movie trailer. Most of the episodes exist just to please fans of the manga to see these jokes get animated, but I honestly can't see how a setup to a sex joke with just a different punchline will be more effective. Animation took a small dip down, and gone are the CG indicators of Suzu's head or the over-the-top perspectives one might have seen from the second season's first episode. Although nothing remarkable, the OVA episodes seem to have settled in less motion mirroring that of the first season and its previous OVA. Animation was never a problem in SYD, but seeing it veer away from its predecessor's playful dynamics are kind of alienating. In terms of characters, Tsuda and Tsuda's harem itself remain a static cast which exist to give the sex-joke-of-the-week. I don't have to say at this point which character made it more enjoyable to me, as the humor in this OVA is at an all-time low, even when compared to its first season. We have a few good Uomi moments here and there, and an introduction of Eiryou's Student Council Vice President and straight man, but nothing comes across as superior than anything SYD has provided thus far. Again, if you hated SYD's first season from the beginning, you won't remain interested for its successors for long, yet I can't recommend this to fellow SYD followers either. The franchise is getting stale after 40 episodes of rinsing and repeating, and if the upcoming movie doesn't break this standard there's no saving this franchise from being a mediocre comedy.

After 2 seasons and the initial ova series, there isn't really anything that you should still be wondering about now. There also really isn't anything new to expect here either. There's no new story, art, animation, character development, etc. It's simply the great old Seitokai Yakuindomo that you've probably come to love by now, unless you're still watching a series you don't really care for that much. The only main point I can really make about this set of ovas is that they take place before Shino and Aria graduate. I'm just assuming that they are extra adventures that weren'tshown previously. Besides for that, there's nothing else to really mention. Side note: The somewhat stupid Tseuda and squid segment is gone except for like one last appearance; I'm thankful for that. I obviously enjoyed this or at least I should've if I'm still watching the series. If you've loved loved all the previous installments like I have, watch this last set of ovas and enjoy the comedy, characters, and such that you've come to love.

Oh Studio Go Hands, wtf were you guys thinking of making another OVA of "Seitokai Yakuindomo*", by taking a step backwards, instead of forwards? A question that I would like to ask, so: Storywise, no development on the plot, in fact the OVA itself took a step backwards, I mean, the toilet humor was still there, the naughty gags were still the usual, the green slap sticks haven't change, so it's just a mediocre (5) all the way. Art, mediocre 5, what do you expect? Some panty shots or fanservce, not in here, except the usual eye candy girl's school uniform. Sound, rating is the same asabove........it's the same seiyuus, dummies. also I have neither love or hate for the opening and closing theme. Character, also a 5.....and not even the addition of the other student council president, Uomi from Eiryou High School', makes any difference. Enjoyment, also a 5 , cu'z , watching this was more of a chore than and enjoyment, besides , what's there to enjoy, when there hasn't been any development, in any of the genre. Overall, Amakusa, Shino and Shichijou, Aria have already graduated in the last season, so for studio Go Hands to take a step backwards , instead of continuing from where the two have graduated would have given this OVA a new lease in it's enjoyment, somehow breaking the mediocre, also I kinda hate it that Studio Go Hand is going wishy washy on this anime, and now they're making an upcoming movie of this series, now, why do I have a feeling that they might change their minds again and opt for another sequel? Sheees , no more pls, the fact that they can go forward without the two makes this OVA as lame as a poor 3 in may book. Tong, tong, tong, prrt, prrt, prrt
