Synopsis
Nobita Nobi is an elementary student who hates studying, is bad at sports, and does everything half-heartedly. He is a pushover, unlucky, and fearful of many things. His personality makes him a failure in life, even affecting his progeny. This causes his great-great-grandchild, Sewashi, to take control of the situation. Sewashi travels back in time from the 22nd century to the 20th century to meet Nobita, who is shocked to see him appear out of his drawer alongside a blue robotic cat. The robotic cat calls himself Doraemon, who claims to have been pressured by Sewashi to assist Nobita, with their ultimate goal being to provide Nobita happiness. Frustrated after seeing Nobita's hopeless state, Doraemon decides to go back to the future. However, Sewashi activates a program within Doraemon that prevents him from doing so. Forced to stay, Doraemon helps Nobita using futuristic gadgets through his four-dimensional pocket—a bag containing anything inside it. Can Doraemon bring Nobita happiness and return to the future? Can’t tell enough how much I enjoyed this anime movie, and how much it brought me back so many good memories of my childhood. Something I always loved Doraemon for and which I luckily found again in this movie, was the usual representation of Japan life in the ‘80s and those typical nostalgic suburbs of Tokyo. And after all these years, this anime movie nicely managed to catch again all its original spirit, by making use of a more modern computer graphic compared to the original series, which I still found pleasant and well executed. When it comes to the story and characters of course, including its popular protagonist Nobita, it’s quite soft and more kid-oriented, with the main and clear purpose of being nothing but a great celebration of this widely beloved and historical Japanese mascot. All in all, I enjoyed this movie very much and I feel to recommend it to all Japan and Doraemon lovers! Cheers and thanks for reading me!

Stand by me is truly a masterpiece that deserves 10 points. I don't care if it's famous or well known. It's a childhood myth about friendship, which I appreciate for its vibrant, unique visuals and plot. It's really sad and meaningful, I cried a lot and wet a lot of tissues :). It makes me sad because Doraemon and Nobita's friendship is close but incomplete, but also satisfied because in the end Nobita Can also marry Shizuka. Shizuka is very suitable for Nobita because she is cute, mature and can replace Doraemon to take care of Nobita when Doraemon is no more.

I just finished this movie and honestly, it makes me feel bad. I adore Doraemon so much, I wanted to love this movie, but I didn't, at all. I'm gonna keep things short, let's start by the good things. Art and Sound are amazing, absolutely fantastic, the visual style is great, with amazing attention to detail. The characters stay true to the original source, which might be a good thing but, let's elaborate a little bit on this, later. Now let's go to the bad things: The story is awful. I've seen Doraemon since childhood but I don't remember the episodes in great detail, I take it that thisis composed of several episodes mashed together to make a movie, and some people think this is great but I personally didn't. The movie has to stand on its own two feet, so let's judge this as its own thing, and as its own thing, its so poorly developed. Nobita is irredeemably useless throughout the whole movie. Most of the problems are caused by him. Which, yeah, it's how the show is. But no, it doesn't work, here. Not when you have a string of him messing up all the way through. His motivation is so dull, too. He wants Shizuka to fall in love with him, and not to change as an individual. And when it is, he gives up at the slightest inconvenience. He NEVER wants to improve himself, despite knowing that he will only make Shizuka miserable if she chooses to stay with him. Even his future self hasn't changed much, and the only redeemable quality he's was given, was only exposed by Shizuka's dad's dialogue (The worst possible way, exposition). Then comes my main issue with the whole thing. The ending. Look, the *SPOILER WARNING* I'm doing here is only out of courtesy, because you could see this "twist" come from the first 10 minutes of the movie. But when Doraemon has to leave, there had been ZERO development to his friendship with Nobita. Up to that point he still didn't seem to even like him and they hadn't done anything substantial together. The snow scene was the perfect chance for them to work together and they DON'T DO IT. So yeah, The scene that should've hit my feelings hard, didn't do it. And I cry extremely easily. Not to mention they decided to undo it to force a happy ending. **END OF SPOILERS** Now, about the characters. I know that Nobita has always been like this in the series, I get it. But it doesn't work here. I think he should've actually made progress to better himself for real during the movie, and it doesn't really happen. Suneo, I don't mind. Shizuka is treated like a trophy. Takeshi is just the way he is in the anime, and it doesn't really matter too much. But yeah. The characters that should've been handled a bit differently, but without removing their essence, were kept completely unchanged. And, man. I wanted to love this. I love Doraemon so much, that I feel terrible for not liking this movie. But ultimately I don't. So, I painfully give it a 5. And that's only because it's Doraemon and because of the excellent visuals.

story: 3 the story is a little confusing, at various times the anime shifts the focus, one hour he was focusing on a novel and dps out of nowhere they go into the future, and it's not like something coherent, the film seems forced and broken, the German story weak, because it is very "childish" and has conveniences (like the fog scene), the story never focuses and tbm does not end the mini arches or what was happening, it's like if I had been going to the market to buy bread alone what house I would be working out, it makes no sense, it isvery weak, rushada and meaningless art: 6 anime art is beautiful, there’s not much to talk about, it’s cool, and it does its part well sound: 6 same thing, without much talk characters: 4 the characters are either cool, like Doraemon, or are randons, friends of nobita, or are nobita, he was being built so that out of nowhere he undoes all the writing work he was doing, the character was going somewhere and with a goal, the goal doesn’t change, but it kind of disappears or changes so much even though it’s the same thing, it’s hard to think how Doraemon did it, making a character that was being terrifying to a boring and totally empty guy, maybe it’s the disagreement that this anime took, or a writing problem, I don't know, but they discarded a character in so much, not that he is bad, but good is not fun: 2 the movie is so boring (for me) I had to stop it story: 3 art: 6 sound: 6 characters: 4 fun: 2 final grade: 5

This is my first review + english is not my native language so i'm sorry if my writing is bad from the perspective of a kid grew up in south east asia where doraemon was the definitive sunday morning cartoon on my childhood, this movie pulls way more feels than it should have. This movie is loosely based on the last unfinished volume that the author write before his death. So it serves as a perfect send off for the canon material also to the creator of the manga. The story was great, it's about how nobita that always rely on doraemon starts to grow andbecome a person of his own. seeing him finally grow "which never happened by the way, that was the joke of the whole story" was a very great sight to see. I recommended this movie especialy to everyone that grew up watching the anime or to anybody that interested to this kids series. it has great story, great characters, amazing 3D animation, and one of the most tear jerking ending i have ever seen in a kids enterteiment.

God, watching this movie was honestly painful to me. While I like the animation (Doraemon translates very well to 3D!), the story was... well, nothing special. It's your typical "Nobita, you are stupid so here I am to fix it, even though I have better things to do". And that wouldn't be bad if Nobita. Wasn't. So. Annyoing. Seriously. I couldn't enjoy this movie because Nobita acted like an idiot all the time. I know it's a part of his character, but please... there were so many stupid situations caused solely by Nobita that at some point I just... had to pause I really liked Doraemon asa kid - it was a breath of fresh air, because there's basically no anime in Poland. And so, I had high expectations for this film It turned out to be just okay. I liked the second half of the film, so it's something I guess

Stand By Me Doraemon is one of the best Doraemon movies, one of the best anime movies I've seen, and easily the best CGI reboot of a franchise I've ever seen. When this film was first announced, I was skeptical when I saw that it was in a CG animation style. I was not sure how the human characters would look, or how the manga style would be adapted into 3D. Thankfully, the artists did an amazing job at not only representing the characters well, but the crazy expressions from the manga. The designs are still simplistic, but just slightly touched up and not overly realisticto the point of looking creepy. The voice actors all give an amazing performance and capture the spirit of the characters perfectly. The story basically centers around Nobita Nobi wondering what his future would be like, and the possibility of Doraemon leaving. I like that in the future segments, we don't just see what Nobita's life will be like, but also the secondary characters as well. It's nice when a story is written to focus on one particular character, but doesn't ignore the rest of the cast. And the ending...even though I've seen this movie before, I always end up crying. Just the pure emotion captured near the end gets the viewer caught up. This movie sends a powerful message about friendship, family, self-worth, and having hope for the future. I cannot recommend it highly enough. The only issue I have with this movie is that not enough people have seen it! Sadly I cannot reveal a lot about the plot, as it's an experience you should have for yourself, but I hope anyone who sees this review is at least somewhat inspired to watch this movie.

*SPOILERS* Ok so doraemon was part of my childhood so watching this film feels so nostalgic about the good old days when i was a kid who would doraemon on tv everyday. The art and visuals are amazing to look at, so even though i knew the story, i still appreciated looking at the viusuals sound design was outstanding, really evokes emotion and feelings. Characters were also extremely in-character to their anime selves so it was good there too. The only gripe i had was the ending I didnt like it at all. Doraemon leaving was a tear-jerker and so ruining it by bringing him back to the present 10mins later was so anti-climatic. i might have appreciated it more if this happened to adult nobita or nobita's son since it has been a while and nobita has grown and matured on his own and seeing his old friend after so many years would have been a great ending but having doraemon come back to present day nobita after so little time was annoying and a bad move So honestly it was a great movie and extremely nostalgic to watch and while the art sound and characters were on-point the ending kinda ruined the movie by removing the bitter-sweetness that would've given the movie a perfect end.

If you're a Doraemon fan or Doraemon has been spending your childhood with you, you definitely need to watch this. The 3DVG effects is amazing. I personally don't like Nobita due to his ridiculous personality. However, he looks really cute in the movie and same goes to others. All of them have incredibly smooth skin, pink cheek and radiant eyes. As much as I hate Nobita, I actually cried a lot in the movie because of him. And it was unbelievable because I already knew the ending for a really long time. The movie was just too touching. I didn't expect it to be thisgood, really. Or maybe I'm just too sentimental, I don't know. So if you plan to watch it, prepare some tissues, just in case. Have fun watching it and I can assure you that you won't regret! Thank you Doraemon for giving me a wonderful childhood. It was a blessing to know you. =D

Story: 7/10 At the first till almost end, the story is so fine, even it feel like the pace was a bit fast. But, the ending wasn't feel right, I think it will better if it end in 10min earlier than original (I don't want to spoil it), when the most touching moment happens. Art: 9/10 I think it has Unique art in characters expression, and of course with the scene background. Sound: 7/10 The seiyus are good enough eventough I think it will be better if their adapt more. Character: 8/10 I like the characters design, especially Adult Shizuka, she was so cute and mature, the rest all the same, they look a like with the series. After all This movie satisfied me after waiting it for so long, as a fan of Doraemon series since I were a kid, I'm glad to saw this one.

As a long time fans of Doraemon i think any opinion or thoughts about this movie will be biased, but that comes with a price, high expectation. Don't have high expectation because this movie doesn't give you any new story, it's just a renewed recaps of Doraemon's best episodes. Won't tell you which ones. The thing is, the pacing is bad. Like cardiac arrest bad. Suddenly it's going so fast, and suddenly it's going so slow when there's part that could be skipped. Stand By Me skipped what's important and extend what's not. That's where the visuals kick in. Bang. I will never feel the same aboutTake-copter after seeing this movie. It's so mindblowing. Doraemon, Shizuka, and Nobita look cute and adorable. Gouda still the badass he is in the manga, and Suneo is still as annoying. Visuals are the best thing in Stand By Me Doraemon because it gives us a new look, a more updated look that keeps us watching the literally same story from the manga version. If the visual is not enough, there's still the soundtracks and scoring. It captures Doraemon's tone perfectly by using acoustic guitar, and using melodramatic piano tone in the perfect timing. Once again, if you don't like the visual, at least you'll like the soundtrack. Or the seiyuu. Kudos on the seiyuu. Some moments won't be as great as it was if they change seiyuu into another seiyuu. Overall, it's a good watch. If you are not a fan, you might love this movie because you (maybe, hopefully) don't know the story. If you are a fan, it's still nice seeing your childhood relived.

Stand By Me is the latest Doraemon movie, and there are some rumours says that this is the last Doraemon movie that will show the "true ending" of Doraemon. Stand By Me is kinda a review for the entire series of Doraemon. basically, Nobita's descendant sent Doraemon to change Nobita's future so he'll have a better future, which kinda make a paradox, i'll explain later. Doraemon has only one misson: make Nobita happy, after that he must go back to the future. and so, Doraemon help Nobita by using his advanced tool from 21st century so Nobita can make friends and get closer to Shizuka, the one who he loves. but, after Nobita is happy.. Doraemon's mission is over right? earlier i mention it is a paradox. why? let me explain: at first, Nobita will marry Giant's sister, Jaiko. unfortunately, Nobita got a lot of debt because some accident. so his descendant sent Doraemon to change that future, including his marriage with Shizuka. but if he marry Shizuka, his descendant from Jaiko won't be born right? if he wasn't even born, of course he can't send Doraemon right? aside from that, the movie is very funny. there are many moments where i can't stop my laughing, especially seeing Nobita's reaction when he watch Shizuka hugs Dekisugi in front of him. i can't believe i read something like that when i was young :p yes, this movie is very funny, but did it make me cry at the end? no. Stand by Me climax is when Doraemon finally finish his misson to make Nobita happy, and he must go back to future. it's supposed to be a heartbreaking moment, but somehow, i can't get that emotion. it feesl a bit rushed at the end. maybe if they make it 5-10 minutes longer to set up that climax, i would cry, but that didn't happen. what about their art and sound? i didn't watch many 3D movies before, but i like this very much. the animation when Nobita fly with bamboo-copter is amazing, and the sound is good too. it gets me excited like a little boy. overall the movie is good. it makes me laugh, the animation and sound is great, but still i'm kinda disappointed about the ending. i was hoping when i walk off the cinema after i watch this movie, i'll cry. but it didn't happen instead, i was laughing, remembering all of Nobita's reaction when he see Shizuka hugs Dekisugi

A perfect friendship story! If you aren't crying, or at least getting affected, then I'm sure that you haven't known what friendship really meant is, and I can say that you don't have a heart

How can I not give perfect score to this masterpiece? I already heard from a lot of people saying that its gonna be really sad and this and that, but I never known that it is REALLY THAT sad. So grab your tissue before watching. At least a box. Story : 10/10 The story starts from their first meeting (i suppose the first chapter?) so everyone can watch it even if they have never watched Doraemon before. At first both of them just wanted to finish their own goal, but then It's very sweet how their relationship grows as they spend their time together. The story ispretty straightforward, similar with the Anime, where Nobita is such a failure in life and Doraemon come to rescue with his magic pocket. The main difference is the movie gives more focus about Nobita's struggle in his love life. Something that bug me is that I feel Doraemon is so mean (this is very subjective, however for people who already watch Doraemon's kindness to Nobita in the anime may feel this way too). Doraemon thinks Nobita is hopeless and seem to hates him, but then it changes (pretty suddenly). I think the movie is too short to show all the hardships they've been trough, but still they managed to wrap it all perfectly. Art & Sound 10/10 The CG is just amazing. Character 9/10 Deep. How they develop each character is amazing, especially Nobita. From a fail lazy kid, becoming a brave and responsible young adult. For Doraemon, I still think they need more scene to show how his feelings to Nobita had changed. Overall, this movie is amazing!! i love it~ Sometimes I can't even see what's happening because of my eyes flooded with tears. This may be the final episode of Doraemon, but the other OVAs are still coming so u don't have to feel lonely!
